A new build in the year of our lord 2024? Sure why not. Thought i'd post this build that i have for a merc in my current run, as an illustration of the fun you can have with a blackjacket, and charbuilds don't have to be OMNIPOWERFUL SOLO-CAPABLE BEASTS to be a lot of fun. This is a pure support character with lots of flexibility to slot into your party. Warden - blackjacket, animist (cat form) hearth orlan, stats: 9might, 10con, 15dex, 20perception +1 from bg, 17int, 6resolve skills: alchemy : stealth in a 2:1 ratio, prefer investing in stealth at first abilities: Disciplined Barrage, Winter Wind [get Sunbeam for free] Tanglefoot Fast Runner Fighter Stances (use Adventurer stance), Conjure Lesser Blight* [get The Moon's Light for free] Into the Fray Determination** Tactical Barrage, Spreading Plague [get Returning Storm for free] Snake Reflexes Arms Bearer Out of the Fire, Boiling Spray [get Conjure Blight for free] Quick Switch Unstoppable OR Secret of Rime if you have a source of dex resistance from gear Conquerer Stance, Cleansing Wind [get Plague of Insects for free] Rapid Casting Armored Grace Clear Out, Conjure Greater Blight [get Sunlance for free] Quick Summoning Reaping the Whirlwind Uncanny Luck, Weather the Storm [get Lashing Vine for free] Accurate Empower *: respec out of Conjure Lesser Blight once you have two castings of Conjure Blight (so level 13). Choose Determination or Woodskin, whichever one you still need considering the below point. **: respec out of Determination to Woodskin once you get Lance of the Midwood Stag enchanted with Lord of the Forest Weapon slots: I: The Red Hand, enchanted to push II: Lance of the Midwood Stag early to mid to mid-late game (enchanted with Lord of the Forest), Street Sweeper late game or for special fights, or a Morningstar III: Fire in the Hole main hand, Sungrazer or Keeper of the Flame or Sun and Moon IV: Flail or Club mainhand (depends on party), Lethandria's Devotion offhand shield Suggested gear: Helm of the White Void Swift Hunter's Garb enchanted with dex resistance, or Spider Silk Robe Playstyle: basically you fill all sorts of roles, and you are costantly switching weapon slots as the party needs it. basically impossible to AI script effectively, so you better love micromanaging . i highly recomend that you have an easy-to-remember hotkey for switching weapon sets. - You do some disruption and damage by either using Spreading Plague or Tanglefoot in combination with your various push effects (early on it's a handful of spells). Gives you some a minor amount of survivability assist by disrupting melee enemies, extremely effective if you can pair with a party member who can also hobble or immobilize (frees up your spell casts for more push). Use your Red Hand similarly so when you run out of spells. Clear Out also fills this push job in very well late game. - Use Woodskin and Lance for +2 PL uptime whenever you're casting. Make sure you have uptime on Tactical Barrage as well. With blackjacket it's extremely painless to switch out of Lance if you need to shoot someone or if you need to provide some sustain with Lethandria's Devotion or need to debuff enemies with modals, and switch back to Lance for more spellcasts. - use Out of the Fire to save party members from danger, you can also target yourself to escape enemy engagement. Generally not worth the 2 resources to try it on an enemy until your accuracy is really high vs enemy reflex (missing on this feels real bad, very expensive and you probably needed this to save someone's skin) - switch to your shield weapon slot if you need to stop an enemy from engaging a squishier party member. after you lock an enemy down you can generally switch away and they'll stay on you, i like switching to the Red Hand (when the enemy isn't about to make an attack) so I can then push them repeatedly. - The Moon's Light and Cleansing Wind are good heal spells. Make sure you have +PL (tactical barrage, probably lance). Cleansing Wind is a little ornery around altitude changes and obstacles, so be warned. Supplement by switching to your shield slot if you need more sustain. - Higher level, switch to your blunderbuss weapon slot to do Clear Out, yet another push source (make sure blunderbuss modal is on). Sometimes you'll just wreck enemies if enemy density is high enough. Easy to spam if needed. Switch away to a different eapon slot once enemy density is low. I pair with either Sungrazer or Keeper of the Falme for extra aoe impact, but an alternate is Sun and Moon for bonus PL when you get