Priests are good nukers after a certain level. Their major shortcoming is that it's mostly fire spells which can be a big problem in some encounters (e.g. with Ironclads or Fire Nagas etc.). And Iconic Projection is not enough to balance that out. That's why some people prefer Berath - because that will give you corrosion alternatives. Magran gives you good nuking options early on which is nice - you can start as nuker-priest right away. So using a second class that has alternative dmg types isn't a bad idea. Evoker for example can use other evocation spells that are not for (e.g. missiles). So that can work well. Afaik even the Firethrower Gloves do provide +1 PL for the Magranite bonus evocation spells that are borrowed from Wizard (correct me if I'm wrong). Marux Amanth (soulbound dagger) has a somewhat similar effect as the Evoker passive by the way - but for priests. Other secondary classes that work well are Helwalker: +10 MIG from passive, +12 ACC from Enduring Dance, +2 PEN and +5 MIG (stacks with +10) from Thunderous Blows, +10 INT from Duality oMP and Stunning Surge with is great to use with Hand Mortar/Fire in the Hole to prepare a nuke. Imo mortars also totally fit a Priest of Magran. What's also cool is to use Magran's Blessing and combine it with Swift Flurry+Heartbeat Drumming: because the Fire Shield which Magran's Blessing emits counts as melee attack and it can trigger Swift Flurry/HBD attacks. Those will get executed with the main hand weapon then. So I'd pick Sun & Moon as main hand weapon because it has a lot higher chances to turn Swift Flurry/HDB into a long chain of crits. Since it's caused by retaliation you can cast your nukes while you may cause crit-chains with your main weapon. Which I think is very cool. You can also use Magran's Favor instead of Sun & Moon. It's less impactful but Bleeding Cuts with Swift Flurry/HBD is still very nice and thematically it's obviously [emoji]chefs_kiss[/emoji]. With both weapons you'll also get +2 fire Power Levels. Another would be Assassin. The +25 ACC, the +4 PEN and the +50% crit damage from stealth/invisibility are great to have. Arguably Skaen would be a good priest subclass for this because it grants you some additional invisibility uses. Tactician also fits a Priest of Magran. With Disciplined Strikes you can increase the amount of crits and Armored Grace lets you wear heavier armor without becoming a slug. Refreshing Defense is always great to have. If you have a Cipher I the party and use some flanking immunity on your front liners (or CC the hell out of enemies) you will be having the Brilliant inspiration lots of times which is great to have as nuker since your spells get reloaded. Streetfighter with blunderbuss(es) (includes mortars) ist also a good pick. Especially if you use spells that have rel. short casting times but long recovery times this is very nice: the recovery gets cut in half. Chanter, especially Troubadour or Bellower work well: while you cast priest spells you can load up phrases for invocations. Also you get good non-fire alternatives. Psion is also good for the same reasons as Chanter: load up focus while casting priest spells. I personally find the Helwalker variant most interesting, especially with Magran's Blessing. It still has the "only fire" problem a bit though. But the melee capabilities still make sure you'll be useful even if fire immune enemies emerge.3 points

It went well beyond that. End of the day the Russians approving it early had zero effect on anyone else, much as the Brits approving their vaccine despite its statistical oddities- and ignoring its approved dose schedule- had no effect on anyone else. But no, such criticism was of critical importance to everyone else as was implying they'd stolen their own vaccine somehow and been faking the stats so they could... uh, be found out instantly when other peoples' experience deviated? They'd pretty much have had to deliberately break the vaccine for it not to work. There's a pretty obvious pattern of western vaccines getting a pass for their issues, which was not extended to those from Russia and China. Fact is that Sputnik has far and away the best balance of effectiveness and cost of available vaccines*, and was always likely to have that best balance. Those are the two absolute critical factors for anywhere that isn't US/ Canada/ western Europe/ Gulf/ Australia. The media and political response illustrates again exactly how far up their own arse the average western liberal is: they should have been applauding rather than barracking if they really cared about anyone outside their own high income bubble. As I said earlier, the mRNA vaccines may be wonders of modern technology, but you aren't going to get India paying USD40/ person for two doses, let alone distribute it at -70C; and the Astra Zeneca proven effectiveness is 'only' 62%, far less than Sputnik, though that's likely to be an underestimate due to their broken trial. *The only contender for that title is likely to be the J&J one, since it's a single dose which is a big advantage, but it's still in trials.3 points

