Rules of Engagement Marine Corps Rules 1. Be courteous to everyone, friendly to no one. 2. Decide to be aggressive enough, quickly enough. 3. Have a plan. 4. Have a back-up plan, because the first one probably won’t work. 5. Be polite. Be professional. But, have a plan to kill everyone you meet even your friends… 6. Do not attend a gunfight with a handgun whose caliber does not start with a “4.” 7. Anything worth shooting is worth shooting twice. Ammo is cheap. Life is expensive. 8. Move away from your attacker. Distance is your friend. (Lateral & diagonal preferred.) 9. Use cover or concealment as much as possible. 10. Flank your adversary when possible. Protect yours. 11. Always cheat; always win. The only unfair fight is the one you lose. 12. In ten years nobody will remember the details of caliber, stance, or tactics. They will only remember who lived. 13. If you are not shooting, you should be communicating your intention to shoot. Navy SEAL’s Rules 1. Look very cool in sunglasses. 2. Kill every living thing within view. 3. Adjust speedo. 4. Check hair in mirror. US Army Rangers Rules 1. Walk in 50 miles wearing 75 pound rucksack while starving. 2. Locate individuals requiring killing. 3. Request permission via radio from “Higher” to perform killing. 4. Curse bitterly when mission is aborted. 5. Walk out 50 miles wearing a 75 pound rucksack while starving. US Army Rules 1. Curse bitterly when receiving operational order. 2. Make sure there is extra ammo and extra coffee. 3. Curse bitterly. 4. Curse bitterly. 5. Do not listen to 2nd LT’s; it can get you killed. 6. Curse bitterly. US Air Force Rules 1. Have a ****tail. 2. Adjust temperature on air-conditioner. 3. See what’s on HBO. 4. Ask “what is a gunfight?” 5. Request more funding from Congress with a “killer” Power Point presentation. 6. Wine & dine ‘key’ Congressmen, invite DOD & defense industry executives. 7. Receive funding, set up new command and assemble assets. 8. Declare the assets “strategic” and never deploy them operationally. 9. Hurry to make 13:45 tee-time. 10. Make sure the base is as far as possible from the conflict but close enough to have tax exemption. US Navy Rules 1. Go to Sea. 2. Drink Coffee. 3. Deploy Marines4 points

Probably not. I'm not great in front of a camera. You can tell in the Pillars 1 documentary and an interview I did at GenCon. Josh is a Paladin/Monk, always looking for perfect balance. I can't believe it's been close to a year. I had some tragedy in my life and decided to start a new chapter. I took an amazing opportunity at FoxNext Games and even though I miss working at Obsidian, I love what I'm doing now. Kaz, the Wizard, died in my playthrough at the top level of the digsite. He got replaced by Brennecke, a wizard/druid. I feel like that fits a Programmer. Fun fact, I named the Shiba Inu pet Kaz in Deadfire because Kaz always used the doge meme in temp art/icone4 points

He's a proven liar and not even the regular politician type liar either as he doubles down his lies rather than retract them. His supporters either excuse or ignore it and it doesn't matter what his opposition thinks because you're either with him or against him. This is the state of things now. The new normal. Bruce, that's a quote from Rudy Giuliani. https://www.latimes.com/nation/la-fg-quotes-of-the-year-20181212-story.html2 points

Good Omens mini series is available on Amazon Prime. A marvelous adaptation of a book by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett. Great performance by David Tennant and Michael Sheen who lead as demon Crowley and angel Aziraphael trying to stop Apocalypse.2 points

for Berath for example you could use Death Ring as color inspiration - transition from green to black center or so. Wael could also be quite colorful like Nalpasca - but different. Ancient could be greenish at the bottom an have a gradient to blueish at the top? Fury could have white streaks or so. Stormspeaker cloudy white gradients in the corners. Troubadour needs something like a purple curtain. Berserker: red splatters all that not detailled of course but more abstract.2 points

A you intended to look on icons allday? P.S. @AndreaColombo i don't forgot about Shifting Croma and Bodyguard. They are ready, i'll add them on release.2 points

Since when does INT not affect summoned weapons' duration? Ah I guess because it's from a scroll? Speed bonuses from Lightning Strikes and Mob Stance do stack. Nice idea to use Great Sword's modal with the lashes. With Enduring Dance you get an ACC bonus that evens out the ACC malus. And once you wear the Ring of Focused Flames you'll have +10 ACC with Firebrand. Only thing I wouldn't like is using scrolls. Too bad we don't have things like Forgemaster Gloves anymore.2 points