rid of Lance (see below). - Late game, I give the Lance to another caster (they can still get PL from Woodskin) and I switch to Street Sweeper because of increasing need to clear enemy buffs. Also provides nice deflection bonus you can switch in and out of easily (again, Blackjacket is fun here). Depending on party need, you can instead use a morningstar here for switching into fortitude debuffs. - With your shield prefer a flail or club depending on party need. My party makes great use of a flail because i have a cipher who loves beams, so I use a flail. - conjure blight is a bit underrated (community patch makes them more generally usable if you're up for modding). early game the lesser and normal blights are a good way to waste enemy resources and time (toss the blights next to casters or rogue archers to soak up their spells or blinding/finishing blow attacks) and can also help run interference for squishy foes. greater blight later game actually comes with some handy abilities (most of the time) - e.g. sand blights can blind, ice blights can debuff enemy action speed by -40% in a huge part-friendly area, storm blights can swift your entire party while sickening enemies. greater blights are useful enough that even when you get lashing vine, i don't recommend respeccing out of greater blights. - free druid spells work great when other stuff doesn't work, and is why i pick an animist despite lack of other bonuses. against sickness-immune, replace spreading plague w/ returning storm casts. if you don't need the healing, you can drop a plague of insects. if you already have a summon up, drop some sunlances. against frost/push-immunes or dense enemy packs drop a sunbeam. - early game cat form is a nice way to assist with dps. mid-late game i just use cat form for when i need the action speed boost, your normal weapon capability will be a lot stronger for when you need it (most of the time). - i choose stealth as an early skill because stayin stealthed while you buff up and summon blights and then open with a spell cast works real well. significant diminishing returns, hence why i don't go all the way with stealth (and you can't be stealthed for scripted or other fights). - i choose alchemy because this character doesn't need more demands on action economy and with alchemy you can shift some of the action economy needs to outside of combat. Coral drugs for bonus action speed, or Taru Taru Chew for some bonus action speed (+3 dex) but also better healing/offense (+3 might). Early on I use some other potions at the start of a fight (being stealthed makes it easier to do this), later on once alchemy score gets higher and you have conqueror stance i instead supplement drug use with poison. Poison is easier to use when you get two shots/reload from Red Hand, have +20 acc to the weapon attack from arquebus, Conqueror Stance gives you +10 acc to the poison, and Tactical Barrage gives you +1 PL to poison (ordinarily very hard to scale up). Spider Silk Robe suggested as a possible gear choice as a late game way to boost poisons. I always stock a poison that targets will and another that targets fortitude and pay attention to the defenses of whatever target i'm attacking, which is generally either a caster that no one else can effectively dps down yet, or a really bullet-spongey guy in front that will actually be around long enough to suffer the effects of poison or needs to be hit with a powerful poison effect (like stone poison, or storm toxin). having a morningstar or a club can help with poison use, just make sure you don't apply the poison to your morningstar or club. interestingly, i used to stock heal potions on this character, but it turned out i never used them. even with the blackjacket's weaker fighter recovery, by not being a melee tank or not even a full-time off tank (just an occasional one), that drip of healing tends to be wildly sufficient for most purposes, and you can always switch to your shield slot for more defense and sustain. (even without weapon and shield style, lethandria's devotion being a medium shield gives you quite a bit of resilience against especially weapon-based enemies) anyway, this build isn't going to go solo any fights, but has turned out to be a real effective glue for a party. blackjackets are an extremely fun class to try to squeeze into a party or multiclass. having no cost to switch weapon sets enables a lot of neat tricks (not mentioned here: an incredible cheese opportunity with lethandria's devotion, which i'm deliberately not using)3 points