I'm not a priest expert, but I would say it depend how you want to play : For a pure caster/nuker, i would go SC Magran or Rymrgand (available with mod). -> Magran give echo spells passive and lot of fire damage, and there is a ton of item helping it (otto starcat pet, magran's favor, sun&moon, ring of fire). Biggest issue is lot of fire resistant ennemie in late, -> Rymgrand give lot of frost spells, completing nicely with the fire's spells priest have. Biggest issue is a full dlc with heavy frost resistant (but you still have somes fire spell for backup). I don't like multiclass two damage dealing casters cause you lost some PL and action economy is a thing in late game. For an hybrid melee/caster, i would go either Skaen/assassin (fun but not a frontliner) or streetfighter/rymrgand with spiritual dual axes (cast some buffs, barring death door, and go to town)2 points

Just now getting into it, the class preview in character creation doesn't show you as much. There's an addition preview, but it doesn't take archetypes into account which makes it not very useful. Paladins can now pick up a mount instead of enhance weapons for their Divine Bond. The two archetypes are the Martyr and the Warrior of the Holy Light. The former gets Bard abilities and more support, the latter trades in spells for more Lay on Hands uses and an aoe buff. Druid archetype is the Drovier, which is forced into taking the Animal Companion Nature Bond (notably different than PnP) and trades in Wild Shape for the ability to buff allies with aspect spells. Base Skalds are going to be better than Bards at melee heavy groups and can share Barbarian Rage Powers, but not very great with mixed or spellcaster heavy groups as their base song disables spellcasting. They can fight better than Bards though. Battle Scion can pick up bonus feats instead of Rage Powers and share them. Court Poet buffs Intelligence and Charisma instead of melee ability, which makes it better for Arcane heavy groups and not very good for martial heavy or mixed groups. Demon Dancer can give allies demon abilities instead of picking up the first three rage powers. Herald of the Horn gets Arcane Bond (extra spell per day) and boosts for Sonic spells. Hunt Caller has some Druid abilities, unlike PnP ability to turn party members into animals doesn't show up. Warpriest looks like a pretty solid Fighter/Cleric combo, it's got good proficiencies, enough bonus feats to easily carve out a fighting style, decent spellcasting, can enhance both weapons and armor, and can heal on demand with Fervor. One notable difference from PnP is that Fervor can't be used to quicken spells, which is a pretty big nerf but not a damning one. Champion of the Faith can smite instead of channel energy, doesn't look to lose out on the first bonus feat, but does lose out on the ability to enhance their weapons. Cult Leader trades out proficiencies and bonus feats for sneak attack. Disenchanter gets to be good as dispelling stuff and instead of combat feats gets stuff that helps them on saves or dispelling. Feral Champion gets to grow claws and wildshape instead of enhance armor. Proclaimer can damage evil outsiders instead of heal with Fervor. Shieldbearer is a shield bash specialist and most abilities revolve around shields instead of weapons or armor.2 points

I've been watching at least one every couple of days. I remember and enjoy them most when I watch them in a block of 3 or 4 and then do something else for a while, not necessarily but usually at least a day. I think this works better for me than watching one at a time frequently or a big binge because I'm not overloaded but still can digest several different things at once instead of focusing on a single episode that could be hit or miss.1 point

If I recall Pfizer had to defer deliveries, as they're re-tooling. Moderna's cutting deliveries as well. Guess that's Canada's clout in the world on display But the situation is supposed to improve by next month, so hopefully we'll be sorted by the fall. Cases are decreasing in Ontario, finally, hospitalizations are as well (ICU not moving much though).1 point

