  1. Today I finished my wardrobe cupboard I was talking about a few days earlier: It's made from plywood (18mm birch), primer and paint (Farrow & Ball: De Nimes). The knobs are knurled controls from an old stereo. It's on castors because behind it (in the wall) is the ugly heating circuit distributor for the underfloor heating system.

  3. First on CNN: Trump's impeachment defense team leaves less than two weeks before trial while he was in the wh, there were at least a couple people who, if for no other reason than self preservation, would point out that trump's impulses towards self immolation were ill-advised. those people clear did not go to florida with donald. if steve bannon is the voice of reason, you may have a problem. ... rudy, meet your newest problem: win defamation regarding an issue o' arguable public interest is not ez, but rudy is providing casebook examples which don't happen in rl 'cause nobody is so reckless. as noted in a previous post, dominion doesn't genuine want rudy, but am suspecting the lincoln project lawyers are hopeful rudy doesn't retract and apologize by february 3. HA! Good Fun!

  5. It's really silly and fun, which made it a welcome break from stuff like Star Trek Discovery. It's got a lot of flaws, notably stock footage for every attack and transformation, but if you don't take it seriously it's enjoyable enough. Hulu.

  6. I get that The Expendables is supposed to be a love letter to 80s and early 90s action movies. I grew up on those movies. Many of my all-time favorite movies are of that variety. I am the exact target audience for The Expendables. It technically has all the elements you would find in those movies, but it's missing all the charm, personality, and heart of the fun goofy ones and all the fine craftsmanship of the great ones. It goes through all the motions without understanding what tied the motions together and made them work well.

  7. In my opinion: Yes, it is. The first season takes a couple of episodes to find its footing, but after that it is, if nothing else, great entertainment. You could watch the first episode, then 8 and 10 to gather the early team (the rest shows up way later) then skip to 13 and continue normally. This skips most of any early awkwardness, takes the first and arguably most boring of the antagonists out of the picture and begins the arc were the show really starts to shine in its very unique way. But the episodes are short enough, more so if you actively skip stock footage, and given the show's shoestring budget and time constraints so skipping 10 out of the first 13 episodes isn't much of a timesaver. You just see a lot less of Usagi crying. The first anime (Sailor Moon Crystal is the new one, and more closely based on the manga) and the manga are supposedly somewhat different. Legend has it that some of the showrunners and Naoko Takeuchi hated each other's guts (she particularily hated them turning Rei into somewhat of a mild tsundere). I have never read the manga, so I don't know, but I do plan on watching Sailor Moon Crystal, even though I really don't like the way it looks. Sailor Moon S (third season) is, I think, the show's absolute high point. It's not just the high point of Sailor Moon, but up there with 90ies anime in general - just don't expect any Evangelion level commentary on human existence. All that is, of course, with two "minor" caveats: First, it's silly. By far and large, it is mostly silly. There's drama, action, some social commentary, it is occasionally heartbreaking (to be honest, the first time I saw that season one finale I cried. Sure didn't tell that to my friends at school, but eh, yeah), but at the end of the day it is... silly. Assuming you can appreciate the abject silliness of the show you'll get a lot of laughts out of it. Second, and that also needs to be said, it also is a magical girl sentai shojo anime. One of the first of its kind, I think. To quote Mike Stoklasa here: It broke new GRROOOOOOOOOOOOUND! I mean it unironically though, and there's a reason why it became popular beyond all the wildest dreams of its creators. Even though it was made for young girls, the only people I know that watched Sailor Moon were guys, and we were mostly in our mid to late teens at the time. Huh. Oh, and has a really minimalistic artstyle that I think is super gorgeous, but it was noticably different from other anime at the time. edit: Wow, forum software just ate my precious edit. @Bartimaeus I agree with your theory.

  9. I can attest that this build is insane, but don't try it unless you have a really good graphics card. If you don't, your game will slow to a snail's pace due to the many, many procs of foe-only chill fog.

  11. That's awesome! I found a reply from a developer regarding if audio files can be placed in the override folder. Regardless I believe adding audio to a new conversations is possible! It's simply a case of naming the audio files such that they have the title of the conversation they correspond to, in addition to the node number they should play on (Eg. lax02_01_cv_harbinger_leader_0001.wem, lax02_01_cv_harbinger_leader_0003.wem, lax02_02_cv_dracolich_phylactery_0175.wem, etc). I've only tested this with pre-existing conversations, but I don't see why it shouldn't work for a completely new conversations as well!

  13. I like tricks like Spark the Souls (Priest) + Beckoner's Ancient Brittle Bones. And of course the completely OP Berserker/Beckoner with Ancient Brittle Bones and Many Lives Pass by wielding Grave Falling/Chilling Grave. I don't use summons that often though because they are just too impactful in general. Like with scrolls and other consumables I mostly avoid them. Nice summons trick by the way: play a Chanter/Streetfighter, summon whisps and let them shoot you (preferable also wear Deltro's Cage Helmet). Use the Red Hand with Sure Handed Ila. You'll get reload time bonuses: -50%, -20% and -20%. Fun!

