  1. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-66712589 Well, the Proud Boys leadership is all locked up now. Of course if Trump wins, I'm guessing they all get pardoned. I'm having a hard time drumming up sympathy for these guys that basically market and profit off hatred and lies. They sold a narrative on overthrowing the government in the name of patriotism, and then are surprised when they get sentence for treason.

  4. 'Give me the damage...and give it to me RAW' Hi guys, sorry about bad English firstly. Not much action on forum lately but i wanted to share this build anyways. Because its not a much preferred multiclass, on the paper has no sinergy whatsoever but when i play this was FAR the most powerful and fun build. And its noob friendly. Ok on druid side we have crazy powerful aoe damages and on cipher side we re deadly against single target bosses. We have a weapon for every situation, crowd control, debuffs, buffs, single target healing, aoe healing, everything..I assume you install community patch and i ll make my comments in that version, but this will be powerful even without it. Beguiler is a very good subclass, you debuffs enemies and gain focus while you do it and it has no negative impact, with +4 power level we ll have with this build a single phantom foes cast will fill our focus full. Ancient: +1 power level with our most damaging spells is very good. Summon sporelings is a good distract early game. Race: Nature Godlike, we re gonna stack + power levels so its a good choice +2 all stats berath blessings is kinda must we re stat hungry Might: 20 - we ll have very high damaging spells so we want this at max Constitution: 10 Dexterity: 10 - we will wear leather armor and %20 action speed from captains banquet %10 speed from rapid casting will be sufficent Perception: 20 we don't wanna miss and we don't wanna graze, we should get all the accuracy bonuses as possible Intelligence: 20 Resolve: 10 Captains banquet should be always active %20 damage for spells and %20 action speed is massive, and also we ll be immune to mind afflications. Items Weapon slot 1: https://pillarsofeternity.fandom.com/wiki/Lance_of_the_Midwood_Stag The upgrade lord of the forest will be activated from our form of the delemgan spell, its a very good spell anyways and it will give us +2 power levels with cipher and druid spells. slot 2: https://pillarsofeternity.fandom.com/wiki/Essence_Interrupter In some fights we can struggle to harvest focus with our beguiler spells, you should use this weapon when it happens. Also you can get friendly summons with the upgrade from crit hitted enemies, summons are always welcome. Armor: https://pillarsofeternity.fandom.com/wiki/Aloth's_Leather_Armor_(Deadfire)#:~:text=Aloth's leather armor has been, tailored in the Aedyran style. %15 aoe effect is huge and it has very good defensive enchantments and low recovery. We look kinda ugly in that armor though but what can you do... Glove: https://pillarsofeternity.fandom.com/wiki/Gauntlets_of_Accuracy_(Deadfire) +3 accuracy, very simple but useful all game. Boots: https://pillarsofeternity.fandom.com/wiki/Boots_of_the_Stone some stats and resistance to might afflications, very nice. Rings: https://pillarsofeternity.fandom.com/wiki/Kuaru's_Prize https://pillarsofeternity.fandom.com/wiki/Ring_of_Overseeing_(Deadfire) Cloak: https://pillarsofeternity.fandom.com/wiki/Cloak_of_Greater_Deflection Amulet: https://pillarsofeternity.fandom.com/wiki/Charm_of_Bones +2 intellect and +5 accuracy against vessels which are very common enemies Abilities: Power level 1: Eyestrike: aoe blind for 10 focus which we get more focus back when we cast is op. Summon sporelings(auto): this is very powerful especially early game, i rarely use it after some levels though. Talon's reach: this is a hidden gem, with +5 power levels you ll deal around 80-100 damage late game in huge aoe. A fine finisher. Lingering Echoes: more duration for our afflications, works with druid spells too(it doesnt show up when you click on it but it works) Iron will: +15 will for 1 ability points, you never know you have to be protected against that nasty arcane dampener. Power level 2: Draining whip Phantom foes: this make everyone flanked in huge are which is not particularly powerful but we ll get huge focus back, most of the time max our focus. Insect swarm: a huge raw dot, but small aoe. Removes concentration. Most important its works against everyone even against undeads. Recall agony: its a %30 lash overtime. You will rarely use this against the bosses. But man it is very powerful. Power level 3: Secret horrors: a frightened enemy is a no threat anymore, and we usually get more focus than its costs. Sickened also useful for our spells that target fortitude. Nature's balm: aoe robust for our party, not bad. Bears fortitude, bulls will and snakes reflexes: we should work on our defenses even we re not close to the frontlines. Power level 4: Form of the delemgan(auto): its a very powerful defensive buff and activate lord of the forest for +2 power level. This should be our first cast every fight. Heart of the storm: this will give + 1 penetration for relentless storm and essence interrupter. Body attunement: this is -3 Armor with community patch, situational but useful. Especially where you want to gain focus with the bow, against high armor bosses. Power level 5 aka god level: Borrowed instinct: maan its gives us +20 accuracy and +20 all the defenses. Also -8 intellect and perception to the enemy? Yeah this is the best spell in the game. Plague of the insects: This spell cover all the map, aoe raw damage, BUT doesnt works against poison immune enemies, which is very common. Removes concentration. Relentless Storm: Stunlock all the map, even they have resistance aoe daze is very powerful too. Does decent damage. Embrace of the earth talon: a hidden gem, i mostly use this against poison immune enemies, where we cant use plague of the insects. Rapid casting Power level 6: Disintegration: This is a death sentence: make sure you have borrowed instincts active and debuffed the fortitude of the enemy. 90 damage per tick on hit. Yeah good times... The empty soul: +10 accuracy with will targeting cipher spells. Yeah good one. Venombloom(auto): weakened is very powerful and it does ok raw damage with all our bonuses. But it has like no range and dont work against poison immune enemies, i rarely cast this tbh. Farcasting: very useful actually, we dont wanna get too close to the frontlines. Power level 7: this level is kinda weak Ancestor's memory: very useful in long fights, especially for our priest i ll explain why The complete self: we will crit a lot and every +focus is welcome. Companions: i suggest you to sell your soul to the Valian company in this run and take Pallegina with you. Give her https://pillarsofeternity.fandom.com/wiki/The_Willbreaker -25 fortitude modal is a must in boss fights for disintegrate. Also her summons is a distraction we need. And use old siec chant and become immortal(gives healing with damaging spells too) We also need a priest for 2 key spells: Litany for the spirits: +1 power level and +5 intelligence is a must. Champions boon gives +5 might +2 penetration and activates nature godlike racial. You can use scripts to cast them auto. In long fights use ancestors memory for recast, because they re both level 5 spells. And thats it! the Abomination destroys every enemy in every situations. Physically and mentally.

