  1. I feel the Paladin could certainly use some more love. When playing through the Beta I got the feeling that the Warrior was perhpas the most polished of the armored warrior classes. The Paladin's Auras are pretty nice but it'd be great to have more to play around with. Most of the offensive abilities felt pretty easy to use but not especially worth microing in combat. I realize there may be a stat or two to determine how much abilities can do but at least in my first play-through. Perhaps the ability to do your offensive / defensive abilities more times per day would be nice, even if the offensive abilties feel not so powerful.
  2. I reckon all we can do is keep bringing it up and hope that it is implemented. If pushing back the release date means more features like pause-on-self-cast are included, by all means I am happy to wait. I know Obsidian folks read our posts so if we speak they'll listen.
  3. It killed me that it was so short. Each of the etiquette could only be used once, IIRC. It was worth the money but it could have been more.
  4. Hooded robes, like the one my Profile picture is wearing or the mages of Candlekeep would also be great. I always wanted to look like one of them but with red or black or green heavy robes.
  5. I think the Druid should get a 'Spirit-Quest'. It just sounds like the sort of thing a Druid ought to do. Some Vision Quest like fighting She in Honest Hearts or Point Lookout.
  6. It'd be nice to be able to 'read' what sort of spell the enemy casters are weaving through the graphics alone. Olaf's Bouncing Fireball should appear as a ember in the caster's hand(s) slowly expanding, Lightningaga should appear as Tesla-coil like beams emitting from the caster's aura. The old Infinity engine games did a decent job of telling me what sort of spell someone could be casting but I'd like to see more casting art and animation. Let me know instantly if that robed bearded man is casting a Wizard's spell, a chant, Soul-Magic, or something else just by the casting animation/sounds. I suppose the presence of a grimoire would be an easy hint as to the Wizardly power of the individual, but I'd like the specialness of each caster class represented in their casting. I'd way rather see/hear a Chanter and know it's a chanter rather than have that chanter be labeled as such in the text box.
  7. Yea, but it's the right kind of punishing IMHO. It's like riding a bike. Trying to learn to ride a bike can be discouraging, especially if you fall off and hurt yourself, but after you learn how to keep yourself going it's really hard to forget how. The Capra Demon may be nasty and in a crowded environment with two hounds but after learning how to address the situation you're not afraid anymore. I plan on playing PE on Hardcore mode and expect to have the difficulty adjusted appropriately.
  8. Though I still love +3 Cloaks of Ninja-stealth, I'd be completely alright if cloaks were mostly for decoration. I'd prefer to see fewer generic +2 cloaks of protection and more unique special cloaks.
  9. I would be disappointed if they hid content behind NG+. Though I understand wanting to encourage players to play the game a certain way (on the hardest difficulty), it was always annoying to need to beat a game again to unlock a more full ending ala Shadows of the Empire and Call of Cthulhu : Dark corners of the earth. A new class or race would be too substantial to hide behind the end-game screen, IMHO.
  10. I really miss the soul-snakes. They looked so much more brutal and dangerous than dark puffs of energy. Few things say "back off" like angry void-snakes.
  11. I LOVED Darksouls, but I feel the most natural thing to do after you beat this game is create a new character with a new pathos and try things a different way. When I experience a new play-through of Project Eternity I'd prefer to not have all the challenges become even harder, when I may have already beaten it with on Ironman Hardcore Mode.
  12. I'd really like to see at least eight subraces of Godlike. We've already seen the Godlike Woman who looks like she's Nature incarnate, so it'd be nice to see a Godlike who embodies Death and decay. Other opposing elements I'd like to see are Heat/Fire and Cold/Ice, Earth/Stone and Air/lightning, Light and Darkness. I don't know what a Magic Godlike would look like but it could be interesting. As would A soul-power based Godlike.
  13. He looks like he just smelt something..... Something like foul heresy!
  14. Do you have a source for this? I thought morality would play some role given you could chose to follow some faith or another. I have a feeling they'll move beyond the tired old LG-CE alignment chart of D&D but there only being reputation is news to me.
  15. What if certain abilities that unlock at level 14 are story related. Building your character would reveal the Soul-haidouken+2 or Spirit-Crystal or some-such. I think having a major plot item potentially spoiled by your natural desire to plot out your character could hurt immersion. I'm sure there will be a P:E wiki where we can share builds and tactics. I think not knowing what you're doing your first play-through helps set the tone of your second play-through. If the game had Lan/Internet multiplayer support I would see a lot more reason for a more fleshed-out character-planner UI.
  16. I really appreciate it when a character being tall, attractive or ugly has more of an effect on the stats than a modifier to Charisma or Constitution. It'd be nice to see traits like wrathful, generous or lustful to show up on the character sheet, The perks you could earn from the Fallout series comes to mind. If your character worships or obeys dark spirits, they might make a large osbcene ritual scar on their face denoting themselves as devotees of Guzlurk the Eviscerator. The spirit-healers of Zul-Kesh could wear enchanted henna to ward off bad vibes. Tattoos could not only show everyone that your character belongs to the Ebon Blade assasin-clan, but also be magically enchanted like those in Planescpe or the Tattooed Monk from 3rd Edition.
  17. Subbed! I won't lie, this perhaps means I need a new icon. This forum ain't big enough 'fer the two of us.
  18. My problem right now is I need fewer than 300 friends. I'll work on that. Maybe check "Zargoar".
  19. I'm 9 hours ahead of you Osvir here on the West Coast. I can fill whatever role but I'm not the best support.
  20. I'm all for having a 5-finger exploding-heart technique.
  21. Item crafting is in the game already. I just hope it's better than the system in NWN2. Crafting spells sounds like the job of a modder. Perhaps there is a quest chain to get you new spells that includes getting ingredients from rare magical beasts (eyes of beholder, tongue of shoggoth, etc) could get you new spells. Perhaps there will be talents that allow casters to subtly change the effects of their spells.
  22. Wow that was a great reveal about the Aumaua. Now I wonder what the far Aumaua culture is like. Hopefully we'll hear more about the lore in the coming weeks. I can't wait to see the art for these guys.
  23. FONV 2 would be amazing. But anyhow. I would certainly run something in the PE world, just set before guns were introduced.
  24. Knock Knock on wood. Anyhow I would really like to be able to axe (or kung-fu) my way through a door. I can't really think of a way you would accomplish something like that and not alert everyone nearby.
  25. Rather than some unholy mixture of the Sims and Dwarf Fortress, I'd rather just be able to chose to have a Elven Fortress for my Elf or a Dwarven Fortress for my Dwarf. I'd really appreciate it if in addition to picking the main buildings I'd like to have a decent amount of choice in architectural style. I'm just talking differences in layout and style. One of my biggest turn-offs about building my own house in Skyrim was though I was able to select the three rooms connected to my main hall, I wasn't able to select what architectural style the house was built in. What if my Orc Nazgob wanted a proper Orc house? In the case of Project Eternity, I feel it wouldn't be too different.
