Izzia's missing
house2fly replied to topologista's question in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
I ran around Neketaka for a while and got the assassin event with Woedicans. Headed straight for Izzia and on the way also got ambushed by Magranites, lol. Then she forged me my nice new neck-crown. So it seems like it's all working normally, just that the ambushes don't have a very high chance of happening -
Finished it, great stuff. Some fun setups for battles, visually lovely and some really interesting lore writing. I felt a bit unsettled by the books about the end of the world that had been written in advance! I'm sad this team won't be making any more DLC but I'm certainly hoping to see more from them! I wouldn't mind seeing what they can do with a full game- PoE3 or a new setting, either would be good. I do have a criticism regarding the ending though: I didn't actually know at the time that my conversation with Wael would decide the fate of the god body. I picked what I wanted, it was just weird to then have it happen right away. I guess I'm just used to having outcomes determined in the "real world" conversations.

I think mod support for a console game is not really on the cards. Even a big name like Bethesda couldn't get round to it for months after release and had to navigate a bunch of console manufacturer requirements- I don't see Nintendo, for one, allowing mods of any kind on their platform. And Bethesda's really the only publisher who's made that happen, off the top of my head anyway.

I don't think 4.0 breaks much of anything, certainly nothing I've seen in any of the main mods. The mods you used may have been updated since you played last, though. I'd recommend going to the nexus and downloading the latest version, the site will show "update available" if a mod's been changed since you last downloaded it.

It's kind of funny that what you see is what you get with this DLC, considering Wael's portfolio. Reminds me of the first game, where the priestess tasks you with retrieving a stolen book, and when you find it Wael speaks to you directly with no attempt to be enigmatic or mysterious and says "ok now go hide it"

I loved that book which implied there was a person who became either Skaen or who Skaen was based on. It does seem to create room in the lore for an individual to undergo apotheosis- I can see a story hook in a possible third game revolving around the creation of a new god, with the possibility of the player ascending at the end to create a new god based on your choices. Whether or not this actually happens, it's really cool that they made that space for it. The incorporation of Yezuha as an ancient powerful empire on the level of Engwith and Ukaizo is neat too. Kind of suggests that Yezuha was separated from the rest of the world on purpose. I wonder why... I haven't finished it but my favourite bit so far is the rooms in the library which have stacks of books you can knock over, distracting the librarians so you can rummage through the shelves and steal all the books :D

I'm thrilled that there are sidekick conversations at Ukaizo now, I don't mind them not having much to say in general but it felt like a sad oversight that they'd have no lines at the end of the main story. You don't really need an optimised party for the endgame, so any reactivity to you bringing the party members you like the most is great. It's OK if Mirke doesn't say anything actually, or if her "conversation" is just her burping and swaying- that'd be nicely in character!
