Unless one has prior knowledge of where to obtain, how early to obtain and what is contained inside of the predetermined selection of spells inside of each grimoire, you could be like me, "memorize" chill fog, then find a grimoire that already has it in it....that's a waste of a point spent. Do I get something in return for spending a point into chill fog when I use a grimoire that already has it? Increased power? HIGHLY doubt I get anything, only get screwed out of that point I bet. And that other guy up there that doesnt understand how this inhibits playstyle... Who even chose what gets to go into the grimoires and why? Well, not the players. It was Obsidian and the spell choices seems arbitrary or loosely based on the name of the grimoire, you can't tailor-pick which spells you want in your grimoire.......unless you're Aloth which the lore indicates....which is an obvious lie since their grimoire can't be (further?) customized either. Just because you swap to another grimoire with ANOTHER arbitrary selection of spells in it suddenly means it's suitable for the situation? Huh??? What are you even talking about. I'm just saying I don't like this change, they stripped us of something we had from the first game while still implying through lore that it is still possible within the game-world to customize our grimoires and yet we still cant. That's just stupid. Huh what who? It doesnt inhibit playstyle cause you can play in whatever style you want. Inhibiting playstyle is something completely different than customizing. Yeah the spells are chosen by obsidian so what. You can still see what spells the grims possess and match them with what youve chosen at level up. You can literally play whatever style you want. Who huh? You are not inhibited from using the spells you want. People treat grims like they are your main source for spells but they are not. Playstyle in spell selection is not tied to your grim. Grims are extra spells. Jesus chr. Youre literally better off than priest and druids. Their free spells are chosen by obsidian too without the option to change grims. Why does no one complain about the lack of customization? Oh because it makes sense cause the gods grant the uncustomizable spells to the priest. But it doesnt make sense when a grim grant uncustomizable spells to fhe wizard. Thats stupid. Yes you can switch to another grim. Is that hard? We switch to other weapons when some enemy has too high def and no one blinks an eye. But when we must switch grims because another grim offers a free spell that fits the situation then people complain simply because they cant customize the grim. Lol. Switching grims actually very consistent with switching weapons but oh well. REFUSE IT.

Customizing grims is stupid because its no different than selecting the same spells at level up. They might as well remove grims and give wizards two additional spells each power level. It adds nothing. How tf does no grim customization inhibit players playstyle? You can still play however you want with what spells you want. Jesus h chr. Infact you are less inhibited than priests or druids who dont even get any kind of extra spell options. They are pigeonholed into certain bonus spells when wizards can choose between various grim arrangements. No single grim is suitable to every situation yet wizqrds can swap to one that is suitable but wizards are the class that is inhibited. Right.

It be like you finding Aristotle's book and trying to make changes to it while keeping the message intact. Youd simply f it up. Instead, Youve happened upon someone elses work, comprehend what theyve written and are now putting it to use. Seems fine. Theres nothing unwizardly or unscholarly about using books you find randomly. In fact id say its quite the opposite. Youd desire every bit of arcane knowledge you could find and put it to use whether you created it or not. Very wizardly if you ask me. There is no customization but the uniqness is there. Compared to every other class they are special in how they obtain extra spells or abilities. They get grim choices and make do with that grim offers. Id actually argue that being able to select your own spells for your grimiores would be worse. Its stupid. It be the same as selecting a spell from the level up screen. You might as well skip the grimore and give wizards an extra choice each level. Total customization of grimiores adds nothing to the game.

Play whatever speaks to you. Dont even look at the skills. What type of ethics and fantasy way of life you like? Whats a cool story for a character? Look at the class theme and pick three dispositions that fit the character you always wanted to be. Pick 2 skills and even the weapon modals on your character idea. If not then rot in min/maxer hel i say. Say hello to berath for me.

Consolidating passives for solo play screws over party players. It isnt ridiculous: it is more fun. This aint a solo game. The main idea is for each of your party members to pick a skill to be good at. Individual specialists coming together to overcome challenges as a group is kind of the basis of these types of role playing games. So yea one guy unable to do everything is by design. You Use 5 chars to fill out needed roles in the group so that explains why your one man comes up short. Seriously this sounds like it isnt the game youre looking for.

People get all screwed up cause they think difficulty needs to be relative to their own capability. As in you improve your skills level so there needs to be a difficulty to match your improvement as a poe2 player. But thats not the case. Potd doesnt need to be good or balanced challenge for you. Potd is what it is and you have to overcome it. I can certaintly distinguish the watchers from the princesses by reading this thread. -
Wasnt commenting on the difficulty at all. I was refering to the claim its interesting and worth sharing. It isnt that interesting when you make a challenge out of items and then use them... you didnt even come up with changes to normal rules. Its just simply find and use these fun items during a play through. Plus, dont take my word for it; this threads almost a week old and its just me and you here slinging mud.

