  1. Hey everyone! The latest version of the forums went live this morning around 8:15AM PT. Please let us know if you continue to have any issues now that we have rolled out all our fixes and we will look into what we can do to fix things for you Thanks again for your tremendous patience and assistance with these issues that arose over the holiday break

  2. It's no wonder the youth of today shoot up schools and throw themselves off bridges en masse - forget social alienation and the inability to form stable bonds and friendships, substance abuse/addiction, and the general mental health crisis, I'm pretty sure Sailor Moon Crystal is responsible for it all. When is infamous supercriminal Naoko Takeuchi going to be held responsible for her crimes?

  4. Yes indeed I forgot about quick switch between Outworn Buckler and Lethandria. I don't usually use it but it also works in BPM. No worries, it's a good question. I seem to remember @dgray62 had found other Priests of Skaen to steal spells from, easier than Beina or the Fampyrs. Maybe in Fort Deadlight, or in Crookspur, or in a slaver ship maybe? Am I dreaming this dgray62? I also remembered in the meantime that my beloved Crushing Doom can be stolen from Iverra and from Katrenn, no need to go mess with FS. EDIT: In the meantime I realized there should be a Skaenite Priest relatively easy in the Wāpau Jungle interaction! EDIT2... of course not, it only works if you have companions in tow..

  6. Just to be clear, the "mods" in the title of the NFL thread is specifying modifications and not moderators. I think that's very important information to discern, because...well, if you read it the other way, that would mean I was calling the moderators [corrupted text], and boy, I tell you, that is not at all what I meant, and I'd be real broken up about it if anybody interpreted it that way. Gee, I might even have to apologize. But the key thing is, I really don't think I should be left with the critical responsibility of deciding the NFL thread's title, that's...that's just too much for me, I crack under pressure and make terrible decisions! So I'd strongly recommend...oh, I don't know, Donald Trump? I think he'd be a good fit for the position, certainly much better than me.

  7. They all get their own stats, but they will copy your equipped weapons & shield and armor. I think Watery Double and the Living Illusions from the Shroud of the Phantasm behave the same. I think there was a trick where retaliation-on-death items worn by the caster (e.g. Mantle of the Seven Bolt) would carry over the effect on the clones upon their death, but not sure right now.

  8. Cipher/ranger is nice too, as you can get the highest possible accuracy without cheese with this combo. Ascendant/ghostheart is great if you want to go ranged and cast tons of spells. Arcana archer is good too if you use a mod to fix the lack of scaling for the subclass' abilities in the vanilla game. But as it seems that you want to go melee, I'd strongly recommend soul blade/stalker with a bear animal companion. The combo's nice since stalker makes you both more sturdy, and you have lots of buffs for your AC.

  9. In Fort Deadlight there are several skaenite celebrants. They can be found in the gang of thugs who appear on the roof close to where you emerge from Aenyls' headquarters. However, they only appear if you blow up the oil barrel at the top of the stairs, save and reload. There's no aggro or reputation hit if you kill them. Another group appears on the steps up to the fort's keep once you get the party started. However, if you kill them, you aggro everyone on the open area surrounding the keep. There's also a skaenite priest among the cannibals in the abandoned temple of Tangeloa on the island south of Port Make that you need to explore for the first quest for the mapmaker in Neketaka. There's none on the slaver ships; the priest there is Eothasan, strangely. The priests on the Valian ships are Waelite, and the Huana ships have priests of Berath. If you get the Moonbow that I mentioned above and use it with a priest, you can steal a ton of great priest spells just from ship battles.

  10. New release! I've implemented automatic updates! (You still have to install *this* version manually though) I've also added a popup selector for most of the *.prefab fields. You'll get to choose from among what's available in the corresponding "PillarsOfEternityII_Data/assetbundles/*.unity3d" files. This will make it a lot easier to find values for character and effect prefabs, among others. Also started exporting conversations.manifest and fixed some other stuff mentioned here: 2023-01-19 Auto Updates! When a new release is available, a dialog will give the user the opportunity to download it. Added a "prefab path" selector popup. conversations.manifest files will now be exported. Fixed an issue which caused GameDataObjects to be created with DebugName set to null. SpeakerComponent.ChatterFile will now correctly default to an empty ID string. Improved generation time of Conversation & Quest diagrams. StringTable queries now search GameData/Conversation/Quest tables asynchronously.

  11. At the very least we can all breathe a collective sigh of relief that this will stop the Crystal wave of Sailor Moon adaptations and let us focus our attention on the perfection that is The Handyman Who Got a New Life in Another World. Or will it?

