My #1 main problem with this show was:

-- The actor Jonathan Banks (whom I like/admire much), being only human, looks so much older than he did in Breaking Bad that I simply cannot "leave brain at the door" enough to go with the notion that the series is set before Breaking Bad. Sorry, Mr. Banks. :p

That bothered me a bit in the beginning but I eventually stopped caring by the time he quit the ticket booth. It helps when he's doing something else than sitting, staring and cashing in parking tickets.

Edit:

Oh! Oh! Spoiler warning for Better Call Saul, Mike eventually does business with Jimmy and the Mexican drug cartel. What a shocker. ;)

Even Bob Odenkirk looks older than he should be. I simply assume that they are telling their story to someone the way they remember it and they can't help but imagine themselves as they are "now".

I'm not sure if that makes sense...

That's actually a cool way to rationalize the discrepancy. Sort of a variation on the unreliable narrator, but in this case it's the unreliable casting director.

I'm a huge BB fan and I've obiously watched the entire BCS series too. I never had felt like they look much older than they do, that's a bit exalted.

I'm enjoying BCS so much actually - really well done series too imo. Orbs It is not as fantastic and as intriguing as breaking bad, but there's less chaos and just seems to me like a bit more calm version of BB kindof lol.

Really looking forward and wondering when and how Heisenberg crosses the series=D

Actually the character that definitely looks older is Mike's granddaughter. I think she is actually older than her future self. lol

Edit: Ok, it is not really that bad. On the right is she in BCS (5 years old) and on the left on BB (10 years old).

First episode of The Haunting of Hill House did very well in creating a massive feeling of unease. Brr.

Watched this last night, and I'd agree. Very well done in that regard. Unease, curious dread, more unease.

I watched the 2nd episode as well and that one didn't work quite as well for me (still good, I just didn't feel much dread anymore), although at this point in my life I'd say that's more "my fault" than a show's fault. :p

At any rate, looks to be a well done show for those who like suspenseful, hits you in the brain type horror. Very atmospheric.

Ok, gone through 5 episodes of Haunted Hill. Ep. 2 and 3 were a little iffy for me (maybe I just didn't like certain characters?) but 4 and 5 picked up again/were awesome.

Watched the whole season. The ending was a bit tame but otherwise I loved it. Highlight for me was that one episode that was maybe 5 shots in total. Not much of an adaptation of the book (some names and ideas at most) but it's own thing.

I backed the new season on Kickstarter for a good deal of money and am now not legally allowed to watch it.

And the corprorate fatcats wonder why piracy runs rampant.

L0L The big FU to Roseanne dropped another 20%ish in the ratings. Now just under 7.9 mil compared to the 10.56 mil from its premiere. HAHAHAHAHAHA!

Again, this is to clarify. SHOCKING. A show called Roseanne based around her style of comedy loses it star while BELITTLING, SHAMING AND GETTING  OFF  on the afct that the fiction of  the show allows you to murder her (like the producers want to do in real life) loses a huige chunk of its fanbase should not a shock.

The arrogance to think you can continue Roseanne without Roseanne simply by changing the name is ridiculous, moronic, arrogant, shortsighted, and self promotional egotism by people like Gilbert. The fact she thinks she has the star power  to be the lead is funny.

Glad to hear the Roseanne-less Roseanne is a dud, but I just can't buy the whole narrative that comedy is dead in a new PC world. I mean, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia is like in season 15, and Rick and Morty creators are being given Star Trek.

Is there any way to buy Japanese dubbed dvd/bluray of American shows that will play in US players?
I would really like Supernatural season 4-7 with Japanese audio, because ... #1, Kenjiro Tsuda as Castiel and #2, it's hilarious. They actually matched tonal qualities of Dean pretty well, too.

Also: Haunted Hill House, agree the last episode (or last 1.5 episodes) kind of went off the rail but overall it's still worth the watch. The "dramatic logic" of how they leave it made me frown a lot tho.

Castlevania via Netflix, is uneven but I'd say it's watchable. Never played the games but even so, it's far better than most game-to-TV/film works. But because of my current VA obsessions I wish Netflix in my area had the Japanese audio dub track available...Chinese, French etc but not Japanese. Pffft on you, Netflix.

This new Witcher TV show costume teaser looks really good, imo. Not that you can see much, but so far I have nothing to complain about. It's one of the shows I'm really waiting for now.

Sure, once they fix his eyebrows, give him a bunch of scars and make him wear contacts, he may remind somebody of Geralt. Nah, can't do it. Still too handsome.

Triss Merigold:

As some sage succintly put it: "I've seen better casting on pornhub".

Sort of looks closer to Geralt in TW1's cinematics. Not really sure what happened with Triss' casting - hair colour differing from game isn't an issue as they got that wrong anyway in the game, if I recall.
