  6. You guys argue as if this was a thing that really happened and not a story that several designers/directors puzzled together over the course of two game development cycles. It's quite hard to mantain coherence when multiple writers add stuff to one fictional world. And "one Josh to bring them all and in the darkness bind them" might not be enough.

  8. Proverbs 19:17 - The one who is gracious to the poor lends to the Lord, and the Lord will repay him for his good deed. 1 John 3:17 - Suppose someone sees a brother or sister in need and is able to help them. And suppose that person doesn’t take pity on these needy people. Then how can the love of God be in that person? Then again, you can find lots of stuff in the Bible if you look.

  9. Matthew 19:16-26 The Rich Young Man 16 And behold, a man came up to him, saying, “Teacher, what good deed must I do to have eternal life?” 17 And he said to him, “Why do you ask me about what is good? There is only one who is good. If you would enter life, keep the commandments.” 18 He said to him, “Which ones?” And Jesus said, “You shall not murder, You shall not commit adultery, You shall not steal, You shall not bear false witness, 19 Honor your father and mother, and, You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” 20 The young man said to him, “All these I have kept. What do I still lack?” 21 Jesus said to him, “If you would be perfect, go, sell what you possess and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.” 22 When the young man heard this he went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions. 23 And Jesus said to his disciples, “Truly, I say to you, only with difficulty will a rich person enter the kingdom of heaven. 24 Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God.” 25 When the disciples heard this, they were greatly astonished, saying, “Who then can be saved?” 26 But Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” All you need to do is nothing, as all is possible for God

  19. No, you can't. The US has laws in place that allow the government to demand any data they would like to see, at any point, as long as its stored under their jurisdiction, and if you really think the Patriot Act and the NSA's systematic attempts to underminde encryption and spy on everyone isn't used for large scale industrial espionage but for protection from "terrorists" then you might just as well start to trust China that they won't simply infringe on your copyrights or patents or buy that bridge in New York someone's been trying to sell. To borrow one from Guard Dog's playbook, the US government is only your friend if you're from the US... and even when you are, they're probably not your friend.

  21. Democracy elected president of Venezuela, Brasil, Russia, Turkey, etc. Democracy is not really a trust factor here. We already established that you would not want to have Human Rights decided in a democratic process by World's majority of populace. US government has no direct accountability to me as well, so what do they care? Why should I then trust them?

  22. I don't think you're trying to mock people here, but no. There is a difference. My old favourite game, Star Wars the Old Republic had for years prohibited character transfers between US and EU servers, because the EU privacy laws were so much stricter than the US laws. It took some serious cleaning up of their backend systems and how they managed account information before data could be shared within the same company, between EU and US hosting.

  24. @BruceVC I didn't say you don't see such interactions, I just said they do not produce any offspring and do not pair bond long term to upbring the offspring. I have quite a few such friends. Yes, I'm inclusive, tolerant and do well in diversified communities too. Even they agree that some of the groups are just nutts and they also agree that there is a hihjer rate of promiscuity and swapping of sex partners and lower rate of long term relationships that could substitute a proper family. They also note that their are nutt-cracks in that community chasing clicks and following etc and they would do more harm to kids than good, as they are rooted too deeply in their own ideology and could possibly not tolerate well if the adopted kid would want to be a strong straight figure. I also say that it should be legal, but the risk factors are different and there are more of them. The thing is the difference in vetting and risk would probably have crazy people calling "dsicrimination" Again, we come to a point of what can be decided in a democratic process. Again, have your own. Nothing stops you biologically.

  30. Thank you for the detailed explanation of the strategy with WoD + PotLS. Makes me wish I had killed all the Naga on Hasongo instead of going “bloodless” — some extra reptilian blood would have been handy to make more Potion of the Last Stand. Today I went immortal in that first big brutal fight against risen in the Hanging Sepulchers, which was kicking my butt before this. I started from stealth in the doorway and threw a wall of many colors making sure it hit somebody for combat start. Then I threw another one to make an X. By the time I cast ironskin and gulped a potion of ascension, that annoying risen champion who usually hits you from behind went right past me to hit one of his dominated pals! Now I was getting hit hard by the archers, casters, and two engagers so I threw the WoD on a couple of risen who never move, and gulped the PotLS. Combusting wounds, meteor showers, and expose vulnerability did the rest, with one repeat of WoD. The last archer I just beat to death with griffin’s blade. This is really something generous you’ve given us here, and I can’t thank you enough.

  31. So, there's an Artemis focused episode left, one that focuses on Ami and a catalyst episode that kicks off the final arc of R. Looking forward to reading what you think of the end of R. And that Ami episode, because I love that one. I mean, yeah, I love pretty much everything that deals with Ami, even the bad ones, so that's not saying much. I just adore her. I kind of "made up" with Chibi-Usa during the rewatch if that makes sense. The first time around I hated her so much for being an additional wedge between Mamoru and Usagi, making fun of Usagi because he broke up with her. Usagi sure can be annoying, she's silly, klutzy and can be really dense, but she sure never deserved any of that. Eh, that reminds me, what did you think about Usagi trying to slap Chibi-Usa when she almost got all the other Guardians killed? I remember we discussed that episode at school when it aired, mostly whether or not it was grossly out of character for her to try and slap her silly.

