--Installing Steam and BL2 on my other PC just so I can "rush" myself. I miss being able to run 2 instances of the game with BL1, on a single PC...

--Looking at the number of prayer-invoked coins on my main NWO chr, I can't believe it's been over 5 months since I first installed that game. I wonder what will happen first: I finally get the 360-coin companion, or I stop caring about even minimal logging in to pray etc.

Sandboxie can be used to run more than one instance of a game, (and pretty much everything else - I, for example, run two Steam accounts on one computer). :) (It's supposed to be an antivirus tool of sorts, but it has other uses.)

How I have existed fills me with horror. For I have failed in everything - spelling, arithmetic, riding, tennis, golf; dancing, singing, acting; wife, mistress, whore, friend. Even cooking. And I do not excuse myself with the usual escape of 'not trying'. I tried with all my heart.

In my dreams, I am not crippled. In my dreams, I dance.

Risen 2 - So I got to Puerto Isabella, the Inquisitions stronghold on the island.  I mingled with the locals, charmed a couple ladies, and ran some errands.  It never hurts to make friendly with the locals, plus I get to make some coin in the process.  One of the ladies in town is willing to pay me 100 gold for each bottle of red wine I procure for her.  Dang, that's some expensive wine, especially considering she's gotta make profit on it too.  At this point I had been collecting animal parts, digging up treasure, and using my pickpocketing skills for a good while, so I wasn't hurting for money, but more is always nice, considering the high prices of learning skills.  (Pro-tip: Always get items that extract valuables and ingredients off corpses, like the bone saw and skinning knife, as early as possible.  They will pay for themselves quite quickly)  Snooping around town I noticed all the cannons they have scattered around town, pretty impressive.  That may come into play later on when it's time to leave the island.  It's been a long time since I played the game, so I don't remember if I'll be using the cannons or sabotaging them, probably depends on which side I'll pick (Spoiler: I'm siding with the natives)

Heading back out of town, I rescued Tahana (the missing native) from the Blue Coats, not a difficult proposition, because the guard dropped the key in the yard in front of the prison.  We hoofed it back to their village after finding an idol he ditched before getting nabbed by the Inquisition.  Tahana took a different path to the village than his buddy who had led me around earlier.  I got to go by the Earth Temple where Crow, his pirate goons, and the natives he's got under his control are preparing for some ritual that I probably shouldn't let happen.  I can't go there now, though, I'd get skewered but quick.  I need to get some allies first.

Back in the village, I'd now earned the trust of Chani, the chieftain's daughter.  Her pops is helping out Crow because he's scared ****less of the Titans, but Chani's not down with that because she knows what Crow is doing is only going to bring ruin and death.  She's still uneasy about helping out whitey, but she's willing to let me learn voodoo, if the ancients approve.  Guess I need to have a talk with a ghost.  Off to the nearby temple we go.  The conversation with Mr. Ghosty didn't go as smoothly as I had hoped.  He didn't seem all that eager to let whitey learn voodoo.  Once I invoked the name Mara, though, he changed his tune.  Guess homeslice has no love for Mara, and since I'm looking to snuff her out, the enemy of my enemy and all that goodness.  So now the voodoo priestesses are willing to teach me voodoo.  I learned how to make a scepter and brew potions, got me a schematic for a Scepter of Power (I happened to already have all the necessary ingredients on me), and learned how to make potions far more effective, which will be quite helpful in the future.

Now that I know some Voodoo 101, it's time to get things in motion to get to Crow.  Things won't be that easy, though.  I can't just come waltzing down to the Earth Temple, it's heavily guarded and I won't exactly be welcome.  Still, I need to get something personal off the chieftain so that we can work some voodoo magic on him.  I can't get to the Earth Temple without a fight (that I would surely lose), but delivery boy Jim can.  Looks like it's time to put my new found voodoo skills to use...

I get nostalgic enjoyment from your updates of Risen 2, it reminds me of all the things I also did in the game :)

M&MX:Legacy. After the patch the game looks and feels much better for reasons I can't really point out. I've no idea what else the patch did but the better barter screen and fixed some bugs, but it does feel better overall. Still tries to fry my GPU though.

How has that been? I'm feeling the need to play something old-school right now.

Finally got Saints Row IV. Created a new boss because...no voice of my old Boss.

Not gotten far into it yet.

It's Might & Magic, it really does feel like old school, turn-based Might & Magic.  I like it quite a bit.  Keep in mind, though, that the game is in an alpha state right now.

This weekend we're going to try 4-player BL2 with only 2 active players. Two 'placeholder' characters  that never move from the fast travel points on secondary PC's (they get auto-dragged with you when you load new areas) and then us playing on our main PC's. I'm mostly curious how much tougher it really is. Plus the non-playing chrs. can have helpful team-mods on, like some low level ammo regen. This should be interesting.

Warcraft, Rome 2, GTA V, and am probably gonna start a new AC:3 play through to remember the game and re-familiarize myself with the mechanics to prep for AC: Black Flag.

It's not the screenshot thread, sure, but no point posting there and then linking here IMO;

I suck. Though the disrepecy with the worlds average damage is astounding. I suppose I didn't even do that bad with 10x less damage.

Next time; more weapon upgrades.

