  1. Just a big conversation hub with Mirke where her responses are all along the lines of burping and hiccuping would be funny
  2. Well, the idea that the gods don't know what will happen without the Wheel isn't correct The gods even tell you- the flow of souls will dry up as the Beyond emtpies. Or the In-Between, whichever one the souls go to. As for where souls came from, I dunno. They're an ambient energy in the world and part of the natural order. Everything on the world is a result of its formation as part of the birth of the star it orbits, and the star is formed from matter left behind by previous stars. Where did those stars come from, and the stars before them? Who knows
  3. The souls in the world are the only souls there are.
  4. I wouldn't read TOO far into that. He's from Aedyr, and Aedyran names tend to be based in Eld Aedyran. iirc he mentions having known(or known of) Maerwald, so while as an elf he certainly could be a couple of hundred years old, he presumably hasn't been imprisoned for more than 10 or so
  5. The sketches for the items are all in the game files, though I don't know about the 3D models. Apart from that it's just a matter of recreating the level-up conditions and effects for each one. Likely perfectly doable since soulbounds seem to progress in the same way in Deadfire, but would take a while to do
  6. I don't know how many Engwithan tombs would be from after they found out there are no gods- one can imagine certainly that it wouldn't be long between finding that out and self-destructing their civilisation in the Engwithan Apotheosis. Remember the soul in this setting isn't a person. A person is a person; a soul is a component of a person. Maros Nua's soul now is Maros Nua's soul, but if it gets reincarnated into Jimmy the tiger, it's now the soul of Jimmy the tiger. It's also worth bearing in mind that the question of how many Engwithans knew the truth is open. The people in charge did, the upper crust of society, but how much did your average Engwithan Joe going about his daily business know? Even if they did know, how freely available was the technology to manipulate your soul? How much would it cost to go to an animancer to get it done?
  7. Sidekicks get a lot more content in the DLC areas. You could pretty much just take sidekicks along and not be disappointed
  8. If it was something they'd abandoned then it was a super bad idea to not say that right away. At this point it's been nearly two weeks, if it's not happening and they say so now, well, there'll be fireworks
  9. Engwithans as a society had influence over the soul and the afterlife, but that doesn't mean individual Engwithans could do anything about it. The United States has a vast arsenal of nuclear weapons, but nobody posting here is likely to get hold of one
  10. More DLC items: SEEKER SLAYER SURVIVOR Ngati's Tusk https://pillarsofeternity.gamepedia.com/Ngati%27s_Tusk Survival (Hunter Of Hunters Upgrade) Keeper Of The Flame https://pillarsofeternity.gamepedia.com/Keeper_of_the_Flame Religion, again FORGOTTEN SANCTUM Aretezzo's Cane https://pillarsofeternity.gamepedia.com/Aretezzo%27s_Cane Intimidate or Diplomacy (mutually exclusive upgrades) Crimson Panoply https://pillarsofeternity.gamepedia.com/Crimson_Panoply Survival
  11. Oh, re his story: He was an archmage who joined the Hand Occult, and eventually became Weyc(basically the boss, I think?) At this point he discovered the truth of the gods, and presumably started acting up. He was imprisoned, and eventually escaped, and usurped the Oracle (who was a sort of ascended form of the original Weyc, I think?) and evidently is planning to continue acting up. Was he "erased" after joining the Hand, becoming Weyc, or being imprisoned? I think probably the latter, but I don't believe there's a definitive answer either way
  12. There's two character portraits called "llengrath" in the game files (three actually, one being the original) so I assume if you kill Llen in PoE1 another one takes over. My current character will be finding out in a few levels :D
  13. I love Fyonlecg! My favourite touch is him claiming he invented a bunch of spells that don't have a "name credit" in the game, like Wall Of Flame. Is he lying, does he have false memories, or is the Hand Occult really powerful enough to erase an archmage from the world? It's a spooky thought! His facial appearance felt very appropriate, like he's half-blinded himself in pursuit of sight. Feels like a continuation of the first game's theme of "if you find what you're looking for there will be consequences" On a more personal note, I like his reaction to finding out the gods are fake. I'm happy that you can talk about this with Ydwin and Fassina, but they're so blasé about it(imo anyway, I think that reveal turns the gods from a primal force of nature to an institution which only has power because it was given power and has no legitimate claim to it). I like that Fyonlecg found out about it and got mad.
  14. Yeah, as well as the player's point of view, the game developer might want to tweak and balance because if nobody wants to play as a chanter, then why are chanters in the game? Why did they work on all these abilities and dialogue options?
  15. You shouldn't freak out so much about swapping companions. You don't actually have to optimise every equipment choice and ability for every possible combination of party members
  16. No achievements for megabosses btw, if you're missing hidden achievements then it's a crit path thing for the game or DLCs
  17. If you have it on Steam then just right click on the game in your Library, then select Properties, Local Files, Browse Local Files. I imagine Gog Galaxy or whatever has a similar function, but then GOG also lets you decide where you want to install the game
  18. Many games make most of their sales within the first few days. A look at the achievement stats for PK will show how many people are sticking with it- so far 2% of its players have reached the end.
  19. Just mod the epic feats in, dude. It's the easiest thing.
  20. Yeah, I kind of think this game's sales were going to live and die on how it was at release, and they brought it out with a ton of prominent bugs, which I imagine harmed word of mouth as did their post release mass rebalancing of items and abilities- how much more clearly could you communicate "this game was not released finished". You can see a similar thing with how audience interest in Pathfinder kingmaker dried up
  21. Pen was designed to correct an issue with Pillars 1, where combat felt "mushy" because it wasn't sufficiently clear which options would be best in which situations. I feel like this could have been achieved by just making the difference between armour values bigger, rather than introducing a whole new mechanic: if something has 12 pierce armour but 8 fire armour then there's not much reason to use a fire spell instead of your bow, but clearly that would change if they made it 19 pierce armour and 5 fire armour
  22. All three DLCs add slides, but yeah they haven't been added yet to any wiki that I've seen. I don't believe there are any missable achievements, but one relies on having a conversation with one of the imps in Forgotten Sanctum after picking up a certain item, and I'm not sure if they both remain after the DLC is over, so talk to the imps every now and then to see if new dialogue options come up
  23. Try this: Open Pillars of Eternity II\PillarsOfEternityII_Data\exported\design\gamedata\global.gamedatabundle Search for "maxclasses" Change the number from 2 to 3