  32. Joe the pigeon spared by Australia after leg tag found to be fake https://www.bbc.com/news/world-australia-55667045 Back story. Joe was first believed to be an "illegal immigrant", having crossed The Pacific from the US and was scheduled for execution (Australian immigration policy in action). Turns out he may be a domestic pigeon after all. "The department is satisfied that the bird's leg band is a fraudulent copy of a legitimate leg band," the statement said, adding that no further action would be taken against the bird."

  34. Bosses (like Dragons and stuff) will be doable. Megabosses: I don't think so. The initial cave is not repersentative because a lot of builds unfold only later while some start already strong. I don't find it to be very difficult though. Peaks are Gorecci Street and the Engwithan Digsite (that early in the game).

  36. Never heard that term before Entirely anecdotal, but I've only seen secular used in the meaning of keeping state and church separate (edit: in regards to governments). Edit: As an example of a failed secular state, see Turkey. Mustafa Kemal Ataturk converted Turkey from a medieval, Muslim country into a modern (for its time) European country. Erdogan is busy dismantling all of Ataturks accomplishments and using both nationalism and religion to convert Turkey into something akin to Saudi Arabia and solidify his hold on both state and church by uniting them. Probably maneuvering around MBS as well as he can, biding his time a bit before declaring himself Caliph.

  37. It is good against low defense targets and bad against high defense ones. Whether it's the better pick for a certain chartacter on PotD is difficult to determine and it evenchanges from enemy to enemy. It surely is big fun when it triggers (and you know I favor fun over number crunching) - but I still would say that overall Lightning Strikes is the better pick if you're not dedicated to raise ACC and crit conversion and don't want to take on low defense enemies primarily. If you want to do that AND wear Sun & Moon then I would say Swift Flurry is the better pick. By the way: non-main-hand attacks that trigger Swift Flurry and/or Heartbeat Drumming will always trigger main-hand-attacks. That means you should always wear Sun & Moon in the main hand to maximize the chance for crit chances. Funnily enough the bash AND the Fire Shield attacks of Magran's Blessing will trigger main hand attacks then. That means if some enemy hits you and our Fire Shield crits them (and trigger Swift FLurry or HBD) you will instantly attack with Sun & Moon, probably setting off a crit chain. It's not really for OP's Monk/Streetfighter - but it is a cool way to combine damage with tankyness on a Monk or Monk multiclass. It may be that the retaliation attacks from Tuotilo's Palm do the same - didn't test those.

  38. Thanks for the detailed feedback. I see that you have analyzed the injury types in depth. Indeed, the very high reflex defense on this build would make hitting yourself with a fireball pretty much impossible. Perhaps the cloak is best for dual wield or two-handed build, for which the reflex defense would be much lower.

  39. Don't be silly. Obviously the Moderna and Pfizer vaccine will turn you Republican as they contain RNA- 'Republican, North America'; it's in the name sheeple. OTOH the AZOxford and Sputnik vaccines contain DNA- that's why Soros/ Gates chose adenovirus, it's a DNA virus- and will make you vote Democrat.

  40. Thank you for sharing this build, Not So Clever Hound. I have never played a SC wizard for very long, perhaps due to the complexity of choices that the class presents. But your build is appealing, so I think I'll try it. I had once question, though. Considering that you are using the Grimoire of Vaporous Wizardry and Rekvu’s Fractured Casque combo, I wonder if it might be a good idea to use Rekvu's Scorched Cloak as well instead of the Giftbearer Cloth, and take the severe burn injury instead of the acute rash.?While you'd lose some defenses, it has a nice harmony with the Belt of Magran's Chosen, since the summoned flame blight would not only help set up Wall of Draining shenanigans, but it would heal rather than harm you in the process of doing that, making the tough battles where this strategy is needed somewhat easier. Maybe it would be worth switching out robes as well when you're using the belt?

  41. the sailor experience after 4 ranks doesn't do anything. there is like one sailor that has 5 stars to start with, and they are a rare exception. for everyone else, sailor experience doesn't do anything past 4. there's also "crew experience" and that levels up your sailors for boarding fights.
    1 point
  42. My theory 1: the crew needs a certain amount of xp in order to advance in ranks. If you have 4 ranks you can still gain xp. That excess XP doesn't seem to do anything further. 2: Some crew might already come with a higher rank. But they also start at 0 xp. Maybe it's none of that, maybe one, maybe both. Anyway you def. won't feel any difference between 4 stars with 29 xp and 4 stars with 108 xp so don't bother trying to demystify this (unless you really want to of course). You could check if the master crew you can get via breath's blessings (several 4 stars) start with 0 xp and if they still gain xp. That would explain a lot I think.
