The core of the problem: you are a pirate
The deadfires theme is pirates and mercenary. It even establishes this in poe. So pirate crew makes perfect sense given the entire game takes place in the deadfires. Pirates isn't wrong when it's the main theme of the entire location.

How do you get the Essence Interrupter (new community designed hunting bow)?
asnjas replied to HoopleDoople's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Stories (Spoiler Warning!)Jesus chr that name. Let's not let the community design equipment anymore. Those poe tombstones were bad enough.

POLL - Where would you like to travel if PoE saga continues
asnjas replied to juanval's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Please no white that wends im so tired of snow. Raedceras or valian republics seem like they would have plenty of drama and story opportunity.

Let's try again. Priest of Woedica and Steel Garrote as playable classes. DO IT!
asnjas replied to AndreaColombo's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)How ready are they? Each of the priest subclasses have their own flavor spells based on their diety. They have level 9 spells and special spiritual weapons. If these sub classes are good to go immediately then I'm 50 50. If not then please focus on other classes. I have yet to finish the game so I do not know how these subclasses play out in game. In poe1, If people requested woedica priests then I'm 100% against. Maybe when I finish the game I'll find more reasons to say no. Stay tuned Also keep in most people will not come back to thus game regularly. They will play it now and come back in the next expack. Time is important. Priest paladins have plenty of stuff now even if these subclasses are already 50% complete.

Let's try again. Priest of Woedica and Steel Garrote as playable classes. DO IT!
asnjas replied to AndreaColombo's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)No thanks So many classes only have 3 kit options like rogue and ranger I feel they are more deserving of extra love. Priest and Paladin already get 5 options if I'm not mistaken.

Ending and God's request of request of the soul machine
Sure but there is something wrong then with skaen. Woedica is an underdog but he also is the god of authority and rule that wants to rule over all other gods. So skaen seems to be the god of endless cycle where he lashes out against authority until they are brought down. When they are brought down they now are the underdogs. Now he helps the underdog strike out against the New power. What happens then when woedica regains power and becomes once again the god in control? Skaen must, according to his principles, lash out against woedica. Skaen doesn't seem to be a good choice to follow.

Ending and God's request of request of the soul machine
Spoilers Ok so I finished the game a second time and I'm looking for clarity. Rymergand, ondra and skaen all asked me to disintegrate the souls after I finished rymergands quest. After killing the main enemy, skaen asks me to give the souls to woedica. What gets me is this seems contrary to skaen principles. Doesn't he hate rulers and authorty and values silent slaves striking against their masters? Doesn't woedica want to get souls to regain her lost power? Woedica wants to be the leading power of all the gods. Why would the god that hates authority and values silent revenge want to help the god that wants to become the highest power of all the gods? It seems like disintegrating the souls to spite woedica is aligned with skaen principle. And why did skaen habe a change of heart?

Wait, was Concelhaut ...
I thought it was related to his desire to keep himself alive. He was obsessed with self preservation. Even one of his lessons to his students was what he thought was a wizard's greatest enemy. Death or something like that.

Narrator voice and vocabulary
asnjas replied to InBetween's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)I loved the narrator's voice. It was serious and strong without being masculine. It fit well with the setting of the game. Man you guys are seriously crazy.

Why are some weapon types just flat out horrible compared to others?
asnjas replied to Infiltrator_SF's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)As long as the weapons are balanced closely enough then its fine.i don't mean to sound like the gf that likes her baseball team based on uniform color, but I really do pick weapons based on look or theme of the character. And no I don't play potd. I play classic difficulty.

One Suggestion about Multiclassing
asnjas replied to Selvokaz's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)But Why? The whole point and benefit is built-in already. You get abilities from both classes. If anything single classes need the special skills to set them apart since they don't get the choices from two classes. And what's funny is they do get the special skills in a way since only single classes get access to the highest power level skills.

[POTD Difficulty] Launch NOT tuned discussion thread
asnjas replied to Haran's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Yeah, but dont don't focus too much on difficulty. It's not a big deal for the vast majority of players. People will never be satisfied as they will eventually get the hang of the new difficulty level. It's cool to work on but please don't make it a focus of attention.

