So it turns out that Spirit Frenzy will apply staggered on spells, including those that do no damage (ie pure debuffs). Not sure if this is widely known or not but I was pleasantly surprised when Serafen cast Phantom Foes on a room full of mobs and they all received staggered as well as flanked! Thought at first maybe it was a wild surge, but no it is clearly listed on the mobs as being from Spirit Frenzy.

Yes! I'm playing a nuking Warlock right now and that effect is very, very good. I think this will get fixed/nerfed. Blood Frenzy only works on weapon (and Carnage?) hits and so I guess Spirit Frenzy is supposed to work the same way. At least it shouldn't trigger on hit rolls that deal no damage (like huge CC spells - just my opinion). If it's intended like it is: even better! :)

It's possible it is intended, in that how is a CC spell supposed to make something bleed? Or a fireball for that matter? Whereas staggering can happen from anything with sufficient force (physical or mental).

Though seeing as neither of them make specific mention of weapon attacks, yet only one of them works on non-weapon "attacks", it is probably unintended. Will enjoy it while I can though.

Blood Frenzy requires a crit, which Carnage cannot do. The conditions are otherwise similar to Spirit Frenzy, so as long as you crit with the spell you should be good. The reason for this is because neither Blood Frenzy, Blood Storm, Spirit Frenzy, or Spirit Tornado status effect objects filter for specific keywords.

For instance, if you wanted to make a mod that caused all Monastic Unarmed Training attacks to Distract on graze, hit, or crit, you can pretty much copy paste Spirit Frenzy/Tornado's "hits cause stagger" effect and just replace the status effect it would apply on trigger with a Distract effect from somewhere else. Then add the unarmed keyword to the KeywordIDs under Attack Filter as well as the proper ID to the Monastic Unarmed Training ability. Bam, instant over powered unarmed attacks.

It is indeed. Also works with chanter's offensive phrases by the way. A Skald/Barb I tested just five minutes ago was staggering foes with Soft Winds. :) Pretty nasty...

Spirit Frenzy is the 'spiritual' version of Frenzy, so I'd really like this this to be an intended thing, and not just a bug. It just seems so fitting, and is great for Barb/Magic multiclass.

It does not seem fitting to me since there is no spell inflicting Staggered.