I kinda feel bad for Beamdog if Larian or someone else makes BG3. That's not to say that I would prefer them to make it but since that was their stated long term goal at the beginning of all the EEs, I'd just feel for them.2 points

Neverwinter Nights 2: Storm of Zehir One of the Greycloaks wields only a sword, the other only a shield. I can't guess why. Neverwinter at night. Only one district was open in the expansion, though. Zacarian defeated. Somehow the battle was much harder, than the final boss of the expansion. The dead companion is my paladin. Very glad that there was an infiltration mission, where I could use all abilities of my MC. The Herald of Zehir and the other yuan-ti (forgot his name) defeated. The warlock kept damaging himself for some reason after the battle ended. On an unrelated note, is the quality of the first two images different from the rest (uploaded to the forum vs imgur)?2 points

I would really like the option to edit posts indefinitely come back. The new functionality is something like 8 days only. There are some pinned posts that have tremendous community value, like the build lists. Being able to keep those updated not only supports the community’s ability to share builds more effectively, it also encourages continued interest and excitement for the game that can continue as long as we are able to post and edit that thread. Thanks!2 points

Now I head to the Golden Temple to face my greatest enemy. An enemy so hard I couldn't finish the game. I finally did it! I was able to open the god damned door!2 points

This mod, as the name implies, allows you to tint godlikes. It also adds some more head options to those. https://www.nexusmods.com/pillarsofeternity2/mods/325 This mod is somewhat special, so you have to read the installation instructions carefully! Installation: 1. Extract the files into your "Pillars of Eternity II Deadfire" main folder (the one with the exe). You should now have two new files (RUN_FIRST!!!.exe and Tint_God_Mod.exe) in your main folder and a folder called "Tint God" inside your override folder. 2. Now run "RUN_FIRST!!!.exe" as the file says ;). Select the "Pillars of Eternity II Deadfire" main folder (the one with the game.exe) and let the patch work. You have to run "RUN_FIRST!!!.exe" every time you install the mod!!! 3. After "RUN_FIRST!!!.exe" is finished and everything was successful, run "Tint_God_Mod.exe". Again select the "Pillars of Eternity II Deadfire" main folder (the one with the game.exe) when prompted and let the patch work. After that is finished, you can start the game and should be able to tint godlikes. 4. This mod creates big backup files in "\Pillars of Eternity II Deadfire\PillarsOfEternityII_Data\assetbundles". If everything works as intended you can safely delete those backups. Compatibility: ATTENTION! This mod IS NOT compatible with Kilay's great "CC more colors" mod. You have to disable it. However, I have tried to include some of its features into this mod. This mod is halfway compatible with game patches or mods, which alter assetbundles. If a patch makes changes to "charactershd.unity3d", "characters.unity3d", "items.unity3d" or "character_headandskin_hd.unity3d" it will throw up errors for this assetbundles. The only consistent way to deal with that, is to reinstall the game, patch it and then reapply the mod, so long as no "new content" is added by a patch (new DLC releases or features like turn based mode). In that case an updated installer will be provided on the mod's nexus site. In case of other mods for assetbundles, you are safe so long those mods don't change anything about godlikes or the manifest files inside the assetbundles. Known issues: I: At game loading the characters in the Inventory screen have no body textures. S: This happens because of the game's loading priority for mods from the override folder. Just equip/unequip some armor to solve it. I: The aumaua, elf, dwraf and orlan variants of godlikes have odd or different tinting. S: That is a problem how the unity engine "generates" those races from the human raw model. I don't have a solution for this problem, yet. The human version of the godlikes should work. I: Godlikes can't be tinted. S: You either have not run "RUN_FIRST!!!.exe" or it didn't work. Restore the backups or better reinstall the game and then follow the installation instructions.1 point

So had an interesting thing happen we have been discussing in another thread here: It seems like your character in heavy battles will pick up the abilities of other characters. At first I thought it was minor as it was easy to jog my character out of it, but recently it froze one of my characters completely, couldn't move, couldn't cancel the action. I was playing a rogue trying to use one hobble or escape, but somehow my rogue ability switched to the same ability an enemy Paladin was using, Inspired Beacon or Glories Beacon. Rogue can't use the Beacon ability, but mine wanted so badly to use it the character just stopped responding to any commands . I know you are all finished updating, but if you do take one more crack at fixing bugs - I would fix this one. Thanks! Edit: It reminds me of the backer beta when characters were getting stuck in certain instances.1 point

