One of the gags with the dating app is Ichiban getting a really mundane, not in any way sexy picture from his potential date and going all "AWOOOOOOGA!" Edit: Not all of the dates are jokes, though, you do actually get real dates with the app with cheesecake shots and cringe "romantic" dialogue. @BruceVCwould love it! There's the possibility that there is a sidestory in there if I go deep enough into the mini-game, RGG likes to do that some times. I'll probably go through this mini-game to the end to see if it has a sidestory... And for the cheesecake.3 points

I swear they're waiting until Bloodborne is emulatable before they decide they ought to start developing their "remaster" of it. Felt like that's what happened with Demon's Souls: playable on emulator in 2017, and then Sony set Bluepoint Games to start development of the crappy remaster in 2018. That, or maybe the rumor about Sony and FromSoftware having completely lost the source code for Bloodborne is true. Thing is, I don't really care if they re-release it on console again, as I'd just run into the same problem that happened when it was a PS3 exclusive...I'll keep my PC around in some form or another for forever, but certainly not these crapbox consoles.2 points

Hangin' with the boys: The photo app has your usual assortment of filters and such. There's, of course, karaoke: Works extra well with Kiryu's grizzled boy band member on a re-reunion tour look. There's a dating app mini-game: So far the 2 "hot dates" I got turned out to be a fat neckbeard guy and a homeless dude.2 points

That would be a dream, but I am not getting my hopes down. "Can cRPS be succesful" was never in question. Pathfinders did well, D:OS1&2 did well. BG3 did extraordinarily well, but I doubt Microsoft will suddenly fund 400 team to create their own, in an IP with mixed success. I do sincerely hope they will give PoE another shot in the near future, but am not expecting to see it either.1 point

And Manus is down! He gave me a lot of trouble, but much less than I’ve expected, and much than both Artorias and Kalameet. The fight is fun though, it either kicked my ass under 20 seconds, or I was able to get him down to 50-25% easily, and then I made a stupid decision. I got him once to 10% and forgot to defend and roll his Dark Beads spell Then I got owned few more times, and I was finally able to defeat him with Dragonslayer Spear and 3 Chaos Fireballs So far, the hardest fights was Artorias and Sif (yes, I have completely ****ed up that one fight ) All I need to do is some kind of clearing and item grinding, and then I can go against Lord Gwyn again. I already see him as a big pain in the ass, as I suck at parrying1 point

Some things better, some things not. From gameplay experience, I think PoE2 is overall better (even though I did like so, of PoE1 systems). More refined system, more transparency in class progression, about the same length, but “less filler more killer”. Where I think PoE2 falls short is companions and narrative. Not that there isn’t a lot of good stuff to enjoy there - worldbuilding is probably better, as you won’t have to resort to book reading to understand broader context. Deadfire’s history, culture, and political situation is neatly conveyed through engaging quests, rather than plain text. I also don’t think story is bad per say - I enjoyed every minute spent in three of my Deadfire playthroughs. The game is very open ended though, and the narrative doesn’t have strong sense of progression. While PoE1 ending give an interesting perspective to everything we have been through, PoE2 ending feels like a set up to be followed up on. I felt there wasn’t sufficient pay off to our adventure in the Deadfire, and the ending made my gasp for PoE3. And with PoE3 not happening in foreseeable future I see it as a bad thing. in short, I felt the beginning and end were the weakest part of Deadfire. Everything inbetween is pretty darn good. And of course, all three DLCs strongly recommended. They are more of a smaller side adventures this time around, but we’ll worth your time. I would also recommend reaching for some mods. Not necessary, but I refuse to play without them: 1) Enhanced User Interface - adds some icons and colour coding to make game’s mechanics easier to understand. 2) Community Patch - might be a bit biased, but thanks to hard work of a wonderful folks in the community we got those lovely pack of tweaks and fixes. But being a shallow person that I am, it is a must for me due to unique icons made by @Boeroer to make skill trees a bit more exciting. 3) Deadly Deadfire (just xp!) - while the whole mode is great, I wouldn’t recommend it for first playthrough. I would, however recommend the file that just reduces XP by 25%. Due to the open nature of Deadfire it is too easy to greatly out-level available content for the vast majority of the game. While PoE1 had reputation of being perhaps to difficult, Deadfire swung the other way. The penalty to XP makes it possible to the enjoy all the content there is, without getting too ahead of the difficulty curve. The base game is still pretty easy for the most part.1 point

