  1. I love Liches, I love Necromancers, I love (killing) the Tzimisce. I would really hate to see Transhuman-gore-monsters as the main shock-troop of the enemy. Let us be surprised when we meet the Bonecrafter.
  2. If it doesn't come out with the game itself we may see it in the expansion pack. Being able to mod your own races, classes and story would be a wonderful feature.
  3. TBH I'd rather have a legion of Beastmen deep in the woods than the ratlings but I would settle for both.
  4. I think the subclass would be either Cipher or Mage, drawing power from mundane sources such as alchemy. Surely there are many mages who was philosophic on the meaning and true nature of magic and the existential consequences thereof, but there are yet those who merely take magic as they encounter it. Rational study of magic could lead to interesting modern(ish) mage outcomes. Letting the Naturalist mage eschew their tomes at the cost wild random spell effects plus variables on ingredients and skill level. Really I want to turn them into Scientific Wild Mages.
  5. It would be a great if there was a completely ranged fighter subclass.
  6. Furries ruin everything. Anyhow, I hope ratlings are at least an enemy in the game. We don't see them used often enough. Imagine them, skaven-like, with their volly of homemade rifles. If there is plague in the lands, there are likely to be rats nearby.
  7. What is there to think about? Nothing says be aware, like some heads on pikes. Exept big sign held by trained Ogre that says BE AWARE, but in this day and age, you can never rely on common folk's reading ability. People take you more serously whn you are more, eh graphic You would also have to assume that the ogre would hold the sign facing the right direction. Or that he won't eat the sign. It's hard to find good Ogre help these days. The ability to enhance the stronghold as a reflection of your character could really help make it feel like a home away from (player) home. I have a lot of questions about what we will be able to do with our land. Will you accept farmers to work the surrounding lands? Will you animate skeletons to work the fields? Do you recruit hunters for guards, Orcs or death-cultists? Should you train militia archers, Barbarian knaves or Monks? What Gods will be honored in the Keep's temple? Will there be a temple at all? How expansive will your dungeon be? Will it be a basic jail, torture chamber or gladiatorial pit? Can you build a moat and fill it with aquatic horrors or Weresharks? Are the fields around your keep used for farming or left to grow? If they farm what do they farm? Are there bees? Can you make mead? Exactly who is allowed to settle in the community around your keep? Who gets to decide that? Will your keep be decorated with a particular religion's iconography? Art and relics pillaged from lost tombs? The skeletal remains of they who hath crossed you? How often does it get harassed by monsters or vandals? What can I do to stop the attacks? Can I decide where my keep is located or is it in a fixed location? Do you breed goats and cows or goblins and worgs? Will there be 'ye olde magike shoppe' for all my potion and magical item needs? Is my keep going to provide money or require money? I think the ability to build a tall tower as a study is necessary. Where else would the Mage/psion/priest/druid ponder the universe?
  8. The wizard giving you a quest in an Inn troupe is pretty stale by now. Tamerlane is spot-on about the tone. Though I know this game will have some amazingly funny writing, I think over-satirizing could get old.
  9. I think adding Skaven to the game could be pretty great. They aren't my number 1 priority for races that need to be added to PE, but I totally support their inclusion.
  10. I really loved pretending to be a Drow while in the Underdark. With Viconia in the party you could really appreciate screwing over Drow society. Defending Nalia's from the enemy house was great because it allowed for your stewardship of the keep to bear fruit. Ideas established in that quest could be used in the keep in PE. Fighting my way to the top of the Shadow-ridden Elf tower in Icewind Dale was really memorable. The history of the place was great.
  11. I love this idea. It helps reinforce whatever setting you're playing in. Adding NPC interaction linked to your PC's Race/Sex/Class helps tell more of the story. I want appearance to be it's own stat, but it certainly shouldn't be an essential stat. It should give reasonable buffs to diplomacy and subterfuge based skills. If your character has a large scar, or is missing an eye, the folks in the tavern should bring it up.
  12. I would appreciate it if some village idiot yells "finish him!" near the end of a fight. Anyhow, I have a feeling that the hard streets of the two big cities will be rife with violence.
  13. I'd like to add my voice to the chorus of those less than enthusiastic about grimoires. I believe the power in a mage is the mage him or herself and not their book of shadows (grimoire). I trust Obsidian will make it fun and interesting, but until I see what it will look like in game-play I chose to remain skeptical. I've played Dungeons and Dragons since I was about 12 and I can't forget that Sorcerers exist (mages without spellbooks) The conversation about the way folks can form their grimoire seems productive. Perhaps when slaying enemy mages you can take pages out of their grimoire depending on how damaged it is. Given the extent to which a Mage's gameplay is grimoire-dependant, I would really like to see our books in game. Let's see how many variations on the Necronomicon the artists can whip up for our high-level Necromancers. Also please for the love of Odin above no sentient grimoires. I hate talking items.
  14. I think the Gun Monk would have to be the Grammaton Cleric (I love Equilibrium). Anyhow I love the conversation we've been having here and I think we're at a good spot to transition into the sub-types of monk we'd like to see and the way we would like to unlock them. Should we pick our sub-class at level one or unlock them at level 6? Is it just one setting you apply and forget or do you drop ranks into different specialties? One such subtype would be the grappler who excels at pinning his or her opponent. What little I know about Varzesh-e Bastani from Persia reminds me of that sort of martial art. Will there be a difference between 'soft' and 'hard' styles in game-play? Can my character learn a sleeper-pinch?
  15. Faeries, Unicorns, Blobs and Weresharks. PE is gearing up to be a real thriller.
  16. I think revenge by curse or cursed item could be interesting. "Hey this isn't a +12 Hackmaster at all! "
  17. Everybody knows there's no such thing as religion. I suppose it would be nice to know the extent to which those who are called Gods make themselves known to the mortals on the prime-plane. Naturalists could simply ascribe systems to detail the phenomenon around them, from the spells of the priest to the sorcery of the mage.
  18. Don't be so sure I knew it was only a matter of time before someone trudged up some Street-Shark references.
  19. Simply call them Starspawns to reflect their proper Lovecraftian origin.
  20. I would like to see the Druid as the wise man or woman with scrying abilities, as well as shamanistic powers to speak to the spirits of the land, nature and beasts.