Corrected save file location for the public beta (You should no longer need to move save files into a _Local_ directory for them to show up correctly). Fixed an issue that prevented POE1 saves from being imported to POE2 after the last patch. If you possess a save game that could not be imported, loading and re-saving should correct the issue. Fixed an issue that caused some users to receive DLC content and/or backer items without having proper access to them. If you possess a save game that will not load on 3.7.1.1411 or later, due to it being created with DLC you did not purchase, please send us a support ticket along with your GOG or Steam username and a copy of a save game that has the issue (if multiple saves are affected, you only need to send 1 so we can verify). This issue did not affect users on Game Pass or Epic. Removed duplicate unused asset bundle files that artificially increased installation size. Navigation: Fixed areas that could not be navigated in numerous scenes. The lake in Cayron's Scar should no longer be unintentionally traversable when submerged. Fixed some cases where NPCs would become stuck when pathing during cutscenes. Fixed some cases where NPCs would walk or run in place during cutscenes. Fixed a handful of doors throughout various scenes that could be walked through due to lacking proper collision. Visual and Audio: Fixed multiple cases where characters might T-Pose briefly at the beginning of a cutscene. Fixed an issue where paperdolls in character creation and inventory screens might appear blurry. Overwhelming Wave should more reliably play its visual effects. Fixed VFX issues with the Woodskin spell rotating or attaching incorrectly. Symbols western chamber of Lle a Rhemen should now properly light up when expected. Unstrung Bow’s visuals will now properly appear on the ground when discovered. Soul Whip VFX are no longer lost on save/load or transitions. Penetrating Shot, Vulnerable Attack, Savage Attack, and similar VFX should no longer be lost on save/load or transitions. Released soul VFX in Sun in Shadow should now display correctly. Potion of Fleet Feet now properly plays a drinking animation. Reading from scrolls and rites will now position the scroll correctly in the reader’s hands. Fixed an issue that would cause water VFX to display improperly in certain areas. Fixed an issue where spoken dialogue was being unintentionally affected by reverberation. Quests and Dialogue: Ready the Cannons side quest should now properly update its objectives. Dialogue from Buried Secrets quest should no longer allow the player to demand their payment more than once. Fixed an issue where multiple barked lines in Gilded Vale could overlap excessively. Fixed an issue where Eder’s bark lines in the Temple of Eothas may end abruptly. Fixed a case where Calisca could trigger the wrong bark line near the camp inside Cilant Lîs. Fixed bark lines in Defiance Bay cutting short after their first line. Crag Ogres in Flames-That-Whisper Cavern should now more reliably play their banter on approach. Prisoners in Icantha’s house should no longer respawn in certain cases after save/load. Combat and Mechanics: Earth Blights should no longer sometimes detach from their selection circles when dominated. Scroll of Ray of Fire should now appear correctly and more accurately match the behavior of the Ray of Fire spell. Fixed a case where manually resolving stronghold combat could sometimes yield no rewards. Fixed a case where prone characters might try to move while prone, resulting in sliding behavior. Concelhaut’s Draining Missiles should no longer occasionally show 0.0 damage in the combat log. Weapon Specialization: Peasant should now reliably add its damage to unarmed attacks. Fixed some cases where the Halt spell might confuse enemy AI, causing them to repeatedly interrupt and re-attempt their own actions. Removed errant untargetable Xaurip that could sometimes appear in Dyrford Crossing. Fixed a case where Sleafhota might teleport to an alternate location mid-dialogue before attacking the player. Attacking Osrya directly will now reliably engage with her revenant and skeleton minions. Fixed a case where all survival camping bonuses might appear after spending only a single skill rank on Survival. One-Eyed Molina’s Gold-Fingered Spike-Flinger’s last two soulbound upgrades now increase Reload Speed instead of decreasing it. Deadfire Pack’s soulbound weapons now have the Universal weapon group. Fixed an issue with status effects from old saves duplicating when loaded on newer builds. Battle-Forged Godlike racial ability should no longer trigger a hit on the owner when non-hostile abilities are used (E.g. Second Wind). Caedebald’s Blackbow and Llengrath’s Blunt Wisdom are now of the universal weapon type. Stalker’s Torc item should now apply and display its effects correctly. Psychic and Brutal Backlash now correctly respect their per encounter rules. St. Ydwen’s Redeemer no longer displays “Destroys Vessels” activations in the combat log when not fighting a vessel. Scroll of Minoletta’s Minor Missiles will now better match the effects of the origin spell. User Interface and Interaction: Fixed a UI issue where chants could sometimes clip beyond their scrolling frame. Fixed a case where the damage type icon on the character sheet might not position correctly. Fixed some cases where assigning companions to multiple stronghold missions at once might cause UI issues. Quick loading with the crafting or enchanting UI open should no longer result in a permanent black screen. Fixed a typo in the description of Animal Companions. Fixed an issue where highlighting certain parts of a defeated enemy would not allow you to loot them. Doors in some scenes that were difficult to interact with have had their collision revised and should now be more reliable. Fixed a case where the final pressure plate in the Temple of Woedica would not appear. Examining the wall trophy inside of Elm’s Reach should now be possible. Skipping intros when first starting the client should now be more responsive. Fixed accuracy tooltips not appearing on the character sheet. Interactable tree in the Abbey of the Fallen Moon now can be interacted with properly. Fixed a bug preventing interactable highlights from appearing after opening the map. Fixed an issue that caused tooltips to sometimes shake in the UI. Fixed incorrect version numbers across different platforms. They should all match now and increment correctly. Known Issues: Some users have reported crashing on 32-bit operating systems. While 32-bit operating systems fall below our minimum requirements, users that had better luck on 3.4.0.1318 will find a Legacy branch available Steam/GOG which may yield better results. Some users on GOG have reported a black screen on startup. This is being investigated, but disabling the Galaxy overlay appears to be a temporary solution. This update is currently unavailable for OSX & Linux. We are investigating bringing these platforms up to speed as part of a future patch. The feedback from the community surrounding this release has been wonderful. Thank you all for the continued support!2 points

