  1. Because I'm still waiting for a deal on a new computer, and the GPU on my current old machine constantly crashes, the only games in my library that seemed like I could play and not tax the GPU are the old BG games. So I've started a run of BG1, SoD, and BG2, and for the first time ever am using a few select mods. I'm also playing the classic fighter-mage-thief multiclass for my PC, which I've never done before in my many, many times playing these games. It's rather rough here in the beginning, as my Charname is so very weak from having everything including XPs divided across three classes. But it amazes me how enjoyable it still is to play these now-ancient games.

  4. I had my annual physical last week and everything is looking good. I was even able to lower my cholesterol by 24 points by altering my diet and exercising. And fish oil, a whopper of a fish oil pill every day. Im also happy to report, that after ~7000-9000 years of human society, the finger is no longer the best tool in our toolbox to check the prostate gland. That test has been completely abolished and replaced with a blood test. HUZZAH! Now just to mail them back a box of poop and I can forget about it all for the next three years.

  6. Hey folks! Sorry for the state the forums have been in lately. From what we have seen, there has been a rather large increase in new members and even bigger increase in non-membered guests visiting the forums as of late, especially after Grounded went to PlayStation and Nintendo. We think the added traffic has been slowing things down a bit, so on Monday night (4/22), we bumped up our database service to try to help with performance. At the moment, I'm not noticing any slowdowns, but if you happen to run into any significant issues or slowdowns, please do let us know so we can look into it further and potentially increase the database service even more.

  8. I am mostly posting so Wormy doesn't think they killed the discussion - 16 hours without a reply... Since Underspace is now on GOG, I bought that. Since Wartales is getting tedious, I started Underspace. I finished the tutorial fights, including the optional storm chase. I think they seriously nerfed the serpent in the rift fight. That, or the demo I had played had been bugged and the NPC stormchaser had not been dealing damage back then. Now we made quick work of her and the rift. Took the optional route and docked at the anarch station, mostly to ensure I have the location on my charts. Now to decide whether I simply head back to civilization or turn to a life of crime and return to civilized space with a hold full of smut. Also if I buy a new ship here or on my return. I understand you are supposed to buy a ship at this point - all stations seem to be selling ¥26.000 light fighters, medium fighters, heavy fighters, and a transport. I have not enough time in the game to really check the difference between the corp and pirate ships. Considering the medium pirate fighter, since medium is usually something that doesn't gimp you in any category too badly. And the pirate ships are what's on sale here. Life's hard.

  10. Hi folks, sorry for the delayed response, we've been heads down working on the deployment of this patch. We're anticipating to release in the coming weeks, we're just locking in deployment on the various platforms now. Currently we are targeting Steam, Game Pass, GOG, and Epic Store for PC. We've also been working on Mac and Linux builds, which we're hoping to push in a separate patch along with more continued improvements and bug fixes. Thank you all for your patience and support.

  11. Hi there! Longtime lurker here finally engaging with all you lovely people. I'm coming back to pillars after a while and am trying to choose what to play. I generally have a huge problem constantly restarting to try different builds, and then reading everything about them and then starting something new. It's annoying. So after much consideration I've narrowed down what I want to play to monk, priest or druid. This is for the first and second game. I will probably be using community patch and the balance polishing mod btw. I've beaten the first on hard and played through much of it on potd. I haven't played the second game as much but plan to go through it (after the first) on potd as well. But I just can't decide on a class to take all the way through both (for roleplaying reasons). Like I mentioned I settled on priest, druid, or monk. I know these are all good and strong classes in both games and I enjoy vancian casters as well as the monk's wounds system. I think I'd like to stay single class since... well I just like it more conceptually I guess? I don't know. Does anyone have any strong opinions on what's most fun or engaging for both games, but mostly the second? I think I'd go with priest of berath so I could mix damage and support if I went priest but I'm open to other options. Druid I'm less sure... Fury for blasting? Ancients for dots and summons and heals? The flexibility sounds nice maybe? Monk seems fun too but again I'm caught between mortar monk and forbidden fist tank monk. Serious decision paralysis. So ya, I'd love and appreciate if anyone could weigh in with what they think to help me decide.

  12. Full VO is EXTREMELY expensive. Good voice actors aren't cheap at all and especially RPGs usually have a lot of text that would need to be recorded.

  13. Yuppie Psycho, successfully 100%-ed! This time, I played through the 'true' ending, which actually properly resolved the central story once and for all... ...but it was personally much more horrifying for me. Steam lists these two game tags back-to-back, just like this, for Yuppie Psycho: It's honestly pretty accurate, and I think I'd say that cute horror is the best horror. The same developer is working on a similar game that I hope is at least 75% as good, and having now played this game twice (although really more like three times, what with the failed "no save" playthrough mentioned in my previous post having gotten me like 80% of the way there), I can now safely qualify this game as one of my favorite games of all time - it's stuck with me for years at this point, and I still love it. There's something about all the different little pieces that come together perfectly to make it a really personalized-for-me kind of game. Though I could probably play quality games in this genre (this kind of top-down exploration game with fun characters, world, and story) for probably forever if I had enough of them. If anyone knows of any more, feel free to recommend them to me. Though I've already played SIGNALIS, which was similar-ish and which I also really liked.

  14. Interesting that from what I've read, "voicing every character in the game" appears to be either a feature that doesn't particularly impress players or seems like a downright mistake (for me, it's a mistake, because it seems obvious that it constrained the writing too much and too early), and the fact that "Sawyer was blocked from cutting a major feature" (assuming it's naval combat, which I'm pretty sure it was) looks like a big mistake to an awful lot of players (in my view, all time spent on this feature was time wasted). So, "Obsidian", whoever that happens to mean exactly, seems to have made two big mistakes or at least two choices that made very little positive difference in the game, and Sawyer knew it and just had to soldier on with it.