I ran a couple clerics (fighter/berath, fighter/wael) and have run a couple zealots (two streetfighter/waels, assassin/skaen), a templar (kind wayfarer/eothas), a shaman (corpse-eater/skaen) and frankly i think the melee priest + buff/debuff approach is a very solid one. if you're worried about repetitive casting or tedium, you can set up AI scripts to automate the most important buffs. of course, the priest deity really helps a lot. wael and skaen work particularly well for meleeing, in case you didn't notice a pattern in my list. edit: deadfire is not as strict about various classes going "out of role" since much of the melee capability for traditional melee class comes in their passives that you have to actively pick as opposed to inherent, automatic gains. I say this because i've also done a single-class Skaen that was also a melee-focused build, and it worked fine enough; I just had to build it and play it more of like a melee class. It wouldn't output as much damage or survive as much as a well-built fighter or rogue, but all the various spells added a lot of versatility1 point

not as high, but you can still get a bit. there's just a lot of ways to boost fire and/or evocation-keyworded spells, and less so for other keywords. prestige (+1), the special lance or weyc's wand (+3), stone of power (+1), plus empower point (+5) would get you +10 to any one spell for any caster. you could get even higher with a nature godlike with a body inspiration, which gives an additional +1 to any build. also, special just for fire keywords is the ring of focused flame, which gives you +10 acc. though if you're just interested in maxing out fire damage, a single-class priest isn't the way to go. i put together something here; it has less overall PL bonuses, but more overall damage because you can get a lot more from multiclassing than you can from a few more +PLs:1 point

My mother had a large percolator (60's? 70's?), with the clear lid handle so you could see the coffee jumping up and down into it. As a kid I thought it was magic. Then eventually in the 80's she went to a Krups auto coffee maker and I never saw that thing again.1 point

Tried running an Arcanist. I couldn't figure out how to prepare spells (only shows spells per day and spells known) and got stuck with Magic Missile and Shield. After getting tpk'd by a Large Water Elemental I deleted the character. Everything else was relatively easy, but I did have some trouble with doors in turn-based mode. Initial party is the PC, Paladin, a melee specd Shaman, and the ranged Monk. Paladin is pretty straightforward and built to tank, Shaman is built away from spells and towards finesse melee which is more than a little odd, and the Monk has high scores in all big stats and does good damage. Noticeably, all of the first companions you pick up are from classes that didn't have representatives in Kingmaker. It depends on how mounted combat is implemented. If they go too close to PnP it will get defeated by regular sized doors. The really frustrating thing for me is that Fervor and Level as BAB for feats is already implemented correctly in the Call of the Wild mod for Kingmaker. And no Sacred Fist. It should work like an animal companion. I'll let you know when (if?) I get there.1 point

I guess SC Priest of Magran with bonus Power Levels stacked to the roof would also be cool. Prestige, Magran's Favor, Sun & Moon, Otto Starcat, Firethrower Gloves, Stone of Power and an Empower Point and *boom*: you're casting with +13 Power Levels. Jeez... that's like being level 49 or so...1 point

I accidentally did that to a former g/f a couple of years back. She'd never watched a Cary Grant film, so I started movie nights with Bringing Up Baby, His Girl Friday, The Philidelphia Story, etc. Next thing I knew she was addicted and buying ALL the dvd collections of those classic movies.1 point

The scarcely concealed vaccine jingoism on show has been one of the less edifying aspects of the coronavirus response. 'Funny' thing being that leaders who really ought to know better have been indulging in such stupidities to cover their own shortcomings and for narrow political/ economic reasons. Ironically, given how he was spun, progressive dream banker wunderkind Macron has been barely better than Donald Trump, and when it comes to vaccine rollout considerably worse. France has low trust in vaccines, and slagging off Astra Zeneca pointlessly because it's a brit company, Boris was a big meanie and the UK left his pet project is completely counter productive. The EU also tries to have it both ways by ordering a massive number of 'best effort to supply' vaccines rather than a smaller number of guaranteed ones because they were late to the party and the big number sounded better- but, oddly enough, those with guaranteed contracts get theirs first because that's what guaranteed means. They also turned down an offer for additional vaccines from Moderna and Pfizer, as being too expensive, and stalled on licensing vaccines for production because they hoped domestic companies (eg Sanofi) would make their own. End result, the two top vaccinated countries in Europe aren't in the EU and, to quote the great philosopher Buzzfeed News, one of the two will shock you. The two most vaccinated countries in Europe are... the UK, and Serbia which doesn't even have domestic production facilities. When it comes to coronavirus response pretty much every single euroskeptic talking point about paralysing bureaucracy and out of touch Brussels/ Strasburg elites in the EU has been proven correct.1 point

