Decided I'm finally ready for Disco Elysium's Jamais Vu playthrough, going with opposite build (high yellow and red, low blue, miserable purple), so far its less fun because most contributions come from level-headed skills like Perception and Interfacing so I really miss my previous buddies Inland Empire and Esprit de Corps. And Electrochemistry is suspiciously silent too. Guess I'll run a parallel High Purple build too.3 points

I guess one of the main reasons why people don't mix Bloodmage with Forbidden Fist too much is that vanilla, Helwalker or Nalpasca Monks would gain wounds from Blood Sacrifice (which is a nice synergy) while Forbidden Fist (and Shattered Pillar) do not. Besides that it should work well - as most Sages do. Enfeebled + any afflictions should be a nice combo.2 points

...I'm definitely not thinking of Princess Mononoke and the intro sequence where Ashitaka sacrifices* himself in order to save his little sister before leaving his village being the best part of the film and it all going downhill from there on. Nope, not at all, .2 points

Through Galaxy, yep, I'm still on the wayyyy old patch before the spellbook merge "fix". Not sure how's it with executables. Speaking of Extended Bugfixion, I doubt I'll play it if nobody picks up Combat Relief mod, because its modder just quit. 'sfunny how I mod my other games to expand the experience, and Pathfinders just to not ragequit.2 points

Depends what you mean by AAA. Neither Avowed nor Outer Worlds are humongous project by AAA standards. Last time I heard, Avowed had about 100 people working on it, which from what I understand is about Bethesda studio size, but well under something like Ubo project or Baldur's Gate3. If they indeed aim for AAA rather then something of Outer Worlds scale, then it is hardly surprising it takes that long. Look at Bethesda and how often they release new games. Both Avowed and Outer Worlds2 got CGI trailers with no details and nothing to show. As far as I am concerned OW2 isn't that much farther in development then Avowed was when it was announced. I see no reason to believe that OW2 will release ahead of Avowed, unless the latter truly is in major troubles.1 point

I think blood mage/nalpasca is probably the best combination from the perspective of game synergy. But I am currently playing FF instead because I just love the FF ability. It's amazing for any build that features debuffs and DoT attacks. Also, with high RES, Clarity of Agony and Enduring Dance, the FF sage will accrue wounds rapidly. And if you use the Grimoire Imprint trick, you also won't need to use blood sacrifice very often.1 point

Right, sanitation. Which is the point of the mask wearing. Just because we could let the virus run rampant through the population doesn't mean we should. There's a net negative impact on the economy from too many people being out sick.1 point

I'm currently playing a blood mage/ forbidden fist, and it is a lot of fun. Wizards have great disabling spells and DoT spells that you can prolong with the FF attack's enfeeblement. I am playing a pale elf with 10 STR, 15 CON, 14 DEX, 18 PER, 15 INT and 18 RES, with Berath's Blessings. The nice thing about this build is that you can take a lot of the great monk abilities since as a wizard you can rely on grimoires and/or the grimoire imprint spell trick for your casting, and thus don't need to select spells when leveling up as a wizard, except lvl 1 when you are forced to do so. Since fists and summoned wizard spells are so great (Concelhaut's Draining Touch and the Citzal's Lance) you don't really need to worry about weapons, although ultimately you may want Magran's Favor or the Seeker's Fang for your main hand. But I strongly recommend Tuotilo's Palm for the offhand for extra defense. With it, weapon & shield style, Arcane Veil and Mirrored Image you can get insanely high DEF very early in the game. Clarity of Agony is essential, and I recommend as well the monk passives like soul mirror and crucible of suffering, which will proc a lot due to your high DEF and very short FF curse durations, respectively. Enduring Dance is worth it as well as you won't be hit enough to break it very often. Touch spells, like Kalkoth's Sunless Grasp and Jolting Touch are also thematically fun. The former does a nice debuff which you can extend with the FF attack and the latter has many jumps once your PL is high, and can wipe out small mobs as a result.1 point

Neighbor told my mother that I dumped some trash next to the trash bin today, so she actually went there, picked up the trash and threw it into the bin and asked me what the hell I was thinking. I haven't even been close to the trash area of our appartment building in over a week (more like two) as I don't really have an awful lot of trash to dispose of - and I wouldn't buy half liter bottles of soft drinks, which was apparently what the trash consisted of mostly. Stupid ass drunk probably left it there himself, or else lord knows what or who he saw in his stupor.1 point

Very funny clip Trevor Noah is South African and he makes me laugh. But white people in SA are different ethic groups like everywhere else in the world. Thats why I often say there is no such thing as " white people " , its just a collective term. Its like Slavs are a collective term because there are different Slavic ethic groups. Its just easier to say " white people " likes it easier to " black people " but there different tribes and black ethnic groups in Africa Anyway white Afrikaans people are descendants from the Dutch so most of them have slight way of mispronouncing words and a rough way of speaking English, not all of them but most of them. Here is an example of slight Afrikaans accent ere1 point

I loved their British accents in SWTOR, and at least a couple of them are authentic too because their VAs are British. I'm also curious now what authentic Afrikaans accent sounds like. Brief Youtube search on the subject gave me nothing decent but this:1 point

