  1. Version: v5.0.0.0040 LAX123ABCDEFGHI[TB] -steam I am playing in turn-based mode at maximum game speed with manual turn-ending. I have made two attempts at the Neriscyrlas fight in Beast of Winter. The same problem has occurred both times and has caused me to abandon and reload the fight. Both times were due to the game landing in a stuck state when a controllable character was affected by the Terrified affliction. When it is their turn, I am obviously unable to command them to perform any actions, but the End Turn button is simply greyed out with "Waiting..." and neither of my end-turn hot key (Ctrl or Enter) end the turn. In both instances the terrified effect was present on multiple characters: 1. The first instance involved the game getting stuck on the turn of one of the animated weapons summoned by Vatnir using the skill Called to His Bidding, the Ancient Instruments of Death. The weapon was suffering from the terrified affliction. 2. The second instance occurred when two characters were Terrified and Vatnir himself landed in the Waiting... state in his turn. Most of the existing posts I found mentioning this problem seem to state that it has since been fixed, but this happened in v5.0. I do not want to use cheats as a work-around as that will disable my achievements. Is there another way to deal with this problem? Thanks.
  2. Several persistent bugs, happen to every character as far as I can remember. These are the most recent instances. General Info - Steam, merged from original Android account (played on the same computer using android emulator) - Win 7 Ultimate SP1 64bit - PC is custom. - PFID# FAEFDABE617FAD2E Gameplay - Pass & play on/permadeath are OFF - Campaign - Characters in Party: Lem and Lini (original characters) - Turn Order Lem, Lini (those bugs happen regardless of turn order) - Difficulty is Legendary - None of the issues have to do with Hordes and happen regardless if first exploration or not Issue#1 When playing the last scenario (Into the Eye), the Revelation Quill, the Eagle and Scrying are unplayable. This is the most disturbing bug of all, and has persisted throughout the years, even after merging my main account with Steam. I know it has been reported before, but it's still there. Issue#2 Another persistent issue with my game is Rimeskull. Whenever a location is closed, only the character who closed it moves to another location. Other characters are trapped, and are forced to lose a turn before moving out in subsequent turns. Also, characters cannot move into previously closed locations, unless I quit the game altogether, and rerun it Issue#3 Another persistent issue is in Assault on the Pinnacle. When choosing loot after I defeat a bane, the "buttons" are always misaligned. In my last game I tried to click 6 spells, but I got 4 weapons and 2 spells instead. Issue#4 The black tower. Another persistent one. Harpy monks do not allow my characters to use powers, either before they act or during the combat check. (Thankfully, after playing in steam, Harpy monks' cards do not remain there, blocking my view of my next encounters, as before) Issue#5 The last major persistent bug is a more general one. When playing cards like the Corrosive Storm or Blizzard BEFORE the exploration, and during the encounter the character who played them is FORCED to make a check, those cards are always returning to his hand, as if they were never played. This diminishes they usefulness, as they often cannot be played at all, if the character plays another card of the same type. Issue#6 Into the Eye (again): I noticed that only one Henchman per character was shuffled into the location deck, despite that I played in Legendary difficulty.   3. I traveled to Harbinger's Watch the first time, and backtracked after realizing the Dracolich was too hard for me. I then went around, completing quests and gaining levels and equipment for a day and a half of real time. I returned to Harbinger's watch, and I lost that day and a half of progress. The (Pre-DLC) save from my first attempt is present, and it didn't overwrite with my new save. Additionally, all the other saves I accumulated in that day and a half were totally lost. What can I do to reclaim the lost saves, and prevent this from happening when I try the dracolich again?