Report of the last few days;

* First mission again mutons where introduced. I defeated them. Sadly enough my highest medic I made a mistake with. Thought I targeted an area on the roof, instead dropped down, right in the enemies LOS. Got shot... lucky, critical, 3 rounds. Couldn't revive since he had the only medic pack. Sadly enough, everyone started missing, and of course just the round after he passed away the enemy got defeaten :/

* Had a VIP escort mission. Figured the VIP could jump a wall like my troops. No, he couldn't. Instead the click let him to a overwatch shot and death because his turn ended wide open... *sigh*

* UFO landing. First encounter with the so-called 'disk.' Learned about it being healed, and lost a full squad of rookies without a single kill.

* Terror mission. About 6 crysalids in, and only 4 civilians found (all killed), my team was 1 down, with 3 on 1 health. So decided to retreat.

Without alloys to make weapons and armor, and not getting any failing all the time, I decided to just get to the end of it. Sattelites got attacked, ships got shot down without being able to make a single counter-shot, it was the end.

End movie, end-score as seen above.

EARTH HAS FALLEN. JULY 2015... RIP.

Better luck next earth xD

Risen 2: Dark Waters - your typical Piranha Bytes game. Love the dialogues, though the setting could be a little more, say, original, rather than copy/pasting voodoo and pirates bolting it on the original Risen setting. Pretty fun otherwise.

Wargame: European Escalation - OMG WHAT IS GOING ON WHY IS EVERYONE KILLING ME ;_; AKA Tagz discovers a truly strategic game and struggles to adapt after World in Conflict and Company of Heroes.

Europa Universalis IV - finally completed the Crusader Kings II chapter of my megagame, time to lead the Intermarium into GLORIOUS FUTURE.

I beat the world average by a fair margin on classic difficulty, I'm holding off on starting a new campaign till 12 (or was it 15?) november, when enemy within comes out.

Although... it is tempting. I've also never played multiplayer, because I like taking my time, but perhaps it's interesting to find out how I would fair against other humans.

Anyway, I'm trying to finish a bunch of smaller games I've bought in humble bundles and steam sales.

Risen 2 - I arrived at Antigua to find out Admiral Alvarez, the man who founded and runs this settlement, has put up a trade embargo, meaning neither I, nor anyone else, can buy supplies...  not the traditional way, anyway.  I met up with Captain Slayne, who owns one of the artifacts I need.  He agreed to take me to it, but he can't leave the port without supplies.  I see where this is going.

Anyway, time to explore the island and see who and what else is around here.  Plenty of beasties out in the jungle and on the beaches for me to deal with.  Luckily, I've gotten powerful enough that I don't have to avoid certain areas any more.  That doesn't mean that I can be reckless and allow myself to get swarmed, but I can confidently fight most enemies now and win as long as I don't get stupid.  Eventually I ran into my old buddy, the druid Eldric.  Seems he's got a bit of a gargoyle problem.  I see where this is going.  Gargoyles are capable of dishing out massive amounts of damage quickly, but can be relatively easily beaten if you know their patters and don't get "greedy" (get in a power attack and one more slash, then roll out of there before the gargoyle retaliates, don't try to get in an extra slash or two).  The main thing is getting them one on one.  Fighting two or more at a time tends to be detrimental to my health.  After dealing with the gargoyles, Eldric agreed to come aboard my ship.  He's helped me in the past, so its good to have him with me.  He's looking for some place called the Air Temple.  I have a good idea of where it is, but before I do that I'm going to make a run back to Tacarigua to get rum for the tavern keeper here in Antigua, then back to the Sword Coast to get some more voodoo training.

With enough skill, voodoo curses can be rather useful, turning a tough enemy into a push over, but they use up curse dolls, so I barely use them.  Still, it's a useful thing to know, especially once I learn the most powerful curse, for fights with really tough enemies.  Like all voodoo spells, curses have the distinct disadvantage of taking a really long time to cast, so it's best to use them as you're approaching an enemy and they're still far enough away that you can get the curse cast before they get to you and disrupt the spell.

Let's go see if this Air Temple is where I think it is...

I'm not very far, but it does feel positively oldschool. I like it. Combat is pretty fast for a turnbased game, and so far very satisfying. What rough edges it has, should be ironed out as early access progresses and provides the devs more feedback. I'd recommend giving it a shot.

Started up a game of Resident Evil Revelations.  I already knew it was a great game, I have it on 3DS also, and it's my favorite 3DS game and favorite Resi game, my only concern was how would the controls translate to the PC.  So far so good.  The controls feel responsive and intuitive.  They did a good job, for the most part, upscaling the models and textures from a 400X200 pixel screen to HD sizes, though there are occasions where there will be a horribly low res looking texture really clashing with the nice HD models and textures around it.  So far this mostly seems to happen in cutscenes.  Anyway, I'll mostly give this a rest for now, I just wanted to see how the game controlled.  Gonna jump back into Risen 2 and finish that up before I dive headlong into Resi Revelations.

Fun fact: In the demo you could turn mouse acceleration off. In the full game, you can't.

Yes you can.  I know because I turned it off.  I also turned off aim assist.  They added the options in a patch:

Is revelations similar to say, RE5?

No.  It's a throw back to the series roots, it's a lot more like Resi 1 & 2.  Slow pacing, claustrophobic spaces, mounting tension, just without the horrific camera and controls of the old Resi games.