Greetings! To anyone having difficulties finding the public beta, our apologies for not specifying - the beta branch does not yet support Mac/Linux, this is something we're investigating. Sorry for the confusion, I'll keep you posted if we make progress on this front. Also, for comments on One-Eyed Molina's Gold-Fingered Spike-Flinger and other Deadfire pack soulbound weapon groups, I'll make sure we correct that for the next build of this patch. Thanks for the support on this one. For answers to other questions, see below! @Mraicor One trap per character and/or trap talents. This is a little outside the scope for this patch, but there's definitely a community desire for better trap archetype support and it's not outside of possibility for a future patch. I'll track this and put it to consideration. Thanks for calling attention to it! I'll also make sure each of the other issues you reported are tracked and investigated as well (Korgrak, The Old Watcher, Deadfire items (mentioned above)). Thanks for the support! @Kvellen Output logs should exist at - [Your LocalDrive]\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Pillars of Eternity\PillarsOfEternity_Data\output_log @Space-Cadet No PC controller support at this time. Though, if the opportunity presents itself, it's something I'd like to investigate in the future. @DicesMuse This patch is focused on PC at this time. @Macklin I'll have to investigate the missing commentary tracks, if we have access to them we may be able to restore them in the future. Thanks for calling attention to the issue. @beger Thank you for the support. We've tracked the text size discrepancy and will investigate. @Cerebro83 We've tracked the VFX issue with the Cinders of Fate quest, thanks for your support! @VerNOX We would like to investigate all mods that provide fixes to known issues of the game to ideally incorporate them. Though please bear with us as we work to catch them all. In the meantime, you may wish to use mods for any we have yet to address. Also, thank you for reporting the high-resolution sharpness issue, I'll make sure we investigate this as well. @kronozord The public beta is on Steam only, but when the patch goes live Epic & GoG is expected to be included in the update. Also, this patch has no relation to Avowed, we simply love all of our games and the fans that play them and have an opportunity to make some improvements for everyone involved. @sirrus233 I'll put the suggestion for the original title screen in our database, it would be nice to see again. @Mister_Nobody We'll need to investigate this issue further; do you happen to have a save game you could provide to our support team? If so, we might be able to track down the root cause more easily. If not, we'll do our best to reproduce it on our end with the info you provided. Either way, thanks for letting us know! @Silvaren Thanks for reporting the athletics issue, I'll make sure it's tracked and investigated. @Nightwing32 I'll get the lack of mercy option tracked and investigated. Thanks! @davoker I'll make sure we investigate these issues, especially Psychic and Brutal Backlash. Thanks! @Chaospread I mentioned One-Eyed Molina above, but thanks for also reporting the inconsistency with Korgrak as well. I'll make sure this is tracked. Thanks! @warralek We plan to give the patch a healthy runway to make sure there are no big issues from the engine upgrade, during this time we may update the build version on the public beta once or twice before going live. There's no set timeline for how long that will be, but if we don't see many new issues, or we've resolved most of them, we'll wrap it up and investigate other issues. Thanks everyone for your participation in this beta, your feedback, and your dedication to the game. EDIT** - Also for those that are concerned about your favorite mods that may become invalidated on Steam after the patch goes live, we are investigating moving the current live version to a legacy branch when the new patch goes live. This should allow those that wish to continue their existing playthrough with their current mods to do so. And will give some runway for any popular mods to be updated down the line. More on this as we get closer to release.2 points

