Sorting out the stacks: is there an accessible list of which affects actually stack
AndreaColombo replied to Baldiedash's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)I haven't tested it, but all the signals point to yes (both are passives, and passives always stack.)

Let's try again. Priest of Woedica and Steel Garrote as playable classes. DO IT!
AndreaColombo replied to AndreaColombo's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)The answer is in the previous page of this thread, along with screenshots of all unique abilities that are already in the game for both classes (indeed, Priest of Woedica just might be the Priest subclass with the most unique spells, and they all have unique icons to go with them.) They need descriptions for their unique abilities, maybe an icon for the Garrote ability (would be nice to have but not strictly necessary), and in-game reactivity. Mechanics are all already there to the point that modders can already make both classes available (and they have.) Damn straight! I've exchanged PMs with Dimitri and he said he'll let me know if/when he's tasked to do it; been holding my breath ever since and I sure hope he PMs soon before I die a horrible, suffocating death XD

Sorting out the stacks: is there an accessible list of which affects actually stack
AndreaColombo replied to Baldiedash's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)If the first game is any indication, it's intended behavior. Actives only fail to stack if they boost the same thing (e.g. two active abilities granting a bonus to Deflection don't stack); if they boost different things, they are meant to stack (and a bonus "to all defenses" is different from a bonus "to Deflection.")

Sorting out the stacks: is there an accessible list of which affects actually stack
AndreaColombo replied to Baldiedash's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)General rule is that passives stack and actives don’t; modals count as active.

Dual-wielding, full attacks, and recovery
Any idea whether the max damage roll solution is moddable? If it is, it would be great to try out and give Obsidian feedback based on user experience. It made a difference during the beta.

Spirit Frenzy and Spells
Very nice and interesting find!

Dual-wielding, full attacks, and recovery
I made a small mod for personal use that brings weapon recovery times back to what they were in the first iteration of the Deadfire beta (1s shorter across the board.) Plays so much better. In that context recovery penalties are more acceptable; recovery bonuses less necessary. I like the idea of giving 2H a max damage roll on full attacks; not sure how to make 1H more attractive though.

Let's try again. Priest of Woedica and Steel Garrote as playable classes. DO IT!
AndreaColombo replied to AndreaColombo's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Let's whet people's appetite in case they didn't know these classes are actually already in the game. It's worth noting that none of these class-specific abilities has a description, so providing these options to the player would also require that they be written. The ability "Garrote" effectively replaces Lay on Hands, but it would make sense for it to have its own separate, unique icon. Steel Garrote Priest of Woedica It's also worth noting that the Writ of Sorcery is possibly too powerful for a PL VII spell if given to the player—and I say that against the best interest of my inner powergamer. It would probably make sense to swap it with the Writ of Mending, which is currently PL IX, so that only pure-class Priests of Woedica could get it.

Dual-wielding, full attacks, and recovery
Agreed.

Let's try again. Priest of Woedica and Steel Garrote as playable classes. DO IT!
AndreaColombo replied to AndreaColombo's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)I think this should do. I'd expect a Watcher who belongs to the Steel Garrote or Priesthood of Woedica to have special interactions with the goddess herself when summoned by Berath, as well as with other members of the Priesthood/Paladinhood when they meet (possibly leading to a different path to the quest's resolution.)

What Weapons Have Elemental Damage Types? (Like Lord Darryn's Voulge)
Correct, I’m currently on the beta branch.

What Weapons Have Elemental Damage Types? (Like Lord Darryn's Voulge)
Should be sold by the merchant in Port Maje, IIRC. It wasn’t there for me though, so it might require starting a new game. I consoled it in to check it out.

As mentioned above, the new hunting bow also deals pierce/shock.

^ assume you meant WotEP as BotEP doesn’t have a cone attack.

So my recent Sanguine Plate campaign made pretty clear how much Obsidian are keen on player feedback. I was/am very passionate about that armor, I requested it here and on Reddit, and next thing I know they're looking into it for a future DLC. While I'm still high on the state of elation this put me into, I thought, why not try this again? Allow me to present exhibit A, from this transcript of the 7th Q&A session with Josh Sawyer: Since the game's release, nothing more's been said on these classes—and now that the Beast of Winter is about to be released, I believe we ought to let Obsidian know we still wish we could have them (provided that's the case) if we're to have any hope it'll happen. So who's with me? Who else would like the Priest of Woedica and Steel Garrote Paladin subclasses to become available to the Watcher with all due in-game reactivity?

Beta Patch 2.0 is live...and so far it looks more like a 1.5
AndreaColombo replied to Purudaya's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)FWIW, I view the removial of the infinite recursive procs as a bugfix, rather than a rebalancing act.

Update #52 - Beast of Winter Preview
Thankfully, Deadfire makes that fairly easy to mod so you should be able to play around with the cool tools eventually (and my guess is actually fairly soon after the DLC's release.) Personally, when I get a new companion and their race and class are from the same list I have access to as a player (i.e. no unique race or subclass), I'm underwhelmed. "Oh yeah, more of the same I could already have for my character. Nothing special for me to see here. Moving along..." Obviously that's not always necessarily the case and there can be (and there are) great characters who are great by virtue of their personality and story arc, despite having "standard" races and classes. I'm just making a broad statement about how I feel on average when I recruit companions. Those with unique stuff I couldn't normally get have that extra kick that makes me want them and like them more.

[BUG in v1.22] Citzal's Enchanted Armory produces permanent items

Itemization is great this time around. We need more
AndreaColombo replied to aphotic's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Sword of Daenysis has both Speed and Rending, which couldn’t be enchanted. As an aside, “Speed” was my favorite enchantment of all because my play style heavily favors fast-paced aggro.

Beta Patch Notes for Version 2.0.0
What you can do is hit your party members with it once out of combat to instill the essence in them; being out of combat, they regenerate almost instantly. If they are killed in combat, they spawn a friendly creature. Does that work?