  12. Is there a trailer? There was a teaser like a year ago, and it broke me. Please tell me it's just the teaser, not an actual trail... never mind. IT IS GOING TO BE JUST LIKE JUSTICE LEAGUE DARK APOKOLIPS! Well, somewhere in the afterlife, Seiya's original voice actress is facepalming. Well, at least the trailer is absolutely gorgeous... not. And, supreme lol at the fandom gobbling up two movie releases within a month to rake in some extra sweet cash. Can it get any more cashgrabby than that? At least Anno spent years working on his terrible remake/soft reboot/alternate timeline versions of NGE. This here? Animated one movie, sell it as two. Well, f*ck you too.

  14. But...but innovation from adversity - art from censorship! If nobody is oppressing me, my creative output withers and dies! This is outrageous, it's unconstitutional...and really, I just don't like it. I'm going to have to come up with a new list of demands, preferably one where I can have my cake and eat it too.

  15. Mark my words: Attack on Titan: The Final Season Part 3 - 2nd half will end with a movie announcement. Attack on Titan: The Final Season: The Movie will have two sequels to boot.

  16. I would say Soulblade + any Barb, maybe Furyshaper for extra synergy around Resolve afflictions. Berserker can be tough to keep alive. You will have lots of synergy around being able to debuff Fortitude into oblivion and target it with Brute Force, for a lot of nice Crits. You will also have great synergies with a certain Morningstar available early that shines with enemies affected by Resolve afflictions, and a cipher/barb excels at that - especially a Soulblade/Furyshapers in my opinion, which also give you a strong one-shot option. Beguiler could be nice too.

  17. or speer / sword combo but tell me more plz, wich subclass?

  18. Oh boy, a morningstar-wielding barbarian... I know where this is going. it starts with Bo and ends with -er. Seriously though Barb/Cipher with a certain Morningstar is all-kinds of synergistic and fun to play.

  19. yeah, I can't peer into @Elric Galad's head, but I seem to recall this was a factor, just the quality-of-life aspect.

  20. To be fair lawful neutral paladins don't murder the natives and become pirates. They just don't. If your guy is chaotic evil, sure. Maybe even neutral evil. Could argue a Bleak Walker might do it, but even Bleak Walkers are only cruel and ruthless as a means to complete contracts, so, probably a stretch for them as well. Bleak Walkers are lawful evil I think. But I don't really care about role-playing, just was pointing out the inherent subjectivity of what is considered "cheese" and why I don't find the concept useful. There are exploits (things the devs probably didn't intend but conform to the mechanics, like say wall of draining and salvation of time interaction), and there are bugs (Strand of Favor behavior), but I don't necessarily have a problem with even bugs unless they trivialize combat. Your Armored Arcanist may not be lore-friendly but he doesn't use and bugs or even exploits, and that's pretty impressive. Watched the Oracle fight and on fast mode it actually isn't quite as bad as I was expecting, but...fighting on fast mode is suicidal in iron runs (unless your script is absolutely foolproof) especially with Vela. This fight would take 25 minutes in slow mode, longer with Magran's Fires challenges on. And there are much longer fights than this. You don't actually use the weapons much so they'd probably be fine but your shield would break in nearly every fight and the armor in most of them. Maybe you could stock up on generic Legendary Plate Mail, and if it breaks late enough in the fights it might still be possible. But...build not meant for iron probably, and definitely not meant for Ultimate. The challenge was meant to be near-impossible and with BPM may actually be impossible. I'm just thinking out loud because I'm attracted to impossible challenges. Very cool build and Thee God-Emperor of Tanks.

  22. Eh? You get more loot sinking ships than boarding? That isn't right I don't think...unless it is specifically for the "vegeance ships"? I've done tons of ship encounters and in general you get way more loot from boarding. Can you expand on "abuse Arcana"? I must have missed something. Most of the exploits I used in my Ultimate run I figured out for myself (though I'm sure were already well-known), which personally I find fun. I didn't notice anything weird about arcana... Yeah Messenger is ridiculous, not only does he have stupid high HP but in general he heals faster than you can damage him without hacking recovery (and even then it is hard solo). I'd be interested in seeing how you tackled that fight...(*cough, record something, *cough) This game should have a fallen paladin mechanic, or some kind of alignment system, because this guy is for real a serial killer and a pirate with a "righteous soul" and "virtuous triumph".

  23. BPM makes Fire Godlike +2 AR while Bloodied, +4 Burn AR and the tiny retaliation works all the time so it's slightly better than in Vanilla and getting 24 AR is nice on Upscaled to be foolproof in most fights (e.g. in case you get shortly debuffed with Sunder Armor or Rusted Armor, which wouldn't last long anyway).

  24. And I've been wanting to add a pic of what the build looks like in-combat, so I'm taking advantage of this possibly brief moment where I can actually post. This is with scripted buffs procced. And I realized Llengrath's Safeguard does very little for this build. The defenses don't stack with borrowed instinct, and the armor doesn't stack with ironskin, so its sole purpose is the emergency AOE attack. Its duration is WAY longer than Borrowed Instinct, though, particularly when it doesn't crit, so still worth the cast in some battles but I probably should take it out of the script. And if anyone wanted to see the script I can put that up too, though it would take a lot of screenshots so I'd probably need to upload the script itself.

