  1. Yep, "accidentally" butchered this village. Then reloaded and accidentally did it again
  2. Oh yeah that thing is bugged as all get out. Expect to be staying invisible until you reload a lot
  3. Even better: if you move his cup [Clever] everyone gasps and he glares at you, and you can then swipe everything off the table! [Cruel] His OCD goes nuts and HE attacks YOU.
  4. The blackened plate and helm (forget what they're called) are both found in the same room after a named Fampyr fight in the Splintered Reef in the far SE corner of the world map. It's not the boss fight but shortly before that
  5. Anyone else notice that the combat music for boarding a ship is basically "Shipping Up To Boston" by the Dropkick Murphy's? Those less inclined to the style might recognize it from the movie The Departed
  6. I also found mine in a crate... I don't think it was randomly generated. If I find it again in my second playthrough I'll let you know
  7. I agree, but I'd be okay with it if it was made clear-- you're far from the first to post on the forums trying to figure out if a companion whose gone is a bug or not, myself included. And we're for the most part the most dedicated fans on the forums. What about newer players? How will that impact their experience? I think companion death consequences need to be made abundantly clear and right now they're not.
  8. Yup, that's all there is to it. Specifically look for islands that have dungeons on them (as opposed to scripted events or single fights with the crossed swords icons) You don't actually have to do every event on the island or collect everything, just complete the dungeons on islands in the area the journal entry sends you to (you'll know you were successful if you're prompted to name the island after coming out of its dungeon), generally three islands at a time before returning to Sanza for the quest reward and to receive the next set of islands. Most times there's decent unique loot in these island dungeons too.
  9. Yeah this is true, looks like master is the top rank for regular crew, and they can only have one set skill or they wont even get that. I desperately need a new gunner, cause of their mishmash they are stuck at seasoned. You mean cannoneers? You start off with one (his name is like Vanizzi or something similar) but I've only been able to hire one or two others who didn't already start with another skill. I've not found any pure helmsman but Worthless Idiot (the imp outside Arkemyr's manor) can become a master navigator, so he's not that worthless after all funny enough
  10. Can crewmembers reach legendary? I don't think so... It appears that master is the highest for them, and even then only crew who don't have any ranks in any other skill seem able to reach master. For example, every crew that had novice in one skill (i.e. deckhand) could not get past expert in another skill
  11. I explored all of these and didn't find any mention of Fulvano. I'm usually pretty thorough too. Was I just unlucky?
  12. It's a bug. And you're missing out. Shanties are amazing and now I go around the house singing them to myself after a long Deadfire session Incidentally I'm from a maritime navy town with a colonial history
  13. There are two women arguing outside of his manor, they give the quest to steal some tablet. Yeah... I ran into them on the way out after burgling the place...
  14. Same here, only with Tekehu-- I didn't recruit him until very very late in the game, completed one quest with him then he got benched. So side convos, nothing. I intentionally avoided learning about his character so I could have him tag along the whole game on my next playthrough, then what happens? His "I'm into you" relationship dialogue triggers after a damn ship battle where he's not even in my party! I'd have to agree , this is very off-putting. Would Xoti have done the same thing at this point too if I hadn't already completed her story earlier on? I hope they fix this
  15. I found an eye patch. No hat, just eye patch. I'm be damned if I can remember where though (sorry)
  16. It seems to be a "one or the other" check most times, but there are definitely exceptions. For example, the ever popular PER / Survival check... I'm quite certain from what I've seen that this is that you either need 'x' Perception, OR, 'x' Survival. Not both, not added together. However there are rare cases where there are multiple checks in a row after the first, i.e. first check Perception to see if you noticed the people in the woods about to shoot at you, THEN check that same characters DEX to see if you reacted quickly enough (this is just an example). The second type of scenario doesn't give you any foreknowledge as to what type it might be, but these are quite rare. Personally, I'm a fan of this type of scripted event but I can understand how some others might not be.
  17. Definitely a hardware thing. SSD's are a lifesaver here and I can confirm that on a M.2 NVMe they are only a matter of seconds even endgame. If you have multiple drives make sure you install it on your fastest, on your boot drive if you have to. It makes a huge difference I can only imagine that anyone with load times over a minute must be using HDD or old laptop or something... Which is fine don't get me wrong, but I think that's the exception rather than the rule
  18. In general once I upgraded my ship enough I just took down every damn named ship on the seas except VTC ships then went and collected my bounties wholesale-- once I even found the quest NPC. Lol "Find the-" "Got him." "Great! Now there's-" "Yeah he's dead too." And on and on. Dudes must think I'm the most efficient bounty hunter ever
  19. Welp, I usually just name 'em after what I found I found there (Fampyr Isle, etc.) but I just couldnt resist naming the volcanic one with the labyrinth "Wael's A$$hole." After going through that **** it was gratifying to see it in large print across the map But there was this one fight in the far northwest against a bunch of Fampyr's where I was in over my head and my party went down again and again until I was out of heals, out of empowers, potions, abilities, you-name-it. And it was just my tanky estoc Devoted in plate chipping away at like five of them, and, JUST barely by the skin of my teeth, he managed to take a few down early with careful interupts and every last option available to him and took out the last guy with something like 4 hp remaining. I was so damn satisfied and shocked, I named the island Last Man Standing in honour of the fight. And honestly, I don't think I'll be able to bring myself to name it anything different in subsequent playthroughs... That fight created a memory for me that really stuck. This game really is amazing.

  20. Not yet so far as I'm aware. People are working hard on the wiki so it won't be long I'm sure, once more people have gotten their fill playing through the game and turn their attention to meta game stuff My plan is to turn on notifications for this thread and I'm sure somebody will post to let people know if it stays near the top
  21. I had this too. It isn't from importing your save because I didn't start with it, and whatever quest it is I'm not sure but it DOES eventually go away. My guess was a dialogue option with Xoti regarding her bad dreams? Dunno