Would it also be possible to investigate why the mercy option for the sky dragon fight never seems to initiate? From my understanding its supposed to trigger when it reaches low health and the option is even in the custom history for poe2.2 points

I turned 32. Maybe it's eating (marginally) better or exercising or reducing the intake of certain substances but I feel and look better than I did back in covid year 1. Huh.2 points

Yes! Pillars of Eternity!! Very minor thing, but while we're aggregating a wishlist... would it be possible to add a title screen selection drop-down to the game options? Something to let us choose between the original title screen and the updated one from White March? The White March one is cool, but I like the original.2 points

Technically Sweden and Russia share maritime border in international waters, meaning that Russian troops can go from Kaliningrad to Sweden without crossing any Nato nation's land, waters or airspace. Also there is international waters from Saint Petersburg to Sweden and also from Atlantic ocean to western side of southern Sweden.1 point

As a Pole, I can tell you Sweden whooped up on my motherland several times too. Looooooong before my lifetime, though, so I harbour no ill feelings. In fact, I harbour no ill feeling for the common folk of any country, Russia included. The ruling elite, on the other hand, that's a different story. Granted, I'm not exactly a fan of the ruling elite in Murica either (on the off chance I haven't previously made that perfectly clear), so there's that.1 point

They're trying to drum up support for people to join the army and be less pissed off about the reinstated mandatory conscription. Not that I think they will have any real luck to get people to join the army, especially after sucking dicktators. It didn't end particularly well when the army told people to agree to contract that allows service on foreign ground to run the US errands in Afghanistan.1 point

highly recommend the following: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLC122061BDC373B4B not all in the playlist is win, but is fantastic production at work and the pop song covers which typical leave us flaccid is intriguing to us precise 'cause o' masterful contributions o' artists whose instruments and voices go largely unheard by Gromnir in his everyday music selections.... and 'cause is so many cameo contributions from giants o' music. HA! Good Fun!1 point

yeah, that aligns with our earlier observation, though am most definite not a pro cook or chef. the reason why am disappointed when family or friends ask us to cook well-done is cause doing so makes cut/grade choice and skill o' the preparer largely irrelevant. those prime cut ribeyes is wasted on cousin bobby (much like from goodfellas, all our east coast male relatives has names which end in a hard "e" sound--paulie, bobby tommy, etc.) who asks for well done. coulda' given him a select grade chuck steak and grill it to death and it would taste same as our careful prepared ribeye. in fact, chuck on the grill might taste better well done than our pan sear and infrared broiler efforts. at least the grill might add a smokey flavour to the meat. HA! Good Fun!1 point

One last note on the steak thing. A good chunk of the people I served in the military with ended up going into food services and they all told me that by ordering your steak well done you're actually more likely to get a subpar cut of meat because you can cover up most of the sketchiness by cooking the hell out of it. Last night I made p'sghetti with some jarred sauce that had porcini mushrooms that I punched up with sweet Italian sausage, tomato paste, spices, and pasta water. Tonight is leftovers.1 point

Made some casserole type thing to consume leftover macaroni, cheddar and I got ground beef on sale so might as well use that. Turned out ok, family liked it. Which is good as they're eating that for the next 5 days. Lacking vegetables though.1 point

actually, is multiple becauses. yeah, we mentioned the sauce in your pictured steak appeared to be ketchup, but perhaps a year latter when we shared an atk video, you brought up the ketchup on steak guy all by your lonesome. have personal shared the dirty harry clip regarding ketchup on hot dogs a couple times. the curious fascination o' scandanavains with ketchup has occurred multiple times on this board, usual with @Azdeustaking a few well earned shots regarding what foods is so not improved by ketchup and resulting in numerous tangential ketchup observations-- we did share our personal and labor-intensive ketchup recipe. collectively we can be a bit predictable at times. HA! Good Fun!1 point

