  1. Yeah... ACC is much harder to stack now. Also most afflictions don't lower enemies' defenses that much anymore. More misses and grazes and a lot less crits are the result.
  2. A paladin can never reach the damage output of a monk. But a monk can't support the party. Sacred Immolation is very good. Don't ditch Drawn in Spring. It's the weapon with the highest dps in the game. It's just not optimal for FoD. What you always want to do is to put a lash on your weapon. If you took Scion of Flame it should be burning lashes. Cautious Attack is a bad pick in my opinion. It hurts your offense quite a lot but doesn't improve your defense that much. It's ok if you are a full tank, but as a dual wielder I wouldn't use it.
  3. Berserker/Bleak walker becomes even more nuts at PL VII with Blood Thrist and 0 Recovery after kill. Also Brand->FOD->Barbarian Blow is just nuts. And Spirit Frenzy- stuns on hits and and WIld Spirit and Focus Aura lol. He is a monster :D. I will play him after my Monk/Zerker Yes, pretty cool right from the start until the end I guess. Also the intellect resistance + Berserker seems to be cool as well as the several additional passive on-kill effects of paladins like Inspiring Triumph and the one that gives you back 1 zeal on kill. I now just want to check how Blood Thirst behaves with Cleaving Stance + Whispers of the Endless Paths.
  4. I'm doing Berserker/Devoted with great sword atm. Also tried Berserker/Bleak Walker - which was considerably more powerful during the first few levels.
  5. This is highly subjective. I like 4 per-rest spells better than 2 per encounter - because it's more powerful when you need the power - and in trash fights I need no spells. So I would be cautious with the random facepalms. So per-rest having more power when you need it, then auto attacking 80% of the rest of trash/combat, especially with full per-rest classes like mage/druid/priest, is better gameplay and what you'd prefer? You don't need spells for trash? Wut. Maybe if you're playing normal difficulty or otherwise casually. This isn't an mmo, there is no "trash" If you only need spells and most abilities for boss fights only, there's a (balance) problem. If you like that style of gameplay, you have an even bigger problem. So don't mind me if i /facepalm away You can facepalm as much as you like since it will only hurt your face, not mine. I only played PoTD and have a few hours "above the average" under the belt. One can't really say that I played this game casually. For me 90% of fights in PoE are trash fights when walking around with a full party. But even for solo runs per rest is to be preferred from a Powergamer's perspective. Of course it's a lot harder to balance and encounter design is a nightmare with per rest. Also for a new players without meta knowledge per encounter is better. Since they doesn't know what will come next most tend to hoard spells and then rest because of health issues. But since I have meta knowledge galore for me per rest is the preferred mechanic. As I said: highly subjective.
  6. With Barbarian it's also hard to decide. It seems a single class barb is a great thing.
  7. They are checked one after the other and his are multiplicative - meaning that the more conversions to add the less impact they have individually. If you'd have a 50% conversion and another 50% conversion you'd have 0.5 * 0.5 = 0.25 (which would be the chance NOT to convert). So rather than getting 100% you'll get 75%.
  8. Oh - that might be. That would be a good change. They changed a lot of stuff "secretly" without any patch notes whatsoever.
  9. Then you would most likely have crit without the modal and get +25% crit damage and also most likely +30% from overpenetration instead of +50%.
  10. Llawran's Stick is not the best weapon in the game. It's just a quarterstaff with speed.
  11. Single classes actually get more ability points than multiclasses.
  12. If you switch to another ranged weapon, e.g. blunderbuss or arquebus or whatever - does that work?
  13. With more power levels and more INT the summons last longer.
  14. Actually the damage of the weapon does influence SA. Not directly though. But once you execute SA you will do an attack roll with the weapon, deal physical damage which generates focus and then SA dumps its focus into the raw damage. So with a heavy hitter your SA raw damage will be a bit (not significantly) higher.
  15. Hover over the damage roll in the combat log, press shift. There will be a detailed explanation which dmg bonuses got applied. If Sneak Attack is not among them although the target has an affliction then it's a bug.
  16. Hi, I searched for all unique weapons via console just to get an idea what my first character (after hours of restarteritis) wants to specialize in. While there are several (awesome) unique great swords and especially lots of sabres (like - a LOT of unique sabres) there are only two morning stars, only one Pollaxe (and one soulbound), two pikes and so on. Most weapon types besides great swords and sabres only seem to have two uniques. I guess this is due to the new enchantment system - all enchantments are unique as well and require a lot of work, so it's understandable that there are less unique weapons. But why are they so weirdly distributed? Or did I miss some weapons that maybe don't follow the naming pattern? By the way: you can't go wrong with a "Devoted to great sword" in Deadfire.
  17. Some modals are really good, like the ones from Morning Star or clubs or flails - but not if you have them on all the time.
  18. I don't know. I haven't played around with Cleave so much. Dunehunter must know, he's loving it.
  19. Best synergy for summons still: Beckoner (+ Mith Fyr phrase) + Kind Wayfarer (+ Shared Flames). Both stack. Also great for the whole party.
  20. I did check it in beta, not in the final release yet (didn't try a Skald in the final game so far). May be that it changed.
  21. Cool. Was thinking about Berserker/Devoted with exploiting Blood Thirst + Cleaving Stance and can't decide on a weapon...