Hey! I haven't had the opportunity to go through the last DLCs for Deadfire, so I started a new playthrough. I was feeling nostalgic for some Pillars. I decided to start a new playthrough using adventurers based on my former Obsidian co-workers. I have Berath's god challenge on, so if one of them dies, then I'll need to go and create a new dev. Josh is obviously the party leader.1 point

Glad I could help. This page should explain the defenses issue (and that guide as a whole is the best one there is for Deadfire). Wayfarer would be good because of the extra healing but any Paladin would work. Make sure you pick one you'd enjoy roleplaying because of the disposition mechanic.1 point

Good response and link, nice one But I am not suggesting Trump or Giuliani are paragons of truthfulness. They have blatantly misrepresented the truth on numerous occasions. I am saying the truth is the truth1 point

I wish I'd paid attention to exactly what I'd done, but following the "passionate and clever" options, and also choosing wisecracking options not otherwise attached to reputations (if those make any difference, who knows?), but I did indeed obtain Acute after the second, and Brilliant after the third god conversation in my current playthrough. I quick-tested my choices after the fact by casting the ability on a crew member after each god convo to verify that the inspiration upgraded. So it's possible, and next time I'll be sure to write down the full series of conversation choices.1 point

SC Helwalker was using fists. My intention when I hired the SC Helwalker merc was not to do a direct comparison between it and the Brawler; I just wanted to try WotW with the cloak. In doing so, I realized the Helwalker just felt more powerful and generally more satisfying to play despite lacking a lot of additional bonuses that my Watcher had (e.g. stat boost from Berath's Blessings, Gift from the Machine, etc.) As for speed, I use Faster Deadfire and stacking bonuses stops being effective after a while. Sure, I could stack another bonus to shave another 0.1 or 0.2 from my recovery, but 0.1/0.2 hardly make a difference. If you use Berath's Blessings to unlock Edér's pet slot and give him Nalvi, then use either Abraham or Cutthroat Cosmo for the Watcher with Armored Grace, you remove the recovery penalty completely from medium armor. EDIT: Just tried Streetfighter / Priest of Berath and it is a killing machine against mobs. I was hoping to play Tekehu as a SC Druid this time, but I'll probably need the Wisp summon to get Flanked against bosses.1 point

No, afaik all speed bonuses stack in Deadfire (I mean if applicable to your current action in the first place). They are not calculated like in PoE where every stackable additional speed bonus yielded increasing returns (when it comes to absolute frame count). In DF it's just the other way round: the more bonuses you stack the less frames every single bonus will take away. Like if you would want to empty a glass of water by repeatedly talking half out of it. Every iteration will take less water out and you can't reach complete emptyness. That's the reason why it was so easy to reach 0 recovery in PoE and why it's impossible to reach 0 in Deadfire (unless you use stuff like Blade Cascade or Blood Thirst etc. which totally omit recovery). Therefore PoE had to restrict stacking of speed bonuses (which were only recovery bonuses to begin with) to not totally break the game while DF doesn't need to.1 point

Greetings! Am I correct that what you are describing is the input issue that people are experiencing playing Outer Wilds by Mobius Digital on PC? Because this is the forum for The Outer Worlds, an entirely different game by an entirely different developer. Reddit or the Steam forums may be your best bet for additional assistance, as I do not know if Mobius has their own forums. However, the directions in the reddit thread I linked seemed to have helped the problem you may have. Good luck!1 point

I had some fun playing around with a blade master of Magran idea devoted/helwalker. Dump INT, Max DEX, PER and MIG on an elf. Stacking up every additive bonus (fighter passives, modal, etc.) and lash (iron wheel, lightening lash, magran belt) you can and toss in firebrand for fun. Its 25% fire lash is weaker than spiritual weapon maxed (I think?), but it’s duration is 60 seconds and unaffected by INT. Athletics and Contenders armor plus armored grace have a similar interaction as Palehide or miscreant’s, where you are faster than if you had no armor on (again, I’m pretty sure). The added engagement slot also gives another +5% speed with mob stance (not sure if it stacks with lightening strikes). Then stack the usual speed stuff - helm of the falcon, dex boots, etc. it seemed pretty much the idea of the lady of pain, but with a few changes. One variant is using void wheel to generate wounds and stating at range with instruments and dance of death. Voidwheel only has a 20% lash (combined), but it’s 2 other dmg types (raw and corrode). I didn’t get to test that as much, but instruments with a greatsword is pretty fun and fits the idea of someone who has honed their training with a weapon to the point where they can hit you with it from across the room.1 point