  5. I don't know if you can fly into the atmosphere, but you can fly around space and dock with stations and other ships. I think it is just that everything is so far apart, they decided to make it easy to skip around via fast travel instead. I guess I should try to fly around in the atmosphere, but I've mostly been just running around everywhere. I could use a rover in this game too.

  6. Needed a break from BG3, so I fired up Enter the Gungeon. Did a Rainbow Run with the Robot, and a couple of regular Gunslinger runs. Still missing the co-op unlocks for the Finished Gun. Probably will never get those.

  7. Don't worry, Bethesda is probably going to release the game on every device with a display at some point in the future. You can get the 1st, 5th, 10th and probably 15th anniversary edition on your next smart-fridge for only $ 99.99 in the next years, with upcoming releases on the Playstation 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11 as well as XBOX SERIES Y, Z, AA, AB, AC, AD, AE and the Nintendo Switch 2, 3, 4 and 5. There's bound to be a sale coming at some point. Or you can just sub to Gamepass for a month or so.

  8. Dyes are weird. The blue tones in my main character are "Ocean Green": Karlach's clothes didn't change much with dyes. The ones I tested only gave different tones of brown/gray. And I don't even remember which one I used for Shadowheart's gold striped armor. I tried repainting it but couldn't find the same dye again. Gale is barefoot because I gave his boots to an npc. I wanted to see if there was a reward and forgot he was using them.

  9. How would you describe the writing style (in whatever translation language you read )? In novels that's one of the biggest things for me. There are many well known/famous/revered sci-fi books I have either never read or didn't get past a few chapters because I disliked the writing style or already knew I didn't like the author's style. I never read the other book you mention, but I did see the movie, and it was terrible (as a movie - the base story behind it might've been ok, I forget), haha. I'm still liking the C-series version of Three Body so far (I'm on #5 now) however. It's a bit odd because I don't think the plot - what they're revealing/I'm understanding so far - enraptures me at all that much. It's more the visual/auditory mood. Or something. So it may end up being the opposite where I like a visual interpretation but would not like the original printed work. Being a C-series however, it would not surprise if by the end I will at least think "it should have been 4, 6, 8, episodes shorter."

  10. Eh, it’s on GamePass so I will give it a go. If I get bored with it after an evening or two, at least I won’t spend on it £20plus like I did with Skyrim.

