  3. Played another hour of the Banished Patron demo. I liked a little bit more every 15 minutes or so. It's going to be more of a patience game at the start than Banished. You may be "stuck" with only 10-25 workers for the first 3-4 seasons, waiting for resources and cash to pile up (there's citizen taxes so you get some all the time). I think increasing workers/citizens is going to be slow going most of the time, outside of getting randomly lucky re: a few wandering immigrants offering to join your town. so rapid expansion/growth will be hard to force. Which to me = possible efficiency challenge and I start drooling. Another big difference was you can upgrade most buildings a few tiers. So it may be much more efficient (because, workers) to have one upgraded Hunter building vs. three lvl-1 ones. Reading a bit more, sounds like the demo is out of date and the full release will likely have some improvements in AI, UI, QoL, who knows what else. So I didn't want to play too long only to have it be super different tomorrow. Maps were a decent size too, for future expansion. Dunno if I'll play it as much as Banished, but ... efficient layout planning is my jam!

  5. yeah, I reflected to Kaylon's build, which is basically a melee with a level 19 talent to make it ranged. but if you say with another weapon, and then respec later it works just as good, then its ok ooor, its not, cause then I still cannot decide between the 2

  7. I would add also: All things Geomancer (again... the Phantom) Troubadour/Psion to cast Killer Froze Stiff + Mind Wave ad nauseam Furyshaper wards, in particular the Blood one, with an axe and bleeding cuts Naked SC Wizard Slayer Nomad Brigandine + disengagement shenanigans (WotEP/Tuotilo) Now what Boeroer doesn't like: Scrolls that copy class-defining abilities (he'd rather have them do unique effects) Using other consumables Playing an Assassin in a party Grinding Megabosses

  8. The Pentagon Has Moved Toward Making Vaccines Mandatory For Service Members am not actual in favor o' mandated vaccines for the civilian population. past US experience with mandated vaccines, which is incontrovertibly legal btw, has been less than positive. as some o' you may have discovered this past near year-and-a-half, once you tell americans they are required to do something, some % will resist as a matter o' principle. if USA fed or state governments mandated the need to wear a warm coat when temperatures drop below freezing, then am guaranteeing you would see a disturbing spike in hypothermia deaths. that said, the military is a bit different. mandate vaccines and reach near 100% vaccination rates is not facing practical hurdles for DoD. am guessing the only reason this has not already been done were 'cause such a mandate (sans delta) would be widely criticized by the right as well as the awareness there is so many far right extremist groups with disproportionate numbers o' former military. mandate and forcibly vaccinate large numbers o' individuals who is objecting to being vaccinated will save lives and reduce unacceptable hospitalization rates, but it will result in a boost to proud boy and 3% recruiting efforts. regardless, the current right is gonna criticize this move, but looking at the covid-19 hospitalization rates in places like texas is gonna somewhat mute the braveheart moments from republican politicians trying to dramatic appeal to the trump base before the next primary or election. even folks like desantis has given up on vaccine resistance and shifted to masks. masks? whatever. regardless, am moderate surprised the Department of Defense waited as long as it did. quite likely means there is far more future proud boys, oathkeepers and 3% in the military than we had imagined, and we imagined more than a few. is not a privacy issue. we are talking 'bout a communicable disease which has already killed hundreds o' thousands o' americans in a relative brief period o' time, a disease which is spread quite easily and anonymously through ordinary public human interaction. is 'bout as not private as you can get. HA! Good Fun!

  9. Me too, and I'm only two episodes in, but that's okay. It's not like the anime is unfair in what it is. I also absolutely love the atmosphere, and I enjoyed Miyu having some interactions with someone else who isn't some form of demon or creepy magical girl pet variant. I know I've been harping on about this for a while now, but I've also tuned in every week for The Outer Limits for like seven years, and that ended in tragedy too, more often than not. And even when it did, at best you'd get a bittersweet ending. Scotty, in La Forge's engine room. Kes in Borg space. Kes, sparks flying in anger. Translation: Besides, and as much as I am at fault for starting this in the first place, it's incredibly exhausting to come up with these. I'd rather not write an essay in the Obsidian dialect of Tamarian.