  4. What do you think if we could fix a few bugs ourselves, test them, and offer Obsidian the solution; or as a backup plan make a mod (compliant with IEMod's Patchwork)? Obviously stuff like stuttering or shaking popups is out of our reach, but a few in-code changes probably could be done. I have in mind the following list: Bugs: 1. DoT damage is not being registered in party member stats 2. DoTs do not benefit from elemental talents 3. DoTs do not benefit from slaying talents (like Beast Slayer, Ghost Hunter, etc) 4. Charm occasionally ending prematurely 5. Powder Burns is hitting allies standing in FoE (yellow) zone. (screenshot) 6. Charmed enemies quickly regenerate a portion (10-25%) of hp/endurance when switching alliance Balance suggestions: 1. Make Deep Wounds stack 2. Duration of "fixed" DoTs (Wounding Shot, Wounding, Enduring Flames) should no longer be affected by INT (since their total damage is not affected by INT neither). At the moment, I know how to fix the first bug, and partially the second. What do you think of p3, and of the whole idea? EDIT: UPMod.1.01.306 is ready.   5. Deadfire Polishing Thread has been opened for 3 weeks by now, and we gathered enough feedback for a dedicated poll. And the idea behind this poll is to filter through the community-originated fine-tuning suggestions and cut those that didn't make it past a certain threshold of unanimity.   6. Bug report. When I go into the character inventory, and toggle between first and secondary weapon, The character in the Inventory screen changes colour to a pale white. ( Note; This was happening when I equipped the War Bow or the Hunting bow as a secondary weapon. This effect was happening within the Inventory screen only, The character remained the normal colour in Gameplay. ) I am experiencing this on PC, playing the latest version update.
  7. Pillars of Eternity 1 has achieved a pretty good state by v3.0+. And several bugs aside, it looks that Deadfire is slowly headed in the same direction. But at the moment, there are still a range of spells, abilities and effects that are what we can call: trash (or trap) options. And also there a few things that are either a little too good, or allow to bypass certain design limitations. And it's understandable that comparative power of talents/abilities/effects/etc in practice is not always the same as initially expected, due to overall complexity and changes in mechanics, plus emergent synergies, opportunity costs, variety of encounters, asymmetry in enemy defenses, armor threshold deadzones, max health 'policy' and so on. So the idea is: to come up with a collective set of fine-tuning adjustments to cut-off the least impactful ones and to end up with a list of community suggested changes. So if Obsidian decides to do any balance changes for v5.0.0, they could use this as some sort of survey data. And of course there is also hope that some of these could be modded. The workflow is gonna be as follows: There will be a preliminary list of suggested changes. And you can: a). suggest to add a change; b). suggest to remove an already added suggestion; or provide an alternative adjustment. Just don't forget to argumentate your opinion. After awhile, I'll make a poll based on these. When the poll is ended, a final list will be made. And it will include changes that have passed a certain threshold of unanimity.   8. Loving the turn-based combat. I put 16hrs into yesterday!! There seems to be promblems in the Brass Citidel area. Ive had the game crash on me severals times today. Cant get in over 5mins of play time in the area. Theirs also an issue that animations during conversations freeze and you cant choose dialog options, but the space bar will make the characters say random things without knowing what they are responding to. If someone could post a Dropbox link.. Along with easy instructions I can send the error report. Or tell me what files to attach below.. Thanks
  9. Just bought game two days ago, and the 3 DLC's for $30 more. 5 hours into a session the game crashes. No big deal..... the game doesn't F$%#@ng autosave for ironman mode. Would have to replay 5 hours I just did. I see online this has been a problem since launch and developers never addressed it. Tried to get a refund on steam but because I'm over 2 hours, no dice. Out $80. I'm not going to replay those 5 hours again when a crash can happen anytime and there is no way to save progress without occasionally save-exiting the game. Is there anyway to go back to just before the crash in the game files? If not is there anyway to get my god damn money back. It's not like i was googling looking for this specific issue when I bought the game. For the developers: Crash happened in the middle of talking to the 5 gods for the first time. When it keeps alternating which one is colored in when they speak. Spent a long time trying to find the crash file, and it appears it wasn't created?
  10. My characters keep permanently dying even though they have no injuries. This has happened to me with multiple different enemies for the last 10 hours of gameplay. I haven't seen a single injury since. Anyone know what's happening? I've tried resting multiple times with different types of food but nothing works.
  11. During the ending credits in PoE 2, in the moment describing what happend to Tikawara the credits stops without any options to proceed. Theres is ni problem with the game process, 'cause the game itself is not freezing in this moment Anyone have any ideas?