  14. amplified wave works at least with chanter/priest summons, but what I really love is some cast of screaming souls on many lives pass skeleton ( 30-50 base raw on huge area + distracted, I use it to replace phantom foes opener when I have enough focus), you can target also ancient weapons but many lives is easier as you can start casting safe from afar as soon as the skeleton appears and the skelly will auto run to the enemies) [EDIT] and about kamikaze pain linked summons, wurms are great as they are 1. cheap enough 2. 3 better than 2 3. sturdy enough to survive the time pain link is active 4. very mobile/not slowed by water 5. can hit nasty ranged enemies with fire attack while soaking damage from melee 6. if you like micro they can get 2/3 good crit damage from disengaging causing 30% of that damage automatically to a tough auto engaging attacker e.g. dragons or multiple attacker (e.g. 3 heavily armored melee warriors all engaging a single wurm, nice let me disengage )

  16. DVDs, it's not really running anywhere (SIXX cancelled it after the first season) and it isn't available for streaming. Thought about getting the blu-rays regardless, but they gone and messed up Sailor Moon R. Audio quality is terrible and the final episodes is missing, instead it has episode 87 twice. Yay... I hope they fix the problems. Eh.

  18. i think you can target only controlled summons (e.g. from chanter/priest/druid/ranger) with cipher spells, else keeping Vela alive would be easier too. Maybe with monk summons?

  19. I think it's my third favorite show all-time, and it's honestly not that far behind the next two (and I say this as someone who, while I do love cartoons, has never been able to even kind of get into an anime show). It can be a little odd at times and it's definitely always stupid, but it's also hilarious, cute, pretty wholesome, and just overall a very fun watch. @KaineParker I think right around there is pretty close to when I consciously realized "oh no...I think I actually genuinely love this show!". What started as a sort of ironic meme watch had turned completely unironic. That particular episode is even more filler-ish than usual...but it doesn't stop it from being so good. @majestic I legitimately thought at first the Professor was like a...from-the-future Umino at first (which I'm pretty sure he's not at this point...pretty sure). He has that same kind of wacky nerd vibes. If you have a list of "best episodes" that you think is particularly good, feel free to post - I'd be greatly curious to see how it lines up with what I think are the best episodes. Also, what're you talking about? Re-writing them into being cousins was a brilliant masterstroke. How else are you going to get the coveted Alabama market in the U.S.?

  21. Spearcaster is good with an Arcane Archer because its ACC bonus via the Arcana skill stacks with the one the Arcane Archer gets for his Imbue shots. If you have 20 Arcana then an Imbue shot with Spearkcaster will have 25+25 = 50 ACC. I also think Arcane Archer and Spearcaster fits very well thematically. For non Imbue/non-elemental shots the Arcane Archer gets a -5 ACC penalty which is easily outbalanced by the +25 ACC bonus from Spearcaster then. Even with 0 Arcana Spearcaster already has +5 ACC so it gets actually balanced out right from the start. I played an Arcane Archer/Bleak Walker with Spearcaster once because a) Flames of Devotion counts as elemental attack so the Arcane Archer gets no -5 ACC penalty on it b) Eternal Devotion's 10% lash works with all direct damage abilities, including the effects of imbue shots (e.g. Fireball) c) Ring of Focused Flame gives FoD-shots +20 ACC (instead of +10) which stacks with Spearcaster's ACC bonus from Arcana (+45 ACC for FoD shots) d) Zealous Focus stacks with the Ranger's other ACC passives like Marksman, Stalker's Link, Survival of the Fittest etc. So I got a superaccurate sniper who did great dmg on hit, could heal himself, Party Members and his Animal Companion a lot (Lay on Hands) and also do support. The Missile enchantment does not scale with PL like the original spell would - but it gets bonus PEN and damage from the weapon quality (exceptional-->superb-->legendary) and also counts as weapoon attack itself - so it would also profit from stuff like Sneak Attack. For example if you played a Scout. It procs more often with Driving Flight of course. Still I think the lash enchantment is superior and more reliable. With an arbalest pay attention to the modal: hits will always interrupt. While a Ranger has Concussive Tranquilizer to reliably interrupt this modal can also be used to interrupt enemies without any resource cost. For example to prevent certain Oozes from merging back together of prevent a certain Dragon to cast Llengrath's Safeguard. As nice class combos I can imagine Arcane Archer/Assassin, Arcane Archer/Bleak Walker, Assassin/Bleak Walker and maybe Arcane Archer/Helwalker Maia is better off with the Red Hand imo. Her Gunhawk passive brings Red Hand's shorter range back up. Also Gunhawk's passive interrupt-chance is good. Both effects don't work for Arbalests, so...

  23. I got my second shot of the Pfizer vaccine on Monday. Having served overseas and getting all scheduled vaxxes on time, I have never been hit so hard by a vax as I was by the second shot. There were a couple of things that definitely didn't help. First, I didn't get much sleep the night before. Second, I only had my usually coffee the morning of. Finally, I could have taken a Tylenol beforehand. To be fair, I felt fine the first day. It was the next morning that really kicked my ass. I wouldn't even bother posting except to advise folks to take a different route. Putatively, and by the FDA's own literature, the second shot typically can have more severe side effects, but you should do the same for both. Different people can expect different side effects and, moreover, the same person might be impacted differently depending of variables that are frankly impossible to appreciate fully. I would get a good night's sleep, eat at least a quick breakfast, take an analgesic before the shot (first or second), and make sure the next day is free just in case you feel a bitt run down. sadly, I did none of the above and ended up having class the next morning. I didn't have a choice about that. I went in when work scheduled me. It was okay. Just had to tough it out, but hedge your bets an give yourself a break if you can. Also, I think I asked for advice about smokers a while back. I decided to keep my wood smoker at home and I bought a pellet smoker, a Traeger, to keep at my out-laws because I knew my wife's brother wanted one. It's been great. We've used it a lot and my wife's mom even called to thank me because it's been such a hit that people are at her house more often. Whoever advised it, I wanted to say thanks. In a couple of months, when I am back again, I'll mention you by name if I can remember. lol God bless, brothers, and stay safe!