For me Steam didn't crash but sometimes the screenshot pop-up window would take like 5 minutes to actually display the pictures and sometimes it would never display the pictures... Maybe I just didn't wait long enough. I could close the window, though, and Steam would be fine. I don't bother with that stupid window any more, though. I just made a folder ~/Pictures/Screenshots (I'm a Linux weirdo, that's a Linux path) and set Steam to put all screenshots there instead of the dumb folder buried DEEP within the file structure where you need to figure out the AppID number of the game, it's not hard to find, but, it was just dumb and tedious if I ever needed to find screenshots manually. Now I open up my file manager and I'm there in 2 clicks. The only issue I had was with LaD:IW the in-game pictures you take using the camera app are not technically screenshots, there's no way to get those uncompressed AFAIK and they're saved to a different folder, similarly buried DEEP within the file structure. I solved that issue by creating a symlink to the folder in ~/Pictures/Screenshots and now I can get to that folder in 3 clicks.1 point

I've been using it, though only JPEG can be uploaded as screenshots through Steam (which now crashes with a 50% chance when I open the Screenshots window). With the uncompressed files and, for example, Imgur, it looks much better. Control end-game spoiler.1 point

Thanks for making that list! Agree, it'll be much better. I'll make this change on next update.1 point

Dispersed Suffering from Frostfall also target will, and against skellies it is the surest way to increase hostile effects on him (6 skellies + thunderous report with frostfall equipped mean potentially 6*20% of the effect on enemies, + many lives skellies sacrified for the cause during the fight with a frostfall set).1 point

Fantastic! One thing I suggest would be swapping the "DebugName" ("Pro-Humor", "Pro-Duty", ) for the name of each topic as it appears in the game ("Lighthearted", "Dutiful"). Anti-Gods = Antireligious Anti-Tradition = Progressive Kind to Animals = Animal Kindness Pro-Autonomy = Autonomy Pro-Deceit = Skulduggery Pro-Duty = Dutiful Pro-Gods = Piety Pro-Humor = Lighthearted Pro-Immodesty = Pride Pro-Passion = Impassioned Pro-Provincial = Provincial Pro-Resourcefulness = Resourcefulness Pro-Stewardship = Stewardship Pro-Tradition = Traditional Pro-Worldly = Worldly1 point

Berath/Rogue with Spiritual Great Sword is cool imo. Also I once made a PoE Priest build with Tidefall - so for me that's a nice fusion with a dash of nostalgia. Spiritual Great Sword - fully buffed through peak disposition scaling (= picking the right dialogue options to boost stoic and rational) gains a potent lash (multiplicative damage bonus) which works very well with the Rogue's additive damage bonuses (sneak attack and so on). For a melee Rogue Streetfighter is always nice. But if you want to initially cast and then go into melee you have to keep in mind that the Streetfighter is slower (=has longer recovery) than a regular Rogue as long as he's not flanked or blooded. Both is usually not the case at the beginning of a fight. So your recovery time will be longer which will make your casting slower. Assassin sneaky dude + Berath doesn't really fit thematically imo. Although mechanically the +25 accuracy from stealth and invisibility works pretty well with some offensive Priest spells. Trickster also doesn't seem to be a great fit thematically because Berath being stoic and rational while being a "Trickster" implies all sorts of non-seriousness. But mechanically it's a good combo. The illusion spells of the Trickster help a lot with being more sturdy, the Ryngrim spell fits Berath imo - and the downside (slightly lower Sneak Attack damage) is barely noticable, especially after a few (Power) levels. Debonaire: eh no vanilla Rogue: why not? No upside but also no downside. And the nearest to a PoE1 Rogue. I personally would pick the Trickster I think - and then "justify" the weird subclass combo with some internal explanation as to why this Trickster is a rational and stoic one.1 point

I just finished a Berath run, actually there're very few special interactions for them, maybe slightly more than other priests but much less than I expected. If you really want to play it, I highly recommend go single class. SC priests have a very different playstyle compared to MC ones, and Berath is one of the better pure casters among all subclasses.1 point

I looked and .NET 8 (which Apotheosis is built with) sadly does not support Windows 7. https://github.com/dotnet/core/blob/main/release-notes/8.0/supported-os.md https://github.com/dotnet/core/issues/7556 I wasn't aware of this, I'm really sorry.1 point

Played an completed The Chant, it's sort of an interesting occult horror-ish game. It's ... OK (I mean, I finished the main game), not sure if, or when I'll get to the DLC though. 6/10 I'd say. Picked up Mass Effect: Andromeda in a sale and it starts out decent enough (I'm pretty early in, I assume anyway, as I just completed my crew), well, story-wise anyway. But graphics, dialogues, characters, and their motivations (including the PCs, tbh) etc. all seem a pretty clear downgrade over the previous games. Feels like a game with potential that a committee got their hands on. At least it hasn't bored me into no longer wanting to boot it up, so far anyway, unlike Bethesda's latest attempt.1 point

