Labadal Posted October 13, 2017 Posted October 13, 2017 IGN bought the Humble Bundle company. Of course that happens the month of me subscribing to their monthly bundle for the first time. 4
Bartimaeus Posted October 13, 2017 Posted October 13, 2017 wat Quote How I have existed fills me with horror. For I have failed in everything - spelling, arithmetic, riding, tennis, golf; dancing, singing, acting; wife, mistress, whore, friend. Even cooking. And I do not excuse myself with the usual escape of 'not trying'. I tried with all my heart. In my dreams, I am not crippled. In my dreams, I dance.
Blarghagh Posted October 13, 2017 Posted October 13, 2017 This is why we can't have nice things. Because large corporate publishers still exist. 3
Bartimaeus Posted October 13, 2017 Posted October 13, 2017 Well, since I've already ruled out purchasing things from Steam entirely (or virtually so - maybe one or two small Steam-only indie games a year), I guess I can only wait and see how this affects the business before I decide on alternatives. I wouldn't expect there to be much change in the short-term future (next 1-2 years), but wouldn't be surprised if things took a turn for the worse after that. Companies should really just start to have donation pages on their own company sites so that I/we can stop dealing with this crap entirely. Quote How I have existed fills me with horror. Gizmo Posted October 14, 2017 Posted October 14, 2017 (edited) I hope it wasn't a 'Pay what you want' deal.So I stop buying Humble Bundle too now; and better get anything on my account that I haven't downloaded yet; books mostly. Edited October 14, 2017 by Gizmo
Zoraptor Posted October 14, 2017 Posted October 14, 2017 (edited) At least IGN isn't owned by Rupert Murdoch any more. Dunno if Ziff Davis has any skeletons in their closet but it could scarcely be more than Uncle Rupes has. Probably will end up like GameStop buying Impulse, ie irrelevant within months. You can always write to either eurocommision or MEP of Pirate Party (or some other libertarian), but i am not sure what should be demands. lol pirates are socialists Pirate Parties are little a anarchists, which is a left libertarian philosophy. The term may have been stolen by ancaps (ie right libertarians), but it's broader than just them. Edited October 14, 2017 by Zoraptor
kirottu Posted October 14, 2017 Posted October 14, 2017 IGN bought the Humble Bundle company. Of course that happens the month of me subscribing to their monthly bundle for the first time. A company that reviews games buys a company that sells games. What could possibly go wrong here? This post is not to be enjoyed, discussed, or referenced on company time.
HoonDing Posted October 14, 2017 Posted October 14, 2017 i trust IGN, they had good reviews in 1998 The ending of the words is ALMSIVI.
Labadal Posted October 14, 2017 Posted October 14, 2017 i trust IGN, they had good reviews in 1998 They closed 1UP, direct2drive and some other stuff they purchased. Humble will be fine for a time. Humble not only sells games, they are also publishing a few titles.

Azdeus Posted October 14, 2017 Posted October 14, 2017 (edited) Ubisoft details South Park: Fractured But Whole's seaons pass Edited October 14, 2017 by Azdeus Civilization, in fact, grows more and more maudlin and hysterical; especially under democracy it tends to degenerate into a mere combat of crazes; the whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, most of them imaginary. - H.L. Wormerine Posted October 14, 2017 Posted October 14, 2017 Ubisoft details South Park: Fractured But Whole's seaons pass Very much “Fractured” then. 4
Katphood Posted October 14, 2017 Posted October 14, 2017 (edited) Dead Rising 4 is getting a release on the PS4 so I'll just put this here... Edited October 14, 2017 by Katphood There used to be a signature here, a really cool one...and now it's gone.
Labadal Posted October 14, 2017 Posted October 14, 2017 I had South Park on my wishlist, but it has now made thousands of other games company in my "Not interested" category. 5
HoonDing Posted October 14, 2017 Posted October 14, 2017 Gamespot will buy Larian The ending of the words is ALMSIVI.
Orogun01 Posted October 14, 2017 Posted October 14, 2017 Gamespot will buy Larian Please tell me you're lying. I'd say the answer to that question is kind of like the answer to "who's the sucker in this poker game?"* *If you can't tell, it's you.
Keyrock Posted October 14, 2017 Posted October 14, 2017 I had South Park on my wishlist, but it has now made thousands of other games company in my "Not interested" category. My stance on ridiculous season pass/greedy DLC scheme games is slightly softer than my stance on loot box gambling/exploitative microtransactions games. The season pass games go into the "I'll think about it when a complete edition is out AND said complete edition is at least 66% off on a sale" folder. The loot box gambling games go into the "will never purchase at any price ever" folder. 3 RFK Jr 2024 "Any organization created out of fear must create fear to survive." - Bill Hicks
Jozape Posted October 14, 2017 Posted October 14, 2017 Gamespot will buy Larian Please tell me you're lying. Considering how much love they throw towards D:OS2 I wouldn't be surprised if someone there wants to purchase Larian.
Katphood Posted October 15, 2017 Posted October 15, 2017 So it is the age of gaming critics buying companies and developers now?! Gamespot should hire a team and make a sequel to Kingdoms of Amalur, then I will like them...a little. 3 There used to be a signature here, a really cool one...and now it's gone.

Gorgon Posted October 15, 2017 Posted October 15, 2017 Wow...just WOW!!! If there are som UK guys on this forums, there is already petition running to age restrict this kind of gambling in games. Please support it, if you hate this practice. https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/201300 Please share the word to your friends as well. The more countries start some legislation against this ****, the better. Well, it says 'Only British citizens or UK residents have the right to sign'. That makes me a sad kitteh. I stopped going to Gamestop after I found out the sellers have a quota. If you go in an buy one new game you **** up their day. They have to sell you two used games for every one new. They keep all the profit on a used game. If their stats don't show that they get fired. It's so two decades ago. There is just so much social engineering going on, every seller is your best friend and tries to remember your name, makes me wann puke. 3 Na na na na na na ... greg358 from Darksouls 3 PVP is a CHEATER. That is all.
Hurlshort Posted October 15, 2017 Posted October 15, 2017 Huh, I have never had that experience at Gamestop. I would never refer to any of the people that work there as friendly. Sorry Calax!
Gorgon Posted October 15, 2017 Posted October 15, 2017 Well, regardless they are surely going the way of Blockbuster sooner or later. No need for physical media anymore. Na na na na na na ... greg358 from Darksouls 3 PVP is a CHEATER. That is all.
Katphood Posted October 15, 2017 Posted October 15, 2017 No need for physical media anymore. That is true. However, people nowadays tend to love collecting physical goods and showing off their collections on teh interwebz. I am no exception myself. I think physical media still has a place, in console gaming at least. I wish more people would practice what Sony does: let people be able to buy and keep digital games with the use of pre-paid cards, even if they don't happen to own a credit card. 1 There used to be a signature here, a really cool one...and now it's gone.