I use Assassin/Bleak Walker for the Triple-Endless-Dot combo that is True Love's Kiss, Gouging Strike and Brand Enemy. The arquebus + modal+ FoD is very, very good in the early game - but it's true that this isn't enough to one-shot enemies later on. Can still be good against squishy but dangerous wizards and priests and so on. But the real deal is the triple DoT which makes is very easy to kill everything even if you're severely underleveled. Because of the +25 ACC (Assassinate) + 5 ACC (Zealous Focus) +5 ACC (Dagger) + 12 ACC (single handed) + 10 ACC for Gouging Strike (and maybe even +10 from Helm of the White Void later) from stealth it's very hard to miss the initial attack - and Brand Enemy is an auto-hit with zero recovery. It's two extremely fast actions and then vanish. You can win every fight with ease. But you'll degrade your party to spectator rank. In top of that you have healing and support and rel. good sturdyness if you wish. The FoD + Assassinate combo isn't that exiting later on. Like @HaplokI prefer to use the Assasinate bonus with AoE stuff - not even necessarily with damaging AoEs. The +25 ACC is also really nice with an impactful disabling ability.1 point

@Kvellen Yeah, I had tested this on an existing conversation and I have just tested it on a new one, I can confirm that it also works very well. Thank you! Now I'm trying to create a new companion without success so far. I've tried to make Waidwen a companion by using what already exists on him and adding some data from Edér but it doesn't seem to be working. Basically, in lax2_characters.gamedatabundle, I added some stuff to LAX02_CHA_02_Waidwen (I can't remember what exactly, I'll have to check the backup) and I created 'CompanionWaidwen' with the same data as 'CompanionEder' (which is in characters.gamedatabundle) and new IDs where needed. For the prefabs, I took the ones you can find from Waidwen (assets/prefabs/characters/lax02_poe2_npcs/lax02_npc_02_wandering_soul_waidwen.prefab) What am I doing wrong? Is there something missing? Can someone help me? ^^'1 point

I have played games for 35 plus years. I own thousands, yes thousands. I came accross this game at one point and was like nah. Then later read more about it and was like this is kinda cool, and my son wanted a game we could play together. So We gave it a try. This thing is truly underrated on most sites. How they incorporated the Rpg elements creating a tank, a ranger, a healer etc is briliant. And the game play is so smooth and really a lot of fun. Crafting, building it has a little everything and does everything well. I appreciate the additional content that is being worked on. Always something new to look forward to. You guys are doing a great job and seem to really listen to the feedback and keep improving it. I always think of something and boom its fixed already. Like the subtle but recent change to the acorns getting more shells rather than so many tops. Very welcomed. I cant wait for the completed project but then again I can as I love getting bits and pieces. Please add a quiver for the arrow types so it doesnt take so much inventory, perhaps the quiver does but then it allows for multiple arrow types. Also I would love to see a level 3 or 4 bow, as well as the speculated crossbow. Whatever is decided I am happy, this is areally a great and fun game for the whole family. Anyone reading this who hasnt jumped off the deep end. Go on its safe and well worth the plunge. Also down the road maybe getting in the house or the neghborhood if not already planned could be a lot of fun. Dlc ideas are endless. Keep up the great work. You are on the right track in my opnion with everything so far. I look forward to anyone else older like me out there that feel the same way or have some opinions to share.1 point