Did want to just add a note the 2h thing that Ivanfyodorovich mentioned (and also adding a note to yorname’s similar findings). I did find that 2h weapons performed ably post-various-patch-adjustments in simulated tests, but is dependent on enemies actually having decent AR to worry about (where the “extra” penetration that 2h get matters). So it’s true-ish for veteran difficult, true for POTD, and all the truer if you unable upscaling-only mode. on lower difficulty settings 2h is going to feel worse than 2w. I don’t remember the specific numbers anymore, but them’s the breaks.1 point

Hello and welcome! I was about to say "Soublade/Trickster" because that would be my favoire combination of the mentioned classes. Imo Paladin/Soulblade can be much more versatile than Paladin/Trickster and it has potentially unlimited resources (focus). But it takes more time to develop, the Trickster is a little bit more front-loaded - and Riposte + Offensive Parry stack which can be cool. If you ignore the rest of the Cipher powers (besides Borrowed Insticts) and only use Soul Annihilation it also might become a bit boring, too. I personally would pick the Soulblade I think. Paladin subclasses: for tanking purposes I like Goldpact Knight who can can sort-of unlimited +4 AR because Sword Rival gives you back the Zeal you paid for the Golden Enmity as soon as the Rival is killed. I also like Steel Garrote because Offensive Parry does an automatic daze and that unlocks the health-draining passive of the Steel Garrote. It's even better with Trickster+Persistent Distraction: every Riposte/Offensive Parry and other melee attacks will drain health which stacks with stuff like Exalted Endurance and so on. But most players have a problem with playing a not so kind Paladin subclass. Goldpact at least has no problem with being nice - as long as he keeps a cool head. From a role-playing perspective I think Darcozzi + Trickster fits very well. Also the Darcozzi Fireshield isn't bad for off-tanking. --- If you are open to other multiclass pairings for this Whispers of the Endless Paths Paladin I can recommend Steel Garrote/Bloodmage (Arcane Knight) which has some great tricks up its sleeves in combination with that weapon and some other items. Forbidden Fist as second class to a Goldpact or Steel Garrote with WotEP/Offensive Parry can also work well. With the Community Patch mod I'd also recommend Shattered Pillar instead of Forbidden Fist.1 point

Black Dragon Kalameet has been defeated. And his tail cut as well it took me definitely more than 20 tries combined. I had to relearn the fight as well, and due to big break from playing the game, I became less patient again, which caused more wipes, than I would have liked. It took me around 2 hours or so to find a way, how to defeat him with my playstyle1 point

I just completed PoE White March 2 and like WM1 it was very entertaining, I prefered 2 to 1 overall. It also only took me 20 hours or so That means I have completed PoE1 in its entirety and I can share my views on the game. Some of this I have already mentioned in a previous post. The most significant positive about this game is Obsidian has been able to create a new fantasy RPG world and different mechanics around ruleset than most of us are use to compared to traditional D&D, I appreciated it but it took some getting use to. So for example any class can basically use any armour or weapon. The combat is a massive and main part of the game and I enjoyed it once you understand how abilities work, I didnt really like how you limited around healing in the normal sense and the whole health vs endurance mechanic was not preferable for me compared to normal D&D similar mechanics. But its not a big deal My favorite battles were with the Eyeless, I liked paralyzing them or using my Cipher and Stasis Shell to isolate them in combat and I really had fun with the strategic nature of hard battles Crafting was rewarding and made sense, there was nothing better than finding a high level ingredient like a Dragons Eye and knowing you can gain a major combat upgrade.I also liked how you can find important items to help in combat and increase stats and they not common so you really appreciate finding them The main narrative was one of the best parts of the game and I found it very thought provoking. I enjoyed most of the lore but I also found myself forgetting things like who a specific deity was, thank goodness for the encyclopedia ...it became my friend on a regular basis I can understand this game is an acquired taste, its not for all fans of fantasy RPG and the combat can sometimes feel draining, I dont like enemies appearing out of nowhere but its not all the time. I used pause and slowed the speed which allowed me to micromanage my party which I enjoyed. My main character was a priest and the game offered some interesting classes like Cipher which is lots of fun So in closing, great game and its gets a 75/100 on the globally endorsed "BruceVC game rating system " Now I plan to play PoE2 after a short break from this type of genre, how is PoE2? What is the consensus, better than PoE1?1 point