  13. Hello guys, I have the following problem... I started a new game and everything worked fine, but when I have to go from the room of the ship on the ship, so the pirates can try to attack me, the screen stays black, but I have the gauntled (mouse curser) and I can hear him talking and if I click somewhere, where I think the dialog options are, he is talking again (the next thing he has to say) I already tried: - the windowed mode - turn the resolution down - installed the game again - checked all my drivers - to start it as admin - turn vSync on/off my specs are: CPU: AMD FX-8350 Graphic: nVidia Geforce GTX 970 RAM: 16 GB DDR3 OS: Windows 10 Pro I played the game to the launch for 10 hours without any problems.   14. Hey guys, Sorry if this is already covered somewhere else, but Kalakoth's Freezing Rake (Level 8 wizard spell) used to only damage enemies, and now damages allies as well. If this is working as designed, cool, but the tooltip and spell description still says enemies. Also I didn't see anything in the patch notes so ??? Thanks!
  15. Hey all, first time poster here. I know it has been mentioned both on here and on reddit before (though from a quick scan of the forums here none too recently), but I feel it's still worth mentioning again. During my playthrough I decided of my own freewill to deal with the slavers at Crookspur - they were slavers, they needed killin'. After the deed was done, Rauatai approached me to say they were taking the island. This was before accepting Onekaza's quest to recruit the Wahaki, which never appeared in my questlog when I did accept it, or even visiting the Wahaki for Aloth's quest. Anyway, upon finally visiting Ori o' Koiki and speaking to the chieftain for the above quests, she immediately got pissed about Rauatai taking the island after I told her I dealt with Crookspur, and refuses to speak to me further. I can't speak to her about the Painted Masks or helping the Huana. This was 2 months ago. I was hoping after several patches it would be fixed, but no dice. I know you guys are busy, but this is pretty game-breaking stuff for me and I'm assuming several other players as well - I can't complete the game with my preferred faction, and I can't complete the quest involving a companion who has been in my party the entire game. Hopefully something can be done about this? I know you can murder the chieftain at least for the Painted Masks, but I don't feel that should be my only option. I've attached a save file below for reference. Thoughts?
  16. I have a new iMac less than three months old. This game constantly has screen issues, half the screen is water half is land. Dialogue doesn't load properly on the screen, level up text doesn't load, voices cannot be heard. What is going on? I requested a refund and have been denied because I played for 5 hours. Half of that was spent trying to work around the bug issues, reloading the game. Waiting on the screen to load, hoping that it would work. I paid for the 59.99 package. This is insane. Ive attached a screenshot, I have more but they are more than 510kb.... I'm waiting on the second refund attempt and if that doesn't work I will post more until this is fixed.
  17. Sorry if these have been raised already, I tried searching the forum, but didn't find any hits. If they have please disregard. First bug Using the form of helpless beast spell and killing pig people = giant dead bodies. They first turn into giant pigs. And then giant people. Second bug There's a skeleton in the hanging sepulchers that I can't kill, or target. I can't get out of combat or leave and for some reason it's doing auto damage to my party even when we're not near it. Third bug Companions coming way too strong off the bat, usually immediately after they join the party. This leads me to rejecting all of their advances, because they are strangers at that point. First and third bugs aren't really too significant, with the prior even being amusing. The second bug makes it impossible to advance that specific quest, I'll probably just reload until it works, but I'd rather not.
  18. I just started a new playthrough using a cipher on POTD. Through whisper of treason my charmed enemies are randomly shedding their charmed effect during its duration without any other effect from other enemies or themselves(timer will go from like 10 sec left to disappearing). It has happened on xaurips, wolves, and bandits so far as I am only in the first act. I have not noticed this before and I can't find any information about a patch changing how it works.
  19. The Bonus from the item Wise Teeth Necklace, Old Wisdom (+1 Intellect, +1 History, +1 Insight) does not show up on the Character Sheet under Current Effects. The bonuses are applied to the stats and skills, but the modifiers are not documented under Current Effects, making it more difficult to manage equipment in order to avoid Suppression.