Oh, right, for a moment I thought that was because I posted a picture of a t-bone steak with sauce tartare and ketchup a while back, but you're talking about that little incident in the reading thread where Hurlshot and xzar_monty had the same conversation ten posts apart. I am not dogmatically opposed to ketchup either (and I certainly ate the ketchup that my steak came with ), just as long as we draw the line at slathering pizza and pasta with it. As far as food heresy goes, I like eating fries with lingonberry jam. I also don't hate pizza with pineapple and ham, but I do not particularily like it either, but that is me not liking ham on pizza, not being opposed to pinapple. Speaking of pineapple, injecting pineapple juice into meat is one of the easiest ways to tenderize it. It works wonders for duck and goose. Heinz - and I do not know if what we can buy as Heinz ketchup is anything close to the ketchup sold in the US - is easily my least favorite of the store bought ketchups. Now would be the time for @Azdeus to come in here and tell us that he does not like Felix, which is my personal preference, and then we would be done with the third time talking about ketchup in the food threads that I can recall. Ideally that does not come to pass, lest he shows up and posts images of his food again. I mean, that is basically the only thing the we ever agreed upon that was vile.1 point

Trump eats well-done steaks with ketchup I've seen it but I grew up super poor and rural. Almost all of my family still orders steaks well done, which is why I'll never make them steaks or take them to a steakhouse. I still remember the first time I was brave enough to order a medium steak at a family dinner outing, they all looked at me like I just committed some unspeakable crime but I was the only one that didn't require a sauce to put some moisture back in. Never looked back and now I usually get my steaks medium-rare to medium. My personal preference is closer to KPs, most I'll usually do is a pan sauce. I asked my family why they do this to their steaks and it mostly stems from a fear of getting food poisoning by being given some bad meat. This might make sense for the older generations that lived through segregation while eating out but makes no sense for family cookouts because as I said we're very rural. Our meat is/was typically super freshly butchered. Habit maybe, I dunno. I don't understand it because it's not like they really enjoy a dry steak.1 point

gonna trigger @majestic with the ketchup redux. kinda groundhog day material. in the US, almost all ketchup is a variation o' heinz tomato ketchup. when folks not in the US talk about ketchup, they may be referencing something which is a fair bit different than what an american would expect. regardless, we personal embrace the chicagoan/dirty harry dogma regarding ketchup and hot dogs-- is no less verboten than ketchup on steak. as for dipping... cheese is always win. @Gorth has his remoulade, and if am doing cajun/creole am likely gonna think remoulade is appropriate. real mayonnaise, which is different than any shelf stable brand available in the US, is kinda tasty and quite customizable. we do like carolina gold, but am almost never making it... which is kinda weird. am not a fan o' over sweet, but for asian dishes we like peanut sauces and a honey sriracha which is maybe less sweet and a bit heavier on the ginger than is traditional. is all knida gravy variations-- poutine got a mention in this thread not long past. is a whole lotta pan sauces which is technical gravy. maybe a cheap response, but best is gonna depend on what am dipping. fries? ketchup, cheese, gravy-- 's all good. ask us on a tuesday as 'posed to a friday and maybe you get a different answer as to what we most want with our fries. HA! Good Fun!1 point

we mentioned earlier how broken builds is an owlcat thing and they clear indulge the powergamer impulses o' their fanbase with the 40k title. pathfinder, particular with all the splat book material, allows for broken, but human dm/gm near always prevents such behaviour in rl-- makes campaigns and gaming sessions boring when one or more players is able to destroy every encounter without any effort. owlcat took potential busted pathfinder and then added their own take on mythic content which leads to stoopid busted builds, particular when combined with stoopid busted gear. curious, owlcat fans like busted and defend it. is nothing wrong with liking busted, but am personal thinking such diminishes the value o' having many character development and gear options when there is clear a handful o' best/right options. even so, is no shock busted builds is a thing for rogue trader 'cause that is exact what many owlcat fans want/expect. am also having observed how the challenge o' owlcat encounters would appear to be premised on players embracing broken content. normal difficulties in owlcat games is frustrating challenging unless you embrace broken. not all encounters will be frustrating difficult for a more casual or role-play oriented player, but there will be enough such obstacle battles as to discourage players less focused on exploitive gameplay. we chose to play an officer for our first rogue trader run. we chose officer not 'cause it is our favorite build concept but 'cause we expected there to be threshold encounters in the game which would make the game decided unfun if we didn't have a powerful character/party. the owlcat approach is kinda odd from our pov. crpgs rely on maths which invariably lead to exploits being discovered by gamers no matter how hard a developer trys to balance a title. am s'posing the difference is that in a more balanced game there will be a handful o' exploits whereas owlcat offers players more choice... maybe? regardless, owlcat's rogue trader exploit or fail approach comes as little surprise to us. as for bugs... there is a reason why we rare play a title until six months has passed following release. particular for complex crpgs, there is always gonna be broken content both obvious and subtle. am thinking owlcat has actually improved insofar as the stability and quest integrity o' their titles at release, so credit where credit is due. however, we expected later game quests (content not available in the beta) would be problematic and am suspecting it will be a couple years before the vast majority o' minor and major mechanics bugs in rogue trader is fixed. am not making excuses for owlcat, but their design approach which promotes broken builds and the bugginess o' rogue trader is predictable and were expected based on previous owlcat releases. not exact caveat emptor, but... and again, our personal rogue trader experience is more stable than we expected. yeah, the mechanics bugs is legion, but am genuine pleasant surprised by how few broken quests we has suffered given the fact the game is an owlcat title. 'course we only just finished chapter 2. regardless am thinking is fair to say, based on our admitted limited rogue trader experience, that each owlcat release has improved quest integrity and stability issues at release. progress? HA! Good Fun!1 point