Greetings! To anyone having difficulties finding the public beta, our apologies for not specifying - the beta branch does not yet support Mac/Linux, this is something we're investigating. Sorry for the confusion, I'll keep you posted if we make progress on this front. Also, for comments on One-Eyed Molina's Gold-Fingered Spike-Flinger and other Deadfire pack soulbound weapon groups, I'll make sure we correct that for the next build of this patch. Thanks for the support on this one. For answers to other questions, see below! @Mraicor One trap per character and/or trap talents. This is a little outside the scope for this patch, but there's definitely a community desire for better trap archetype support and it's not outside of possibility for a future patch. I'll track this and put it to consideration. Thanks for calling attention to it! I'll also make sure each of the other issues you reported are tracked and investigated as well (Korgrak, The Old Watcher, Deadfire items (mentioned above)). Thanks for the support! @Kvellen Output logs should exist at - [Your LocalDrive]\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Pillars of Eternity\PillarsOfEternity_Data\output_log @Space-Cadet No PC controller support at this time. Though, if the opportunity presents itself, it's something I'd like to investigate in the future. @DicesMuse This patch is focused on PC at this time. @Macklin I'll have to investigate the missing commentary tracks, if we have access to them we may be able to restore them in the future. Thanks for calling attention to the issue. @beger Thank you for the support. We've tracked the text size discrepancy and will investigate. @Cerebro83 We've tracked the VFX issue with the Cinders of Fate quest, thanks for your support! @VerNOX We would like to investigate all mods that provide fixes to known issues of the game to ideally incorporate them. Though please bear with us as we work to catch them all. In the meantime, you may wish to use mods for any we have yet to address. Also, thank you for reporting the high-resolution sharpness issue, I'll make sure we investigate this as well. @kronozord The public beta is on Steam only, but when the patch goes live Epic & GoG is expected to be included in the update. Also, this patch has no relation to Avowed, we simply love all of our games and the fans that play them and have an opportunity to make some improvements for everyone involved. @sirrus233 I'll put the suggestion for the original title screen in our database, it would be nice to see again. @Mister_Nobody We'll need to investigate this issue further; do you happen to have a save game you could provide to our support team? If so, we might be able to track down the root cause more easily. If not, we'll do our best to reproduce it on our end with the info you provided. Either way, thanks for letting us know! @Silvaren Thanks for reporting the athletics issue, I'll make sure it's tracked and investigated. @Nightwing32 I'll get the lack of mercy option tracked and investigated. Thanks! @davoker I'll make sure we investigate these issues, especially Psychic and Brutal Backlash. Thanks! @Chaospread I mentioned One-Eyed Molina above, but thanks for also reporting the inconsistency with Korgrak as well. I'll make sure this is tracked. Thanks! @warralek We plan to give the patch a healthy runway to make sure there are no big issues from the engine upgrade, during this time we may update the build version on the public beta once or twice before going live. There's no set timeline for how long that will be, but if we don't see many new issues, or we've resolved most of them, we'll wrap it up and investigate other issues. Thanks everyone for your participation in this beta, your feedback, and your dedication to the game. EDIT** - Also for those that are concerned about your favorite mods that may become invalidated on Steam after the patch goes live, we are investigating moving the current live version to a legacy branch when the new patch goes live. This should allow those that wish to continue their existing playthrough with their current mods to do so. And will give some runway for any popular mods to be updated down the line. More on this as we get closer to release.1 point

A 2023 anime about dungeon-crawling and literal video game mechanics centered around a male character and eating food, what could go wrong? For Bartimaeus who can't think of anything that he doesn't hate about this...nothing, so let's check it out - these things have a good track record, after all. I'm exactly 2 minutes and 8 seconds into the episode and I really, really, really want to turn it off. I'm getting some painful flashbacks to the very first anime I gave an honest try, My Hero Academia, which is what lead to me instead trying Sailor Moon. Sailor Moon did not infuriate me every second of every minute like the three episodes of My Hero Academia that I watched before tossing it into the nearest incinerator did. You know, I'm pretty sure the hard drive that I used to store the first season of My Hero Academia has since died, and I'd say good riddance. I am now 3 minute and 1 seconds into the episode and I feel like my brain is going to explode from an aneurysm. I don't want to do this anymore. 4 minutes and 53 seconds, seeing this girl's stupid face matched with her boilerplate anime proclamation of not giving up has made me quit. I hope the hard drive I used to store the first episode this show also dies sometime soon. Yes, I could've easily just watched it on Netflix, but I didn't want Netflix trying to recommend any anime to me.1 point

Sounds like I'm right: https://www.eurogamer.net/whats-going-on-in-avowed-we-quiz-obsidian-after-the-xbox-developer-direct This looks like they're using loadouts and more importantly all active abilities are tied to the same button and AI is gonna be used to decide what 'ability' gets used without player input. So the ability button is almost certainly on some kind of really slow cooldown otherwise you could jump into battle and just spam it.0 points