  12. I ... think I want this game. My main issue, as always these days, is will I actually get around to learning/playing, haha. They have a demo, might check it out later today. Supposedly full release tomorrow, supposedly will be around twenty bucks. Very much influenced by Banished, but appears a bit more detailed, a huge "research" tree or something, some map goals etc. No random gen. maps, they will be initially hand made with specific conditions/goals or some such, mods might change that, who knows.

  13. Hey I'm working on a mod that gives actor experience when you defeat a ship in battle. Specifically a boarding victory. I've setup a new global switch and I have the ModScriptHook working just fine for when the switch gets flipped it adds experience and turns the switch back off. All I need now is a way to flip that switch after winning a ship boarding battle. I've tried a bunch of things and I must be getting the syntax wrong somewhere. Could You help me with the formatting of the code? Here's what I got for the part that's wrong. Obviously, like I said, it's wrong somewhere and this doesn't work, maybe you know why or what I'm doing wrong? { "$type": "Game.GameData.ShipCaptainGameData, Assembly-CSharp", "DebugName": "CPT_Generic_Merchant_01", "ID": "e6c62655-041d-40eb-9d15-69330d21aad7", "Components": [ { "$type": "Game.GameData.ShipCaptainComponent, Assembly-CSharp", "ShipID": "ad1e31fa-15c9-4a7a-b62d-af4d059ba489", "TraitID": "abd4a293-6f64-4fac-9f65-a90f64c18942", "Conditionals": { "Operator": 0, "Components": [ { "$type": "OEIFormats.FlowCharts.ConditionalCall, OEIFormats", "Data": { "FullName": "Boolean IsGlobalValue(String, Operator, Int32)", "Parameters": [ "DG_Global_Ship_Sunk", "EqualTo", "0" ], "Scripts": [ { "Data": { "FullName": "Void SetGlobalValue(String, Int32)", "Parameters": [ "DG_Global_Ship_Sunk", "1" ] }, "Conditional": { "Operator": 0, "Components": [] } } ] }, "Not": false, "Operator": 0 } ] } } ] }, Thanks for your time.

  14. Bartimaeus sits above us in his throne, passing cruel judgment on our treasured manga and anime we dare bring before his wrathful gaze. Sounds weird. Anyways you should totally watch Beastars, where a Panda doctor who dopes on bamboo beats the **** out of carnivores who get meat addictions.

  15. It's a bit too early to tell for sure, but currently that's a bit of a no, I'm afraid. I had to laugh a good bit whenver Ahiru accidentially turns herself into a duck, or she gets completely flustered when talking to Mytho and just starts saying whatever comes into her mind. Her Japanese voice actor does a good job of sounding the part too. It is set in a surreal dreamscape that is creepily close to Utena's setting, complete with an academy for ballet and dormitories, and several people vying for the affection and attention of Prince Mytho (who, bereft of his heart, has none to give, obviously). The episodes so far tell a fairy tale for each emotional fragment Ahiru finds, although I suspect that's not going to be all of the 26 episodes - there are two seasons with 13 episodes each, and finding all the heart shards seems like a decent ending point for the first season. The episodes so far have been good. The anthropomorphized (what a word, really) animals are really strange, and Tutu's transformation sequence is a little more detailed than usual for shows of this type (in other words, Ms. Itoh thought it necessary for Ahiru to have nipples... I don't really care, but it sure is weird given the usual barbie doll anatomy standards). Drosselmeyer (the creepy guy) looks really unsettling, but all of that isn't even the biggest issue, I think. It's so far too focused on themes and storytelling and not enough on character interactions - or even characters. That might yet change once the setup part is over, but as it stands right now, alas, no, I don't think this is something that you would really enjoy.

  16. Vampire Princess Miyu, otherwise known as Guess That Voice Actor! It's incredible how versatile Megumi Ogata is. I almost didn't recognize her. Well, scratch that, I definitely did not recognize Reiha as Megumi Ogata at first. That creepy doll of hers gave it away though, and eventually you can hear her in Reiha too. Impressive, really. I wonder if we'll get a complete Sailor Moon reunion tour, so now that's Mimet as Miyu's creepy pet demon-bunny, Sailor Mizuki as one off character in the first episode and now Sailor Uranus (otherwise also known as Shinji or Yukito ). I'm guessing Reiha will be back, right? That didn't seem like a one time occurance there.