Can I get a recommendation please
a lot of the games being recommended are great but they are too dated. cmon guys. if someone wanted a car you wouldnt recommend a car from the 70s 80s. would someone really enjoy bg2 or planescape if they are playing for the first time in 2017? fallout 4 is a good game people can enjoy without requiring niche cult interests. skyrim too.

Lore: why Aumaua are not dominating the world yet?
i havent played this game in a while. i do remember- maybe incorrectly- that the aumua were supposed to be moral experts or similar. they put in a lot of effort into understanding moral issues. this might explain why they do not wage wars to conquer.

Just what IS a Chanter anyway?
i saw them as experts in lore and storytelling. they are not necessarily charismatic but wise and knowledgeable in many stories etc. i played mine like some old hermit loremaster philosopher. the bard in baldurs gate 1-2 i saw as charismatic performers. the chanters in pillars seemed different.

RANT warning, Criticism over Ferry Flotsam quest *facepalm*
its a chill quest relax dude. normal people resort to crime during crisis or desperation. the fact they were normal people that lost everything due to unfortunate events makes you sympathize more. they are not just mad and ruthless. and maybe we can agree to disagree on this point, but i like when you have to choose: you pick either peregund or the looters. you cant **** foot the middle ground. to me, your suggestions are **** footing middle ground. its like why cant me and the main villain just have reasonable discourse and compromise? because that would be boring! make the choices tough! help the looters and screw peregund or help peregund and screw the looters. pick one. no all hold hands and skip into sunset wiggle room options. i agree about the way they did reputations. if what you say is true then defending defience bay citizens from looters should give positive rep. letting looters run off with def bay citizens property should be negative rep for def bay. good point.

[WM2] Is it justified to rise the tide in the abbey?
i played honest and benevolent chanter and chose to drown them. i just remember the ondra cultists agreed to everything. they also seemed too mentally unstabble to be released. they also must have seen everything coming and were familar with the process since they were high rank members of the cult.

Options with Iovara?
iorovara was my favorite character in the entire game. there are few reasons why shes memorable and likable. we pity her. if we make right her situation then she loses what makes her character special.shes a tragic character like sampson or romero and juliet. plus i think we dont solve iorvaras problem because she solved it already. it her own resolve that keeps her in the prison. shes the only one that remains because she committed to truth.

Does the story pick up after the animancy hearings?
i loved the story as a whole. its far deeper and complicated than say divinity original sin. maybe there are lulls or some themes just dont do it for you, but after finishing the game and taking in the enitre story i was not unsatisfied. in fact i was more disappointed with how the white march story line played out than the main story.

Choices and morals in WM part 2
he had proof its just he mis interpret his dreams. he screwed up i admit to that but you cant say he was acting out of malice or greed or evil. i know the destruction of stalwart is very serious and its not a win all happy ending. but the man acted from his duty to his country. save it at all cost. he put his people first and i can respect that even if im on stalwarts side. this is because if i put stalwart first id do the same to raedceras. the mayor of stalwarts has to put stalwart security before raedceras too.

huge spoilers-say what you want about length but act four was hot fire.- huge spoilers
im not kidding huge spoilers iorvara's knowledge bomb about there are no gods. youre the dumb idiot that betrayed iorvara. this pissed me off so much about myself and made me feel so bad for that woman. how she got totured and captured because of me. she seemed like such a nice lady. she trusted me so much. and she wasnt even mad at me. damn dude. thaos reminds me of religious ppl today. is there a god? yes of course. shows him facts there is no god. well god means different things to different peeps. no dude, straight up, is there a god or not? this is a bad time to ask. oh whatever. thaos was reasonable but the truth is more important. plus methods matter. ok you want to give people lies to make them feel better but dont ruin entire civilisations! he was like readric but more stupid. i sent his ass back to spirit prison to reflect on his actions and apologize to io. white march 12 was cool and all but act four blew it away.

Choices and morals in WM part 2
i thoughy of him as a defender of readceras instead of a conqueror. i just played that part and mentions he is doing what he can to defend his homeland. he also mentions he is after the steel and loot as promised to his men for a reward for fighting. but he is there primarily to save readceras. so i let him live and made him an ally.
