The point of leveling with upscaling is to give you progression. You earn exp for the next level to unlock new stuff. Scaling doesnt change this. Upscaling is the most logical way to balance the game. Either way you want enemies around your parties skill level right? Without scaling the devs must guess at your strength when you reach an encounter. With scaling they dont have to guess and every encounter contains enemies at your level. It aint a artificial difficulty gimmick. Scaling or not, you want enemies to be constantly at your parties level. Why complain when they use scaling instead of guessing?

Afaik it is impossible to have those last two tier abilities while mutliclassed. Forget about em. Sub class recomendation based on normal diffuclty, for the paladin pick the subclass that speaks to you ethically. Paladins have cool class design regarding ethical preferences that other classes dont. Also you will be tied to their ethical preferences, atleast in poe1 they were, so pick a ethic that you plan to roleplay. Monk subclass who cares. Shattered and helwalker are the same. Nazlapca has annyoing drug minigames and forb fist got a buff so maybe try that if it fits your char design.

How is this might check wrong? If might is both physical and metaphysical strength than the check is accurate cause carrying someone down a ship is a test of physical strength. Two different interpretations of might and one was used. Because that interpretation doesnt match your character then there needs to be a problem? I think the game has two interpretations of the aggressive disposition: cruel and merciless and the second is acting first/jumping to action. They are not the same and a charqcter can be based on one or the other. Is it a cause for conplaint if my chaotic good character that springs to action is given a cruel and merciless aggressive disposition option?

Probably because its not that big of a deal. Shes fine. All complaints about the narrator can be applied to any of the voiced parts in the game and its ridiculous to request specific ones be turned off. Overall, people like voiced lines no matter how sht they are. I doubt this is very high in the priority list.

All their sub classes seem you be too similar in that they aim at assisting damage and build wounds off hitting stuff. Why not a sub class built towards promoting their defender description. Small bonus to deflection or status removal etc. Resolve bonus maybe eho knows. At least balance it out some.

You guys take this sht way too seriously. Like old people that complain about anything new or anything that they dont like. In any case you are wrong. It would be a lot of fun to design your squad and compete against others. Fun. People spend time theorycraftying builds all the time. That probably half the fun of the darn game. Of course it will never happen. Its a dream. Relax.

Berath walks you through everything at the beginning. You select your custom history during her conversation. I dont know. I dont know and i dont think its necessary. The game saves all your custom histories for use. I had trouble understanding most of what you wrote. I believe you to be talking about the custom history created in the deadfire history creator and not the actual poe1 end game save. My actual poe1 end game saves were in some wonky unexpected place and not in my poe1 steam folder.

I agree fights should fit the difficulty level. Thats what its there for in the first place. The majority of the game is optional. Some quest asking you fetch cure for poor people is just as optional as fighting these bosses. No acheives, no story connection, no story consequeces etc. Why even have these bosses in the first place? Does every demographic need some little custom addition to the game?

By opener i mean either the initial big hit coming out of stealth or the other ways the rogue creates these stealth circumstances. Ok so, do weapons have added factors increasing damage from stealth? Do spells benefit as much from stealth mechanics to make decent openers? Are they decent options for stealth hits? I made a druid shapshifter rogue assassin multi class and currently using stag horn spell to open battles. It seems pretty underwealming. Would this charqcter be better off using my weapon and hitting them from stealth or is the stag horn/fire spells what i should be expecting? Is the only real benefit to stealth casting spells the assassin benefit?

You guys crack me up. If i gave you a ton of money to create a game, your paycheck is riding on the line and you need everything to succeed as mich as possible, you going to lean towards making people happy by giving them what they enjoy. You guys are only considering some game principles and art theory and not business. Things change even games and what people enjoy about them. 20 year old games do not have all the answers. I loved morrowind and, graphics aside, there is plenty i feel would not carry over well to new games. -
Agreed. Seems like a relic mechanic that is no longer appreciated in addition to all of the above mentioned points.
