  1. Huh, I already went to the Collections upper floor. Didn't do all the fights though, the vithrack are tough so I figured I'll come back with a better party. If nobody else makes a full "Forgotten Sanctum equipment" thread I'll make this one into that. I don't have a lot of free time so I would take a while to update the OP, so hopefully someone else does it!
  2. I had a quick peek in the game files and it looks like there are two soulbound items in this one (I thought there'd only be one, and neither of them is what I thought lol) So where can I find them? I want to get to work leveling them up as soon as possible
  3. It looks like you can call them anything you like. Pretty neat feature!
  4. Once it does update, just sail around until you get a scripted event, and do what occurs to you after it's over. Think you have to be post-Ashen Maw
  5. That's due to the secretive nature of Wael.
  6. Yeah, it's weird. At no point did he suggest it was actually half-assed so the title is misleading, and this isn't a Kotaku article it's a forum thread. Anyway, imo the ship combat isn't thrilling but it's inoffensive and adds an extra dimension to sailing that the game would probably feel a little weird without. It's not less fun than, say, scanning planets in Mass Effect 2(or, yeah, the hacking in games like Deus Ex or Alpha Protocol). Probably for the best that Feargus pushed for it
  7. Yeah I haven't run into it and assumed it was a DLC thing. Where would it be?
  8. Each megaboss gives you a cool trinket and an adra stone to upgrade your items to max level. The loot is bad ass
  9. Are you kidding me, those characters you mentioned look hideous. They're not fit to clean 2B's toilet.
  10. You don't really need anything more than what you're given. If you're curious about lore there's some in the various descriptions at character creation, otherwise you're a traveler seeking shelter in some ruins, let the adventure commence. For what it's worth, the sequel does have an intro that serves as a bit of a primer to the world
  11. I don't remember my pale elf missing anything much; the stuff my character didn't seem to know about was all the White, where my character isn't from. There was one point where I asked someone "what do pale elves think of wood elves?" and they said "well you're a pale elf, what do you think?" Aloth wasn't as appreciative as he could have been when I said he was OK
  12. 1: In the game's Pillars of Eternity II\PillarsOfEternityII_Data folder, create a folder called "override" if one doesn't already exist. 2: Download the mod file you want from the nexus and open it 3: Extract the contents of the mod into the override folder. 4: Launch the game, and from the main menu hit "options" and then "mod manager". Make sure your mod is visible in the list and activated. Done! Check the main page of any mod you download, because depending on what it changes some mods may ask you to install it in a different way
  13. A NASA rocket just reached Mars and sent an HD photo of Martian sunset, Democrats underperformed in the midterms, Fallout 76 has suffered half a dozen studio-ending PR catastrophes but continues to rake in cash regardless, oh and Stan Lee and Stephen Hillenburg both died
  14. More levels would mean less abilities per level to choose from. Some classes have a glut of spells at certain levels so it probably wouldn't really be a problem to spread them out more. Regardless, the issue isn't the number of levels, it's how much experience you get
  15. Ha. I think part of what made Pillars 1 work for me was that it was made on such a tight schedule they didn't have time to second guess themselves
  16. It's laid out for you as much as it can be, pretty much. You select an ability and hover over the enemy you want to use it on, and it shows you what your chances to hit are and why. If your ability/attack does damage, it'll show you what percentage of your full damage it'll do and why. When you attack there's a little summary in the combat log of what happened and why. Hover over an enemy and you can see their defences. Etc
  17. I'm not sure what you mean, could you be more specific? It's easy to use a weapon as a crafting ingredient for an enchantment, pretty much anything can be a crafting ingredient. I don't think you can make a system where you can make any item an ingredient for a crafting material that can be used in a recipe to upgrade any ither item, though. At least not easily
  18. There's not much subclass-specific dialogue anyway, except for priest gods and paladin orders, so there's not much in the way of expectations for the new subclasses. Though it would be neat if they managed to cram some in the DLC
  19. They'll come the first time and ask you for your opinion on something, then they'll come back and passively boost your stats but won't actually be anywhere. It's been a long time since the game launched now, but if I remember right the original version of the game had them standing around the main hall with a line or two (eg the thief asked where my vault was) but I think they took that out when they added the dilemmas
  20. You can create a subclass and there's already a bunch of them on the nexus
  21. You're very likely not going to be able to please everyone. A couple of late game choices might end up with a companion leaving the party- for example, if a character is loyal to a particular faction and you act openly (eg violently) against that faction, well... But that's all really late game stuff. Just go with your gut
  22. there isn't an achievement for it, so it's not like they can steal gaming valour. I think these words from Josh Sawyer regarding the Pillars 1 Trial Of Iron mode are appropriate:
  23. So there's a giant construct and a presumably normal-sized wizard. I've only had time to have a quick go with the construct, and it seems it behaves fairly normally for a short while, then it launches a million fireballs everywhere killing my entire party. This should be a fun one. Anyone uncovered any pro strats?
  24. I hope they have enough time to make any kith enemies in the DLC use the new subclasses, that'd be a great idea