  17. "Scripts" is not a valid parameter (see the ScriptCallData structure) and should be removed. I think I see what you want to do, sadly the "Conditionals" property of the ShipCaptainComponent is a ConditionalExpression, and there's no way to call Scripts from here. Maybe you could run a ScriptHook which checks for IsInCombatEncounter (which conveniently is used exclusively for Ship Duels), and if so set DG_Global_Ship_Sunk to true?

  21. No, but it's on my list of things to read when I can. I'm behind on manga lately because I got involved in a tabletop game of Pathfinder 2e that takes up some time to prepare for. Which will only get more complicated when Summoners come out in two weeks and everyone gets STANDO POWAH!

  28. Yeah, that's fair. Frankly, I don't think Monk is the best synergy for a Shifter anyway, especially solo. Have you considered Shifter/Trickster BTW? I remember having read posts about people being quite happy with that combination. Soloing higher difficulties will still be an issue due to the lack of renewable resources. But as a Rogue, you can at least play guerilla warfare and reset fights with Smoke Veil (which can fit well with a feral shadow druid kind of shifter that stalks his preys and pick them one by one).

  29. I might be at fault for the Madoka fiasco (sort of), but harping on and on and on about CCS sure was something worthwhile, in the end. I'll comment on the other things soon(ish). I'm guessing you figured out who Yue is then? edit: Look how I posted this before you added a guess to th edit. Yeah, uhm, not going to say anything, of course. Final last hint that was mentioned ages ago but never came up again: Also... Sakura sure is a little dense at times, and has trouble figuring things out (when it comes to herself, at least). It's a common theme for her and will also be commented on*. So, yeah, no wonder she didn't figure out what Kero meant. Well, as long as the Earth doesn't explode, things should be fine, right? Right? *Mild spoiler:

  30. That game kind of looks like Banished. I'm surprised no one here notice.

  31. Well, I insisted and played a bit more with Shifter/Bloodmage. It seems an odd combination, but when the pieces are put together, he is being a blast. I am starting fights with Nature’s Mark. Then I am using Large Shield while I buff (Spirit Shield, Fleet Feet, Vital Essence) and the enemies come closer. Then I cast Touch of Rot/Chillfog/Combusting Wounds, and finally shift. I stil can use the Druid healing spells, or if is an emergency I cancel/change form.

  34. Makes total sense. In fact I have a picture of the fight when it happened and sure enough there are lots of gibs. Turning it off.
    1 point
  35. Aha! That might be the reason why I never saw this happen with so many hours of playtime: I always turn off the (imo silly) gib option. It's mechanically disadvanteous anyway (see Druid's Garden of Life, Chanter's White Worms, Death's Maw helmet, Corpse Eater's Flesh Communion, Xoti's Sickle).

  37. Ok, some news : - Same problem with Survival of the fittest. Marking Prey seems the only "passive" (it has a hidden passive part) stated to apply to both ranger and pet that works correctly. - Based on the progression table, it is literally written in the code that pets should benefit from all these abilities. Except... it doesn't. - I've found the source of the bug and a correction. Just tested it for Superior Camouflage and Survival of the Fittest and it works ! (EDIT : works also for defensive/strenghtened bond) Except it impacts directly the Progression Table file... Basically what should be done is to append the 27+ ranger progression tables were they appear (numerous NPC tables) with the 4 modified ability (technically adding 4 working ones in addition to the 4 non-working). @Noqn could be the kind of person who can do it (with a script ?) without becoming crazy. I have not this kind of skill for now I'm a bit sad, because it shows clearly these abilities simply haven't been tested. Like the most elementary tests were never run. I heavily suspect another bug to Defensive/Strenghtened bond because pet gets a copy of ranger abilities : in the code, pets should benefit from the bonus if they are within 4m... of their pet. EDIT : also another bug : defensive/strenghtened bond applies even when pet is down, provided it is within 4m... (which is not the case for Stalker bonus)

  38. Hey, we also talk about Madoka, Revolutionary Girl Utena, and JoJo! Violet Evergarden has been surprisingly good, I think you're right where the first special takes place. It's pretty much a single episode and you won't miss anything by skipping it, but it is good.
