  2. hmm. the wall is a good example o' where we disagree. in his fight to build an ineffectual wall on the southern border, trump forced a national shutdown which cost the nation billions o' dollars and he subsequent stole money from the dod which woulda' gone to repairing levees and military base housing and schools. trump pushed his wall building aspirations in spite o' Congress not allocating the President funds and senators stood silent as he did so. trump avoided impeachment investigations in a way never considered possible previous to this administration. refuse to provide document

  3. Guys, I'm starting to think some of these legal challenges might not have been thought out all that well.

  4. Trump considers executive order ending birthright citizenships there are also a number of stories where people in the CIA and elsewhere are worried that he will reveal some of the nations secrets on his way out of office. Add that to the numerous election challenges that even he knows are now pointless. He appears committed to creating any kind of mischief he can in the time he has remaining even though he knows it is all over. Do you know who this guy is? This is Saruman going to the Shire after being kicked out of Isengard. hey I should get some points here for finding a way to a

  6. If you take the Saruman analogy to its final conclusion Trump will end up 'dead' via Rudi Giuliani, who snaps after finally deciding he can't take any more abuse. But who are we kidding anyway, Trump will resign a couple of days before being kicked out ruining all the stationary and commemorative knick knacks saying Biden is the 46th President, get Pence to pardon him, spend the next four years fighting prosecutions anyway then President Ivanka will pardon him again in 2025.

  7. Well Belgrade is a city that has been leveled to the ground in more than a couple of wars, so architecturally it's a hodgepodge of different styles. Also with the Bosnian war more than a million Serbians were chased out of Croatia/Bosnia, so Belgrade had a very large influx of people in a short time which called for a lot of cheap buildings to be made.

  8. I remembered this thread after a new website with aerial pictures of Vienna went online. Like with Keyrock there's really no point in posting pictures of the 'burbs here, but the city's quite nice to look at I guess: If you're intrested you can look at the rest.

  9. Just curiosity getting the better of me. One day I was logging in, checking posts from new accounts that needed approval (for those who don't know, a new account needs 5 approved posts to their post count to get out of moderated status, something that catches a shockingly large number of spam bots, which most people never get to see). Then I started reading a number of threads, trying to cover those where tempers sometimes flare up a bit or to add some oh so clever snarky remark. Not to boost my post counts, because posts in WoT doesn't count. Then I tried to remember, how did I even

  10. Yup. When I got the first Samsung, I decided to get a pneumatic-arm stand for it... and one of the twin-armed stands was on sale and cost about £5 more than the one-armed. So I thought, eh, juuuuust in case I decide to splurge on a second monitor at some point in the future....

  13. To post a bit more on topic: I think I came back after Sarge posted in one of our BIS/Interplay diaspora forums that tarna had died. My account still worked, so I logged on to pay my respects. Stuck around, unlike way back when. Why? That's a good question. I was on the verge of saying because all the other places died off, but that would come out wrong. It's not like I'm here because this is a leftover and there's no place else to return to (although Gorth inadvertently killed off the Winterwind forums with a post I think Josan misunderstood a bit in a rather emotional moment). 14. Horizon Zero Dawn is coming to GOG. That's pretty random random video game news. (probably another 'thanks Epic' situation where it isn't any more trouble sticking it drm free on GOG than it is being drm free on EGS, per Outer Worlds/ Metro Exodus etc)

  19. Not much to say about Brisbane really... it's a city? Never were particularly fond of cities, always preferring to live as far as way as I could get while still have a job in said city. I guess the river is Brisbane's defining feature, shaping it's layout and history (and the evolving suburbs spreading out from the city center) The annual Riverfire festival (cancelled 2020 for covid reasons) Following the river to the sea and the outer suburbs there A hostel in Brisbane. Lots of backpackers in the city most years

  23. I'm paraphrasing here, but the sentiment I hear repeatedly is, "You can't create discord, you can only exploit it". Critical thinking isn't a skill that is taught in the US public school system. Nor it is particularly valued. Case in point, Edgar Welch thought he had common sense and research on his side. Self-deception takes a lot of effort to overcome.

  24. Ok, I get that there might be other modern world games, there are other open world games. GTA is the current king of the open world genre. I preferred Saint's Row myself, but the GTA games are the benchmark. Just like Skyrim seems to be the fantasy open world benchmark (or is it Witcher 3 now?) So yeah, Cyberpunk will get the comparison unless it becomes the new benchmark.