No, it shouldn't affect … AFFECT … gun damage either. Why would strength AFFECT melee weapon accuracy? Your strength would AFFECT your ability to wield a heavy weapon easily. Take a weak person and give them a greatsword and they'll be lucky to get it over their head, let alone swing it, let alone swing it with any degree of accuracy. Strength affects your ability to wield melee weapons and swing them at all and to swing them with some accuracy. And the stronger you are, the lighter some weapons will feel and the more dexterously you'll be able to wield them. As for swinging an ax, if you don't have the strength to lift the ax, you're not swinging it at all. If you have enough strength to wield it with a degree of nimbleness, it most certainly will AFFECT your ability to hit where you intend. Obviously, skill has something to do with it too, but that's factored into each character's level. As for "anti-might bias", maybe we cling to it because we think that it's stupid. (Right up there with not knowing the difference between "affect" and "effect".) Giving me more and more strength isnt going to enable me to hit a baseball with more and more accuracy. I can hit the ball farther because of my increased strength but not with more accuracy. The strength to wield the bat is secondary while my perception and hand eye cooridination is the primary cause for accuracy. Kind of like how grammar is not what you need to figure this stuff out but logic and reasoning is the primary cause. Maybe you cling to it because you cant accept logical change. I disagree. If someone gives you a bat that you can barely lift off the ground, you're not hitting anything. On the flip side, if you have the strength to whip a bat around like a toothpick, you will be able to manipulate it with ease, thus greatly increasing your chances of hitting your target. You may not need grammar to figure out stuff like this, but you sure as hell need it to communicate effectively and for your comments and opinions to be taken seriously. Disagree all you want but do yourself a favor and stop thinking and go try it. Your accuracy in hitting the ball with a bat is not physical str but hand eye. I said that earlier. In fact you dont even need to be strong to do this. Go find a very lightweight stick instead that you can manipulate very easily. The ease in your manipulation doesnt mean you going to hit a ball comin at you. You can even find lighter and lighter sticks with ever increasing levels of manipulation and your accuracy does not go up. Lacking the strength to lift the bat is not inaccuracy. You can have the world's strongest man try to hit a fast pitch and he will not be the most accurate at hitting the ball. If strength governs accuracy then the worlds strongest man must be the worlds most accurate batsman. In video game terms, if a sterotypical rogue with sharp eyes and keen ears lacks the strength to wield a heavy 2 handed mace then he is not inaccurate at wielding weapons. Why, because you can give him a lighter weapon like a dagger and suddenly he is now an accurate striker. The rogue is accurate but not strong. He is not to be considered inaccurate because he lacks the strength to wield particular weapons. Duh.

I experience super speed and then after i pause and run around a bit it goes away. This happens once when i load up any new save. I never experience super speed in middle of playing. Pacing changes i domt exp at all. My character never start walking for no reason beside normal gameplay effects like walking through water or whatever. Maybe it has happened during battle and i assume its a debuff or something. But i am very sure anytime im in non combat and running around, my characters never begin walking for no reason.

Only thing forced are these counter arguements tbqh. Video games can be changed after the fact while paintings cannot is completely irrelevant. Whether v narration is necessary. Its about as necessary as all voiced acting. Eders lines dont need to be voiced either. However, Eders lines are voiced and they are voiced not because of necessity but because the devs are trying to create a specific character for us to experience. Might as well say the princess bride doesnt need a narrator whem you can just watch the movie to see what happens. They put the narrator to create an experience not out of necessity. Mary replied angrily needs to be put into the game. How elss will you know how mary replied epsecially when the character is not doing it as you said. The narrator is not the actor lol. The narrqtors job is to describe everything for you.

Ill admit i scanned the thread as 13 pages was too much. So correct me if im wrong. But Its like people want shifters to be shift forms only. Imo shifter druids are not aupposed to be melee classes in an animal form. They are supposed to be spell casters that can also shift into a melee form. Their spells are part of the kit. Its like removing a transmuters spells and turning his ogre form into the entire class. Not only is it boring but it removes the identity of the class. Shifters ought to wrestle with the spells and animal forms for maximum effect. Its both the spells and forms together that makes them a druid. Imo this is why obsidian doesnt touch their forms like everyone wants.

This isn't like choosing Mona Lisa's hair color. It's like choosing what frame to put the Mona Lisa in. The narrator is not pivotal to the experience of this game, and removing them wouldn't change any part of the story that matters.Thought goes into it. Its the difference between a serious, low voice reading a scary story and a clown like high pitch happy voice reading the same story. I highly doubt she was picked out of a hat. Plus i doubt mona lisa is displayed in a frame decorated with glitter, ribbons and macaroni chains. Even the frame matters dude. I also doubt theyd remove the frame cause it aint pivotal.

Everything doesnt needs to be an option now. Mona lisa doesnt need a blonde redhead brunette option to fit taste. The author designed her hair like that because of the artists vision in making something great and high quality. Why cant games be the same. People can hate eders voice too and imo just hate it then. It fits his style and country folk background. Just let the creators make something they think is great amd fits together.

Instead of a main quest with many sidequest, it might be interesting to have just a main quest that is highly developed. Everything happens within the main quest. Companion quests lines etc. There can be major branches in story depending on previous choices. Basically all the cool stuff we already know and love but with more time to implement them because less is spent on side quests.

I dont know if anyone played the viking expedition rpg but that game did a great job of moving the game forward regardless of player succees or failure. For better or worse, there was never a reason to restart and no game overs: the story always moved forward. The story slightly changed based on you failed or succeeded.

Yea might shouldnt effect caster damage but gun damage is ok. Right.... And why would might effect melee weapon accuracy? When i hit an axe against a log, whenther or not i hit the spot i intend to has nothing to do with my physical strength. I swear people cling to their anti might bias like nothing i ever seen. It makes sense. It aint perfect implemented in game thats all. The flaws have nothing to do with might. You dont have weak but powerful mages lifting boulders down a ladder unless you chose that option. You have physically powerful barbarians lifting boulders down ladders. I mean really. Things are not perfect and go both ways. Just like the example earlier of aggression doesnt have to equal violent. The game offers many options to be aggressively violent but you dont have to chose them if you char aint the violent type. Jesus.