Hmmm. So it seems there is no guiding thread to gain a tier 3 inspiration ... maybe I will start a testrun.1 point

I am very critical when it comes to writing. I know this, so I try to allow for my inner editor, my demanding nature, and give people a chance. But I am not ever buying another Larian game. There comes a point when we need to stop finding fault with ourselves and accept the fact that some people should not be doing certain jobs. Larian should keep to coding, to making nice graphics, to making music. They should not have any input on the writing. They are worse than what Bioware devolved into in the Dragon Age series (whiny dialogue in a fantasy dating sim located in plot-hole central). Ironically enough, Dragon Commander was the one game were their writing mostly worked. It also was their one game were the gameplay didn't.1 point

Since I had a long week working, I cut out early today, came home to a cup of tea and then binge watched Good Omens. Interesting to see what they've cut and changed around from the books to make the tv adaption, but dang, Tenant and Sheen knock it out of the ballpark as Cowley and Aziraphale.1 point

Microsoft makes a promise to release their games at launch on steam: https://www.pcgamer.com/microsoft-games-on-steam-announced/ Really happy about that as they purchased multiple studios I am interested in. There is also this bit: Let’s hope that means we might see Obsidian and inXile stuff on GOG. Either way good news.1 point

Yeah, I see that as well. Unicode Inspector says there's some stuff in there, including a "ZERO WIDTH NO-BREAK SPACE" from the Arabic Presentation Forms-B character set. If we're back on the topic of arbitrary time limits, it would really be spiffy if the login timeout was a little more than ~5 days. I'm not sure what is critically worth protecting in our Obsidian IDs, but if you're used to checking the forums on desktop and mobile (or perhaps with even more than 2 devices), you can almost guarantee that you're constantly logging back in. If we can't get a "stay logged in" or a 90 day cookie, even logins lasting 30 or 14 days would be pretty awesome.1 point

So... this is the third time I'll mention this because it's superannoying and we got zilch reaction so far: What about the limitation of editing (currently 8 days?). I can't edit some pinned posts/threads anymore. Example: Deadfire character build list. @MaxQuest can't edit the Deadfire Polishing Poll anymore... It can't be too hard to remove this limit, can it? It wasn't there before and nobody missed it I guess. So please! Make it go away! Shooo shooo!1 point

I have tried to make looks for woedica and skaen godlikes. Both can be found under Death godlikes. Woedica godlikes: Since Woedica is supposed to be burned, old and a Queen, her godlikes have burned, leathery skin, grey hair and golden crown like hornes. Skaen godlikes: Since Skaen is pictured as disfigured and scarred and manifests as Effigy, his godlikes look also disfigured, scarred, flailed and sometimes without eyes.1 point

Yes, performance is better with 5.0, especially in crowded areas - i'm getting almost constant 60 fps with ReShade and 70-75 without one. BUT! Storm weather drops fps to 40-45, boarding fights also. Opening and closing game menu drops fps by 5-7 frames (i experienced this strange effect on two different systems). Micro freezes on assets load still there (no preload to VRAM it's a shame). And Queen's Berth + storm weather bring fps counter to 30-35 fps. So, in comparison with other games with open-world and decent graphics, Deadfire still one of the most unoptimized games ever.1 point

I am very new to KOTOR(Traditionally I have hated RPGS. Just recently got KOTOR on my tablet and I love it.) and the RPG world. But having just got KOTOR I fell in love with PAZAAK. Immediately, I thought I would surely be able to find a deck online. I was wrong. So, I did some investigating and found printing sites that allow you to print 100% customizable cards. BINGO! Now, I need to find the images. I found plenty. Some were sub par. Some were ok. Some were great, just not accurate depictions of the KOTOR cards. So, being pretty handy with Photoshop, I decided to make my own.(Currently, I am awaiting their arrival from somewhere in Hong Kong.) Anyhow, having made myself some accurate recreations, I figured there were other folks out there with the same issue. Or maybe not, as this game is old as Hell. Either way, i uploaded my PNGs to Photobucket. Feel free to use them for personal use. I would prefer you not actually sell them. But who am I, the police? http://s236.photobucket.com/user/redspin6/library/PAZAAK%20Click%20the%20thumbnails%20for%20better%20viewing Comments/Concerns/Criticism welcome. I did add a brushed metal look to the cards that you cannot see in the game. But we are talking about a decade plus old game. So, there were limitations. If you want them recreated with the flat, pale backing, let me know. I will hook you up. Also, being that I am only in KOTOR and no further, if newer games have different cards, let me know. I will create them, as well. -sinsix1 point