  20. Alright I've got 2 bugs I've encountered so far. First is I think an issue with quest progression. I went to the slavers place and got the Tip of the Spear quest. Then I got the quest from the Royal Deadfire Company to clear out the slaves. I did the Tip of the Spear then killed the slavers. Even though I completed Tip of the spear the game said that I had failed it and now it no longer exists in my quest log. Also when I went back to the Valian Republics HQ for more quests the game beleives that I'm in good with the slavers and that they're going to help out the Director in some way. The other bug is on the island Motare O Kozi with Baltia, when Eder attempts to relese her from the vines the game just ends the dialouge instead of freeing her.
  21. 1) The last added condition or action behavior is not saved. 2) Cloning Paladin behaviors not working right, some cloned items missing action name and icon, also condition not cloned. 3) Splitting an item in inventory splits the item to the left instead of the selected one, unless splitting item in position 1 (Top-Left) which works right. 4) The popup description for Intellect Affliction in Drugs and Potions is wrong, it is not describing the afflictions but intellect instead.
  22. Hopefully, people are still visiting the Pillars 1 forum. I really need some help. I am trying to replay Pillars of Eternity 1 while I wait for the bugs in 2 to be ironed out and I am suffering from periodic stutters every 30 seconds or so. The framerate's almost locked at 60 everywhere but it still stutters. It's quite annoying. Doesn't matter where I am, it still stutters. This and Pillars 2 are the only games I am having issues with on my system. Everything else runs fine. My system specs: OS: Windows 7 Professional (64 bit) CPU: i7 3770K (overclocked or not, it makes no difference) GPU: Geoforce GTX 1060 6GB (I have tried switching this with an older GTX 780. No change in stutter) Storage: 1TB SSD RAM: Kingston HyperX FURY 16GB (2x8GB) 1866MHz DDR3 Motherboard: Asrock Z75 Pro3 I do not have a Gsync Monitor. I have a "Generic PnP 60hz Monitor" Temps never go above 60 degrees Things I have tried: Vsync On/Off Lowered setting to the lowest it was possible to go. Capped framerate to 30 Ran game as administrator Tried running the game with each different compatibility setting Verified game cache with steam Updated nviida drivers Complete uninstall and reinstall of the game Tried the different launch parameters (-force-d3d11, -force-opengl) Double checked that the game was using my actual GPU. Temporarily disabled my integrated gpu to force the game to use of my dedicated gpu Ran with high cpu priority Fiddled with the cpu affinity (disabled and re-enabled the working cores to trick it into using my other cores, which HAS worked for different games before.) Overclocked the GPU Underclocked the GPU Removed any and all overclocking from GPU and CPU Tried to disable any non windows services Made sure everything else was closed with task manager before running the game. Checked to make sure I was using "Maximum Performance" power option. Disabled both Steam Overlay and the in-game telemetry. Turned off all my monitoring software(MSI Afterburner). Temporarily disabled my antivirus disconnected my ethernet cable removed any usb devices removed audio devices (certain older games crash when using certain audio devices) I don't know what else to do. Some people with lesser hardware are getting better performance while others with stronger hardware are getting worse performance. I am welcome to and appreciate any suggestions you might have.   23. In the Kraken Tavern no one has dialogue except the barkeep (guards/cook etc say or do nothing when clicked.) Also choices from PoE1 don't seem to be taken into account (Eder joined Night Market? Didn't become Mayor like in my PoE ending?) Anyone else having these issues? Couldn't see them on here. Thanks!

  25. Hello all, I purchased this game on release (in addition to a bit of beta experience w/ a buddy) and started playing it happily! I was initially very happy to be supporting such fantastic writing, artwork, and etc. I am baffled by the fact that my 30+ hours into the game are now... ALL GONE!!! I even restarted my journey giving the new patch a chance, thinking it might have been solved... but no! Upon the developers' request, I will post a full description of my system's attributes along with a recent saved game that i found in the "saved game" folder (documents) IF I GET A PROMISING RESPONSE THAT I HAVE NOT WASTED MY MONEY OR MY TIME!!!! I tried all the fixes that are currently available... NONE WORKED! If anybody can help I would greatly appreciate it. Sia