Watched the first two episodes. The orphanage has a punishment for wrongdoing that consists of being hung naked from the ceiling, and Riko, the main character, is of course an apparently regular victim. Her voice is also really grating, but that's something very subjective. Somewhat strange exposition dump at the end of the first episode that's basically the Cliff Notes for the book What Happened In This Episode For Dummies. Riko being in an orphanage also necessitates an exposition moment with soft piano music about her missing (presumed dead) mother and her last adventure in the titular Abyss, but to the credit of the series that happens only in the middle of the second episode, not immediately right at the start, and the scene didn't feel emotionally manipulative, it's more like Shinji and Gendo when they talk about his mother (in terms of mood, not in terms of quality). Other than that, nothing much happened yet, except: Uhm. So... well, at least none of the characters are inherently loathsome. Riko's stuck with a sort of shouneny drive and ambition to outdo her legendary mother. Not sure, that's about all I can say after two episodes. It's not bad by any means and it looks better than it has any right to, even with the character models being weird. The punishment meted out to unruly orphans makes me question our poster's assessment about the children being tortured for reasons inherent to the world they live in and not just for random cruelty. That's just pointlessly cruel for cruelty's sake - or to animate naked children. Either way is, let's say, a tad weird. Have an animated gif of the scene: Still not as bad as Nanoha's burnt off clothes-tentacle rape transformation or the girl bashing her bullies' heads into lockers. Which I'll just link here too, because why not. For everyone who missed it when we talked about it. It's time coded, but feel free to watch all of it! Anyway, still, the first two episodes were okay. Kinda afraid that Riko will end up naked some more.1 point

Virtually all accents in Bioware games are fake. Their basic Canadian, basic American, and occasional real British are realish. Even most of their French are French Canadian doing 'French accents'. Hell, even their different American dialects (Boston, Midwest, Southern, Cajun, Jersey etc.) are fake.1 point

Not that I really like sharing doom and gloom, but it does look worrying... https://www.bbc.com/news/business-62310355 ...But the contraction, at an annual rate of 0.9% in the three months to July, has drawn widespread attention as worries about the economy grow. Prices for groceries, petrol and other basics are rising at the fastest pace since 1981. As the US central bank raises borrowing costs quickly to try to cool the economy and ease price pressures, fears are rising that a recession is coming - if it has not officially started already. as for the possible reasons: "I think everybody is sort of waiting for the pandemic to blow over, for the war in Ukraine to settle down, but that's not going to resolve any of the inherent systemic flaws," he says, citing high housing costs, student debt and speculative bubbles in sectors like crypto. High housing cost is not a surprise. I've been claiming for years, it's going to be a major contributor to damaging social stability in the western world...1 point

I don't read twitter (unless people on these forums post links), but it can't be any worse than when some of us (me) read Murdoch media (Sky News/Fox News, same thing) just to groan at the lies and face palm at the sheer stupidity of comments of those who swallow the tabloid stuff... As painful as the existence of such people is, it helps you get a better view of the world and sometimes, just sometimes, help you understand where humanity goes wrong.1 point

For me it was always about the hospitalization rate. If you can keep the rate manageable without a lockdown, then you should consider avoiding a lockdown because it can do more harm than good. That's probably where the US is now, although mask requirements can still be helpful as a pre-emptive measure.1 point

Grey Man was action-packed. It was like a less smart version of of the Bourne films, but the cast was stellar, so I enjoyed it. It makes me want to play Jagged Alliance though, for some reason. I'm not in the mood to fight getting it to run right with the 1.13 patch, so I might just load of Xcom 2 instead. Why aren't there any good mercenary turn based games anymore?1 point

I am a gamer that loves to create and build. Grounded has a great building system but it could be even more awesome with some new building pieces I wish we had. -We have horizontal half walls, what about vertical half walls? For any wall type and even for the current horizontal half walls, making them quarter walls. Sometimes I don't want to entirely close off a space but still have some sort of devider. -And sometimes I feel a bit limited with the stairs, or don't feel like having greens stairs in my builds that don't use any grass. Stem stairs and half stairs would be pretty neat to have too. -Let's talk about the stem half wall and let's be honest, it's a great railing but as a wall.. it doesn't blend into the full stem walls for let's say, when you make a tower of specific height. -How cool would it be if we could provide more detail and structure to our bases with horizontal beams, this is mostly an aesthetic request. -Next up, roofs. My castle outpost towers of 1 square look a bit silly with the dome pieces, but other than the flat roof piece, nothing really works for it. So I'd love to see the dome piece but squared. Also the peaked pieces, there's no triangle wall pieces that fill in the gaps that that roof piece has, just a little finishing touch. And my last purely aesthetic request: being able to paint structures like the working bench and the production buildings To whoever reads this, feel free to drop your idea's on this post!1 point

Just in time... the new season 2 is at episode 4 now Saving it (new season) for when I'm going to hang out with a friend in Melbourne next month. She wanted us to watch the new season together (the young lady was the one who introduced me to Made in Abyss) Edit: If you want the tl;dr; version, two compilation movies does an abridged version of season 1 between them. A recent movie Made in Abyss the Movie: Dawn of the Deep Soul bridges the gap between season 1 and the new season 2 Edit2: I don't think nudity etc. is a defining feature of the series, but brutality, cruelty and loss is. By the way, you really ought to have to me complete a fifteen second investigation as to whether a show is going to be...well, that, before you start it. I mean honestly, a few seconds of looking at user screenshots and it's pretty obvious what kind of content it will have, . @kirottu recommended Angel's Egg and I liked that, I can only assume that his not-exactly-a-recommendation of Made in Abyss has to be okay. Someone besides only @majestic has to be capable of recommending things I like, right? I still remember that one part where the one girl brutally and bloodily bashes a locker room of girls' brains in. No, I don't think I'll watch that.0 points