  11. For the record, I am not and will not be playing Starfield. From everything I have seen, heard and read, it is just another Bethesda game. A tedious, shallow, badly written sandbox(ish) game with very sub-par technical aspects to make your own fun in, except this time large parts of it were intentionally made boring to boot, as per the developers' own admission. Already played the same game well over two decades ago and found it wanting. Hard pass. Better? Imagine what I could say about it if I got to play it, but unless someone wants to buy me a copy I am not going to. I could do more useful things with the money, like setting it on fire or throwing it out the window.

  12. Ok, fair enough then! In any case, it's a common phrase these days, generally used in ways and contexts not exactly conducive to gaining more proper information. Check this out, for reference: https://thinkingispower.com/the-problem-with-doing-your-own-research/

  13. Well, I watched three episodes of Three Body so far. I checked and the subtitles on Tencent's YT vs. Viki are exactly the same, at least 1st episode. But I liked the formatting/pacing of Viki's subtitles more. So far I find the show quite fascinating. It's kind of surreal, kind of physics-speak tech (but not really?), I'm not entirely sure what's going on yet but it's doing a good job of making me want to know. Visually it's better than I expected. Nice imagery, scene framing, pulls me in. Haven't FFWD once. I think it's a keeper. I definitely need to buy the books.

  14. I'm not sure if you're aware of it, but "do your own research" is a very unfortunate turn of phrase because it is generally used by conspiracy theorists and such, i.e. people who tend not to be able to do any kind of proper research and who have a tremendous confirmation bias and tend to confuse things like correlation and causation and may not be able to apply much logic to their thinking, either.

  15. has it? this specific situation is a bit unusual and am not sure how much pardons would benefit ivanka or trump jr even ignoring how trump has apparently thrown his progeny under the proverbial bus in recent depositions, which will no doubt make thanksgiving dinner at casa de trump especial fun this year. the ambiguous possibility o' pardons may be enough to convince 2024 white nationalist voters to keep faith with trump (as if they have another candidate choice,) without further antagonizing educated republican women and independents. actual pardons helps with white nationalists and ultra-alt right voters, but who else? a schrödinger pardon solidifies the trump base and gives other conservative leaning voters a chance to pretend as if trump wouldn't actual grant pardons. am just not seeing a real upside for actual pardons. even for the future political prospects o' trump spawn, actual pardons would seem to be an overall net loser. edit: am reminded o' just how improbable is trump. donald beat hillary to become President but both hillary and trump were historical unpopular and trump has lost the popular vote 2x. trump even managed to lose the electoral and popular vote to joe freaking biden. the electoral college process o' selecting the President were not intended to be democratic, so is hardly a surprise when a President isn't elected popular. even so, it took a long causal chain o' unlikely to transform a process intended to make a populist President nigh implausible so that what we got today is "the most disliked politician in all of America," running as a populist candidate and having a not 0% chance o' winning... again. HA! Good Fun!

  16. Planned and pushed for by Russia, absolutely, ever since 2014 and before. As Putin has long maintained, the collapse of the Soviet Union was the "greatest geopolitical disaster"[*] of the 20th century, and both Belarus and Ukraine are his attempts to bring the empire back. With Belarus, he has effectively succeeded, but with Ukraine, not. Hungary remains something of a mystery, at least to me. I wonder if anyone anywhere has a good answer that has been made public. [*] I would argue that it's quite obvious that the greatest geopolitical disaster of the 20th century was the formation of the Soviet Union. Very, very little good ever became of that, and nothing good at all compared to all the death and disaster it created. The EU, while "mostly harmless", to quote one D. Adams, is not geopolitically all that important, but it's not all that deadly, either.