May I ask for fixes to the Deadfire Pack items? Known issues from the top of my head: * None of the Soulbound items are coded as Weapon Type: Universal; * One-Eyed Molina's Gold-Fingered Spike Flicker receives an attack speed malus instead of bonus as the soulbound levels progress; * Texture paths for the male crewmember uniforms are broken and they appear discolored. The last two are already fixed via mods on the Nexus and it seems that addressing the issue is not that hard at all.1 point

I am actually in the middle of a Rogue PoE playthrough and enjoying it. Except for Traps - the accuracy is all bugged. Trap damage to your party is 10-20x the trap damage to mobs. That just doesn't compute. Also, that crossbow One-Eyed Molina's Gold-Fingered Spike-Flinger is bugged. It gives an attack speed and reload speed penalty instead of a boost! Hopefully, this should be easy to fix ?1 point

Hey folks, It's great to see so many familiar faces, and new ones too! Right now we're taking a lot of caution to make sure the game is stable with the unity engine update and we aren't introducing any major new issues. However, I'll make sure we investigate both the trap potency and the cursor flickering issues as well. It'll be great fix up some of those long-time nuisances. (and a few others too!) @callistege - Yes, you should be able to continue your current play-through on the public beta branch. However, please note that the branch is a newer version of the game, and we tend to restrict loading newer saves on older versions, so any save games you make on the public beta won't be valid on the Release branch until the new patch goes live. Thanks everyone for your support, and if you happen to find anything else you'd like to report feel free to pass them along and we'll do our best to track and work through them!1 point

Best beginner classes are Paladin, Fighter, Ranger and Monk. All of them have good starting values, are front loaded and aren't squishy. I personally like the Monk class best but it has the most "complicated" mechanics of those four. The easiest to start with might be the fighter. Barbarian is another favorite of mine but it's incredibly squishy in the early game due to the abysmal deflection defense - while hitting a barn door at best. It needs some levels to get going (and become lots of fun) and thus isn't great for beginners imo.1 point

please please please please please please please please please please please please fix traps before you close the book on this patch (who knows if we get another) it is probably the single biggest mechanically broken thing in the game: do this and i'll send a hand-written letter of effusive thanks to the obsidian dev team1 point

Speaking of oppressed Russian-speaking locals, the ever-whiny Russian embassy set up a service for Russians in Finland to report on all the ways they are being mistreated and oppressed here. This was a particularly low move, even for the Russian embassy, although it was probably to be expected in the current circumstances. Let us just say that it not go down all that well: the service did receive an awful lot of feedback, that's for sure, but I would estimate that a lot more than 99.9% was automatically generated and not exactly what they were looking for. Someone, perhaps even anyone, might have guessed that this was precisely what was going to happen, but apparently the Russian embassy did not, because it was, shall we say, upset. No surprises there, either.1 point

We still talking about Latvia here? Because AFAIK nobody oppresses Russian-speaking locals there. Unless "Learn the language of the country you live in order to maybe get a better job" counts, and no, that thousand that media says might be kicked out, is very unlikely local. Also your last sentence is pointlessly long. "Break up russia --> Yes please!" is sufficient.1 point