  26. Attack on Titan Splits the Final Season Part 3 in Two Parts, Sets Premiere Date I blame this on @Space KP, Baby, who made a joke just about it months ago. Stop giving them these ideas. Meanwhile, I decided to try one of the new animes of the season. It seems I missed some weird ones: Apparently, Disillusioned Adventurers Will Save the World The Magical Revolution of the Reincarnated Princess and the Genius Young Lady The Handyman Who Got a New Life in Another World Reborn to Master the Blade: From Hero-King to Extraordinary Squire Saving 80,000 Gold in Another World for my Retirement This last one seems to involve guns for some reason: Ok... I think I’ll watch Kaina of the Great Snow Sea instead, it seems much better than the weird ones.

  28. When entering the fungus-infested wing of the library in Forgotten Sanctum, your party sees huge bookshelves ruined by the infestation, and Vatnir has some ambient dialogue. I'm going to paraphrase it from memory: "Scribes toiled for countless years to create these tomes. Now look at them. Fools." This really stuck with me because it was a rare example of a character in the game expressing a religious point of view in a way that was neither abstract nor directly about a deity. We hear plenty of talk about Rymrgand being the god of entropy, impermanence, final endings, etc., and we see plenty of people talk about their devotion to him and other gods. But it is rare to see a character's religious views influence their attitude towards the mundane in a way that's not entirely on the nose. It would have been nice to see more of this in the game. Have characters' religiosity come out in how they respond to actual situations, not just in abstract pontificating and declarations of devotion. Does anyone have more examples?

  29. I thought PoE1 did really well. Deadfire not so much. I imagine it must be a way the game was conceptualised and written. There is a lot of care put into explaining lore and political situations, but not much character growth. I think it might also be an issue with the relationship system. A lot of writing went into companions, and they react to things which will reinforce their traits - Xoti will react to religion, Eder to pets, Takehu of criticism of Huana. The way they react is also odd. Pallegina in PoE1 would argue about value of the Republics, but in Deadfire she will snap at any criticism, because that’s what reinforces the system. Eder liked pets in PoE1, but he didn’t restate it at every occasion. I think this Vatnir remark is a nice example of a character organically reacting to his environment making it personal. There is no reason for him to be at Forgotten Sanctum - he wasn’t created for this DLC so lines he has are purely personal - he is not a vehicle for this places lore. But he is there and sees what is around him, and comments on it. Also DLCs were freed from shackles of companion system, and freeform exploring, which made for more engaging experiences. After DLCs I find myself spend more and more time with some of the sidekicks.

  31. Llengrath in PoE1 was pretty much the toughest fight for in the game, added with WM part 2. Killing her was more out of desire for “completion” that necessity. If you want to know the conflict it’s:

  32. I personally don't find the good/evil dichotomy very useful, but I do think that Llengrath tends to be pretty forthright with her objectives, ambitions, and desires (moreso than Tayn), even if you have to push her a bit on occasion to admit what those are. Generally speaking, Llengrath is on team Long Term Stability, Tayn is on team Shake Things Up, and Arkemyr is on team Status Quo. Maura is on team Rightfully Pissed Off.

  33. Most of the Arkemyr reactivity comes from the imps. With bonus reactivity for people actually wearing his robes when first meeting them. I had it in inventory but I forgot about them! Damn. I have to try this next time. I liked Fassina before Forgotten Sanctum. Now she's even better. Everything she says in the DLC is "fassinating" :D

  36. It is not possible to join the Circle within the Forgotten Sanctum DLC. We tried to balance "The player, especially if they're a wizard, should be able to ask about joining" against "There's no way we can actually support that in the development time we have." It's possible we didn't balance it as well as we could have. (I do really like that a non-Wizard player can ask Llengrath about joining and she's like "uh... you're not a mage, much less an archmage.")

  38. That was mostly Paul Kirsch. I agree that Tayn's a delight, but I don't think I'd ever trust him with anything. Paul also wrote every imp in Deadfire and its DLCs save for one. Which one? We'll never tell! Wouldn't her skeleton be there in that case? Three are missing. One is the subject of Forgotten Sanctum. One, in corpse form, is an important plot point in White March. Is the third Woedica? I wouldn't rule it out, but I also think she's something of a stickler for rules.

  39. I didn't think to talk to Tayn about the book. Something for next playthrough! Kudos to whoever wrote Tayn by the way, he's a charming jackass and I consider him to be my large chaotic son.

  40. I finished it last night, and it was my favorite DLC of the bunch. Plenty of new maps, and lots of enemy variety, with quite a few boss battles thrown in as well. There also appears to be plenty of reactivity and different outcomes. Be sure to bring Concelhaut along.
