AndreaColombo replied to AndreaColombo's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Let me bump this back to page 1 just in case some Sanguine Plate lovers missed it earlier and want to chime in They fixed the Sanguine Blade texture and Magran knows how much I want to play a red-skinned Island Aumaua wielding that sword while wearing the Sanguine Plate. (Yes, color-matching is a big deal for me )

Beast of Winter Interview(s?) with BAdler
AndreaColombo replied to Enoch's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)It’s hard to design a rest system that encourages proper resting schedules without resorting to making the rest mechanic inconvenient for players IRL.

Beast of Winter Interview(s?) with BAdler
AndreaColombo replied to Enoch's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Wouldn’t cooldowns feel like an artificial, MMORPG-like gameplay limitation? I mean, per-rest is also an artificial limitation in itself; so is per-encounter. However there is something about cooldowns than just rubs me the wrong way for some reason.

Beast of Winter Interview(s?) with BAdler
AndreaColombo replied to Enoch's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)I'll admit I'm a little disappointed at the DLC's being aimed at characters "only" 14th-15th level, as I was hoping for more level 19-20 content. Hopefully it'll stay challenging with level scaling. It'll be interesting to see what Trinkets they're adding and what they bring to the table, much as I'm not a fan of per-rest resources (I tend to never use them just in case I need them in a tougher fight before resting again.) I'm also quite intrigued by the Deck of Many Things DLC—both for the items it sells and for the allegedly toughest ship fight in the game (I hope the "toughest" qualifier is also true if you choose to close to board.)

Update #52 - Beast of Winter Preview
I'll bite for this once, but if this ventures further into "nitpicking semantics" territory I'll simply let go. Obsidian has never, to the best of my knowledge, communicated to us about the quality of their physical goods. Certainly not in any recent backer updates. From which it logically ensues that if I talk about Obsidian's communication with regards to their physical goods, I cannot possibly be referring to their quality, about which Obsidian hasn't been communicating. They have, however, been communicating about the timeline for delivery, which is the very subject people are complaining about—you included. Again, the logical conclusion to draw when I mention Obsidian's communication re their physical goods, is that I'm referring to their communicating about the delivery timeline. Moving on to the rest of the sentence, "they" refers to Obsidian and not to the Deadfire goods. I was specifically challenging your point about Obsidian doing as bad with the Deadfire's physical goods as inXile did with T:ToN's (in general terms; inXile also ended up giving buyers of the retail CE a better deal than to backers, which Obsidian hasn't done as far as I'm aware.) I'll concede my wording wasn't perhaps the clearest, but implicitly accusing me of intellectual dishonesty was uncalled for.

Update #52 - Beast of Winter Preview
I cannot, and I didn't. All I did was state that the quality of the T:ToN physical good was poor, which it was.

Update #52 - Beast of Winter Preview
Worse than WL2, possibly. I have no experience of WL2's fulfillment so I cannot comment to that effect. Worse than T:ToN, however, not really. The way physical goods were handled for T:ToN, and the quality thereof, was abysmal. Obsidian made a faux pas with communication re Deadfire's physical goods, but in no way are they T:ToN-tier bad.

[Guide]Limited Resources Locations
Gating important stuff behind the RNG seems like something Obsidian just considers good practice, for some reason.
- OBS made melee class in multi desireable too much
- [CLASS BUILD] The Deep Leap - deceiving and evading AoE *boooom* Scout
-
Reaper of Souls - Devoted/Soul Blade (Fighter/Cipher)
How come you didn't pick "Recall Agony"? It's very powerful on a melee damage-dealer.

Od Nua statue (basically a begging post)
AndreaColombo replied to Auspex Hexprone's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)I don't believe anybody's received their Elite Collector's Edition yet. I doubt I'll unbox mine, but yeah—would love to see an unboxing video with details of each item it includes

Blade of the Endless Paths enchantments?
Going by memory cause I’m on my smartphone, there’s a stacking Deflection debuff on Crit (-4) and a stacking Accuracy bonus (I think +2 on Crit up to a max of +10)

Beast of Winter DLC Announcement
AndreaColombo replied to Infinitron's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)If the new content is challenging for a 20th-level party, I’ll finally get to enjoy the full extent of my power the way it was meant to be enjoyed. Being at the apex is a lot more enjoyable than the process of reaching it for me.

What specific process did the Engwithans use to create the Gods?
AndreaColombo replied to Stardusk78's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Stories (Spoiler Warning!)Guess Thaos's (and the Engwithans') point was, if they could advance animancy enough to find out there were no gods, sooner or later other kith would too. They chose to manufacture gods for kith to find if/when they ever got there, and proselytize in the interim to make sure kith behaved regardless.

AndreaColombo replied to Vaneglorious's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)And in order to issue his unsolicited ultimatum, he first provokes a war that takes countless lives across Raedceras and the Dyrwood, then turns himself into a giant walking biawac that kills countless kith just passing by. He's a fracking psychopath is what he is.- Beast of Winter DLC Announcement
AndreaColombo replied to Infinitron's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)It's definitely not soulbound (just checked), but it's definitely pretty sweet.- [HELP] Spear and Shield
Very interesting stuff as always, Boeroer- What specific process did the Engwithans use to create the Gods?
AndreaColombo replied to Stardusk78's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Stories (Spoiler Warning!)Well, the entire plot of both games revolves around the gods and their artificial, man-made nature. It is only fair that we try to understand the lore and its ramifications—and at least as far as I’m concerned, RL parallels make the discussion even more interesting.- Update #52 - Beast of Winter Preview
But more importantly, will any of the next DLCs have a badass red plate armor like the Sanguine Plate? For really—if not, life has no meaning.- [Updated] Higher is Always Harder: A Difficulty Tweak - Now with New Penetration Rules
AndreaColombo replied to zilbest's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire: Modding (Spoiler Warning!)Just my .02, but personally I’m not a fan of giving enemies a speed advantage. Speed, more so in Deadfire than in PoE, is the king of DPS; and contrary to, say, Accuracy and HP, it doesn’t scale with level (so it feels like a fairly artificial boost to an enemy’s dangerousness.) It doesn’t help that Deadfire is obnoxiously slow on average, but that’s another matter.- Update #52 - Beast of Winter Preview
I'll echo the sentiment that Vatnir's model looks amazing. Same with the dragon, to be honest. Is the Priest of Rymrgand class unique to him? Is he getting any new, unique spells besides the spiritual weapon and the aspect of Rymrgand? Also, please show us the spiritual weapons and some unique items—we wanna play the fashion game!- [Updated] Higher is Always Harder: A Difficulty Tweak - Now with New Penetration Rules
AndreaColombo replied to zilbest's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire: Modding (Spoiler Warning!)You may wasn’t to ask MaxQuest for help with formula tweaking—he’s really good at that stuff I’ll be trying this mod for sure next time I play. Thanks for making it!- What specific process did the Engwithans use to create the Gods?
AndreaColombo replied to Stardusk78's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Stories (Spoiler Warning!)Will they, though? We see the Eoran gods punish the Watcher for breaking a promise made to them (i.e. knowingly crossing them) but they don’t seem to be fighting for kith attention. Unlike in D&D, where gods are powered by the faith of their worshippers and can die if that wanes too much, in Eora the gods can live and prosper even if kith never gave a damn. Granted, they do have a specific “order” in mind, each for their portfolio. Kith who try to subvert that order may incur the relevant god’s ire, but I think that’s about it. A kith who gives no damns isn’t going to be pursued. - Lore questions that confuse me (SPOILERS)