  18. we don't follow ina garten... at all. however, at a cooking site we saw a link to an article where ina recommends store bought alternatives she always uses instead o' making from scratch. we saw pepperidge farm stuffing mix were included and figured we would give it a try. we were all set to find something to quibble 'bout regarding the dressing, but our post cooking concerns were extreme minor. the pepperidge farm stuffing mix is a bit salty but not excessive so-- am suggesting to avoid salted butter when preparing and make certain your chicken stock is low sodium... unless you like salty. proviso: we did not follow directions exact. after sautéing vegetables (we went a bit heavy on the celery and onion and next time would likely add mushrooms... maybe?) we added chicken stock and one egg yolk to the four cups o' stuffing mix and then cooked on the stovetop in a large skillet so we could better produce carbonized bits in the dressing. again, we tried to find complaints but is all minor. the bread cubes was small and we prefer a bit larger torn bread pieces. perhaps the dressing woulda' benefited from a smidge more thyme and sage? ordinarily our chicken/turkey dressing is a bit complex, but the pepperidge farm mix is easy and good. am doubting many posters make dressing frequent, but the ina suggestion is a time saver and results in a nice dressing which may easily be customized to suit individual tastes. aside, our new normal for making boneless and skinless chicken breasts is to buy those split and bone-in chicken breasts and then debone 'em our self. the resulting boneless-but-skin-on breast am finding is our ideal cooking option when am forced to prepare breasts. saw the method at atk. bonus: the leftover bones is great for making chicken stock. we pound the breasts flatish and then cook two-to-three salted/seasoned breasts skin side down in a large skillet. is becoming increasing difficult to find younger bird breasts here in california, so as often as not, even with a twelve inch skillet, am only able to fit two flattened breasts in the pan. once the chicken breasts are in a medium-high heat pan, we place a 5.5 qt. cast iron dutch oven on top o' the breasts, resulting in constant pressure and uniform pan contact. in our sooper-slick cast iron pan we need zero cooking oil as the skin renders enough fats to prevent any kinda sticking. with a stainless steel pan we require minimal oil. depending on thickness, we cook ~7.5 minutes before removing the dutch oven and flipping the chicken to cook reduced to medium for another seven-to-eight minutes. depending on the heat distribution o' your pan or hob, you may need rotate the chicken once-per-side so as to get even doneness. the skin helps keep the chicken moist and the pan leavings is perfect for gravy or any kinda chickeny pan sauce. if your dinner guest don't like skin, remove the offending organic matter after cooking, but pretty much all the fat from the skin is gonna have rendered out while cooking. HA! Good Fun!

  19. There's a DLSS2 by PureDark mod that came out shortly after the game launched. By all accounts I have read so far it works better than FSR in the game (same if not better performance, much better visuals), so if you have the hardware for it, do yourself a favor and get it (it does not break achievements). The DLSS2 version is free, the DLSS3 one is not, but frame generation does not work properly anyway as it leads to very visible artifacts. There are DLSS mods that were not made by PureDark that include frame generation, but those require Reshade, which you may not want to install and coud potentially lead to issues with game patches. I have also seen video footage where rendering at the native resolution leads to better performance than using the FSR upscaling in the game. #justBethesdathings

  21. It is because being a buzzkill and bringing people down is one of the few ways I can make my miserable existence more fun. The same reason I approach every competitive game I participate in with Conan in mind: "To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentations of their women." Every now and then I re-read the Galactic Starfighter forum thread dedicated to whinging about me playing the game. It just never gets old, although it appeared to get shorter in the meantime as posts have disappeared for some reason or were deleted the amount of posts per page were increased. I thought you would have figured that out by now. I do have been around for a bit, yes?

  22. As I hinted at earlier, the best part of the new main story, compared to other Bethesda games, is the lack artificial urgency or emotional attachment put into it. No rescuing a family member or stopping gates of Oblivion. There are no giants yelling at you to come visit them on a mountaintop. It's a pretty chill exploration vibe. Build a big base, customize a cool ship, and scan some plants.

  24. Alright, just finished AC6. As I suspected, the Sea Spider was the hardest boss in the game. Had to repeat a few of the later boss fights a few times as well, but not as extreme. Most of them I did in 2 or 3 attempts, only robot Malenia took me something around 10 maybe. All in all a good game, despite some annoyances. Kinda tempted to try NG+ now. Especially since I don't like the ending that I got. Oh, and since this is one of the few From Software games that I was actually able to completely finish, I'm guessing it's one of their easier titles.

  25. From everything I've found on what happened, the pro-Russian counter-protesters attacked the anti-Russian protesters then things escalated from there with 48 dead (46 pro-Russians). Not saying it's not a tragedy but that's hardly indicative of Ukraine trying to wipe out its Russian population, especially when there were Russians and Ukrainians on both sides of it. The way my in-laws described it was they burned down a building full of Russians just because, when the reports say the fighting ended up there after the anti-Russians rallied and destroyed their camp after the attack. They were shooting and throwing Molotov ****tails at each other and that is supposedly how the fire started, though which side exactly started the fire is debated in the sources I've seen. I don't know what the police were doing this whole time but there were reports they let the initial attacks happen and then just stood by. I'll see if I can find some non-Wiki links but I looked into this last year at some point so the details aren't all fresh in my mind. Also, I don't read Ukrainian or Russian so my wife was translating some of the articles for me, but before she did she was also very much what about that building they burned down, and that stopped immediately after she started looking into it, not that she ever thought the war was justified.

  27. I'd say that's a good description. It certainly shares many similarities given the use of raw egg yolks, romano cheese, and guanciale/pancetta/bacon. The zozzona has the added ingredients of onion and Italian sausage (I went with a hot Italian sausage which, combined with some red pepper flakes, gave the dish the perfect amount of spice), but there's nothing stopping you from adding onion and sausage to a carbonara.