  16. I dont want to oversell it, so lets call it "lite" exercising. I dont go to a gym or have any machines (I do have a workout bench), I just do bodyweight and dumbbell exercises in my own bedroom. With that said, once a day, every single day, I do the following: As many pushups as I can do before I cant get up off the floor. Minimum 20, current max 23 80 crunches (20 top, bottom, r-side, l-side) 20 dumbbell bench with 25lb weight 20 dumbbell butterfly with 25lb weight 40 dumbbell curl with 25lb weight (20 right, left) 40 dumbbell lift with 25lb weight (20 right, left) As you may notice, Im throwing the kitchen sink at myself and my methodology goes against recommendations of working muscle groups on certain days. Like back/biceps one day, chest/triceps the next day...that sort of thing. I just do everything everyday and let my body sort it out. However having exercised 112/114 days so far this year has yielded noticeable improvements in my stamina, physicality and internal health.

  18. Not talked officially yet, but French does this all the time with their Foreign Legion in Sahel. They soldiers were attacked a lot by ISIS and similar bunch, and they never invoked Article 5. And some "analytics" are cautiously speaking about similar scenario. Also, there are already troops from NATO countries in Ukraine, but always just as advisors or trainers. Not in combat duties.

  19. You little perv you.... Edit: speaking of medical checks, I usually get checked twice a year, but the blood test etc. only once a year. I get a prefilled form (a requisition) from the doctor and take it to a lab of my own choosing at a time that suits me, so not too bad really. Crossing fingers and knock on wood, the results the last 6 years have been that of a healthy young man (despite me being anything but)

  22. I went to a big BBQ/party at my sister's today. The weather did not completely cooperate, but it didn't rain enough to ruin the festivities. Obscene amounts of delicious food were consumed. The slaw I brought got wiped out quickly, so I'll take that as a success. Thank goodness I don't have to work tomorrow because I'm in a food coma and I'm not sure I'll recover by the morning. I ate enough to last me 3 days.

  24. I recently finished The Outer Worlds. +Huge world to explore +Well written dialogue +Gunplay feels fun +Choices matter -Gun variety is awful -Main story is boring -Factions don't have any meaningful motivations Overall I'd give it a fair 7.5/10 Started playing Stalker: Shadow of Chornobyl on the PS5. My god is it hard on Stalker difficulty. I am reaching the end of the game and I am getting my butt kicked left and right...cannot...take it anymore! Definitely gonna start the other two games on novice difficulty since I am getting the feeling that the console version is a little harder compared to the vanilla version on PC.

  27. What makes this game significant, besides the fact that it's a follow up to a generally well liked game, is that AFAIK it's the first of the Unity Exodus games, at least of note. What I mean by Unity Exodus is games that were originally going to use Unity but switched engines because of the whole debacle where they were going to retroactively start charging developers (more) money where they hadn't before. I believe the ***holes that made that call at Unity wound up walking it back, but not before the engine's reputation had been thoroughly dragged through the mud. Plus, if they tried that once what's to stop them from trying that again? Anyway, the devs of Slay the Spire 2 wound up switching to the free and open source Godot engine despite the fact that the game was already in active development using Unity and they stuck to that even when Unity walked back their policy change. I'll be curious to see a high-ish profile game using Godot hit the market and how it performs. Could Godot become effectively the replacement for Unity for indie devs?

  30. Why do all these types of games have the same exact plastic people looking models? Even if all you saw was a close up picture of the face, no body, no title, nothing else, you could be 100% certain of what type of game it is. Is there a specific game engine they all use with stock character models included or something? I have nothing against porn games, but diversify your art styles you perverts. As a fellow pervert I say perverts in the most loving sense.

  34. I would guess average modern town/colony builders end things/want to start over somewhere around here. Maybe more tightly packed houses. I've been kinda all over the place building those. And then there's the people like me. Sadly I don't think PC will allow filling map entire. That's still only maybe 2/3. At around 3300population now.

  35. I had some ~*Dark Souls experience*~ with Fear and Hunger for myself over a weekend, that is, played a number of sessions without the savescumming mod and just let bad luck take me wherever. It went like this: † Won three Necronomicons in a row, won the coin toss to read them all without going mad and consequently dead, lost the toss to a monstrosity next door, died; † Had a lucky streak with good armor and weapons, won the coin toss for successful rest, but it appears that if you don't kill this one really weak enemy beforehand, he drags you to his torture room where you, well, eventually die; † Forgot to give the little girl I rescued from the cage her whiskey and opium, she got too sad and left; † Some **** of a mage sang my limbs away, fortunately was able to will myself into suicide; † Defeated some monstrosity surprisingly easily, it dropped a thing that would cancel annoyances like bleeding, infection and worms away, couldn't equip it because of cursed item in the slot; † Okay, "What if I jump into the latrine?" is entirely on me. And that's with mercifully brief combat. If I had to experience all this plus a drawn-out twitch-based fight before kicking it? Gimme that sweet Necronomicon. On the savescumming runs, one party failed forward straight into their goal, unfortunately the dude I was hired to rescue turned up dead, so hauled my arse all the way back to see if I were allowed to leave since what's the point of staying there anymore? Indeed I was allowed to leave, got "Ending E", which implied endings A, B, C and D. Went to game's wiki and it appears I missed, like, 90% of game? Okay good. Wasn't planning to quit it any time soon anyway.
