Azdeus Posted February 18, 2017 Posted February 18, 2017 Well, there's an article that flies in the face of one heck of a lot of human experience over the course of history, as well as other modern studies. It's been my experience that those who make it a point to advertise themselves as representing logic, reason, 'common sense', science, skepticism, critical thinking, etc usually represent quite the opposite. Mr Novella is certainly no exception. Also, 'Pew Research' is about as bad as it gets on the quality scale for research. If one considers truth and reality to be a standard of quality that is. Wow, attacking Novella and Pew research really does improve your position. Would it have been better if I pulled it from Scientific American instead? Because they reported on it aswell. Facts are what the facts are, and these reasearch papers prove you wrong. The part about illegal immigrants committing less crime is a lie. It's also interesting to note the left's hypocrisy here. They constantly claim illegal immigrants are honest and hard working. Yet they simultaneously claim under Trump's new policy to deport a broader range of criminals as many as 8 million of the supposedly 11 million illegals are eligible for deportation, which is a pretty huge percentage. So which is it then? Because they're illegal immigrants and are committing a civic offence by just being in the country in the first place I reckon. Civilization, in fact, grows more and more maudlin and hysterical; especially under democracy it tends to degenerate into a mere combat of crazes; the whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, most of them imaginary. - H.L. Calax Posted February 19, 2017 Posted February 19, 2017 Examples? East End of London hated Bobby Peel's original police force. Most of the negative names for the police in english originate from there. Yes, I think there were some troubles with the Roman Empire too. ... You do realize that Rome didn't have a professional police force correct? As in the Bobby's/London Police Force were the first of their kind in the world, with all prior police actions and authorities being ceded to a local noble who's enforcement was at his own discretion, or in times of crisis, the army was used internally. The history of law enforcement is a fascinating subject you should examine if you ever get the chance. Especially given that 500 years ago "Felony" meant "execution" in terms of punishment. It amazes me how WoD sounds exactly like all the liberals freaking out about Trump whenever he talks about Obama. Is there any awareness of that?Trump has been in office for a month, Obama for 8 years. So we know exactly what Obama's policies have led to. And has spent more in that month on vacationing in Florida than the Obama's spent in a year's time (10 million bucks for security and transit to his Club) Victor of the 5 year fan fic competition! Kevin Butler will awesome your face off.

Elerond Posted February 19, 2017 Posted February 19, 2017 http://theness.com/neurologicablog/index.php/immigration-and-crime/ Speaking of immigrants and crime... This is useless study. First it only shows the distribution in crime. Where is the "per capita" data? In any country you will have more natives committing crimes just by sheer numbers. So let's put this numbers in perspective: According to this chart around 40% of crimes are committed by immigrants (first and second generation), but in US this group is only 12-15% of the population. So it seems this group is HIGHLY criminal, because 12-15% of the population is responsible for 40% of the crimes! Second prevalence of each group involved in at least 1 crime? Another WTF? So it doesn't matter if 10 natives each commit 1 crime each and 1 second generation commits 10 crimes it wouldn't affect the results of this study? In the previous 12 months. Seriously? That's not great time frame to have a thorough study on the case. Chart don't have information that you think it has, because it is chart about behavioral pattern it doesn't have any information how many crimes each groups have committed, but how probably it is that person from that group has committed at least one crime. http://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2013/10/15/crime-rises-among-second-generation-immigrants-as-they-assimilate/ 1

Wrath of Dagon Posted February 20, 2017 Author Posted February 20, 2017 Law enforcement doesn't keep statistics on immigrant crime, Pew BS are guesses and biased guesses at that. Where there are spotty statistics they indicate illegals account for large percentage of crimes committed. "Moral indignation is a standard strategy for endowing the idiot with dignity." But these same philosophers have rarely noted that the citizen in question simultaneously loses another right, one just as basic and perhaps even more vital for his conception of himself as a civilized human being: the right not to kill.” -Jonathan Littell <<Les Bienveillantes>> Quote "The chancellor, the late chancellor, was only partly correct. He was obsolete. But so is the State, the entity he worshipped. Any state, entity, or ideology becomes obsolete when it stockpiles the wrong weapons: when it captures territories, but not minds; when it enslaves millions, but convinces nobody. Guard Dog Posted February 20, 2017 Posted February 20, 2017 Some genuinely nasty reactions to Melania Trump reciting the Lords Prayer at the rally on Saturday. It's a funny thing. The left is pretty high on the "make no law regarding the establishment of a religion" part of the first amendment but totally ignore the "or prohibiting the free exercise thereof" part. I'd just like to ask them where you there? No? Then what do you give a s--t? NBC & CNN reported that it happened but did not report on the venom or public criticism. I would laud them for that but the thing is left wing biased news media tends to not report on nastiness from people who share their leanings. Had it been Michelle Obama and nasty comments came from folks on the right CNN & NBC would have been all over that. Raithe Posted February 20, 2017 Posted February 20, 2017 Swedish Police featured in Fox News segment say the filmmaker is a madman .... Trump’s comments about Sweden during his rally in Melbourne, Florida, spawned headlines in newspapers all around the world. The American president later clarified on Twitter, saying that he was referring to a segment on Fox News about a film by filmmaker Ami Horowitz. But the policemen who were portrayed in the segment say that they were misrepresented by Horowitz. ”He is a madman”. .... "Cuius testiculos habeas, habeas cardia et cerebellum."
Wrath of Dagon Posted February 20, 2017 Author Posted February 20, 2017 Those policemen are probably afraid of getting fired for breaking the omerta. Valsuelm Posted February 20, 2017 Posted February 20, 2017 (edited) They were relatively polite those policemen at least. They didn't spout 'racist!', they only spouted 'madman!'.. Whatever their motives they are deluded if they don't think immigration has caused an increase in crime in their nation as well as many other problems. Police peoples are known for being deluded though, finding two that are isn't hard. All that said, I don't know the details, but taking things out of context is the name of the game in modern propaganda land. I've no patience or respect for it in the arena of serious discussion. If the documentary maker that Fox paraded is guilty of such dishonesty, may his balls rot off his body. If he's innocent of the charge, cheers to him. Edited February 20, 2017 by Valsuelm
Azdeus Posted February 20, 2017 Posted February 20, 2017 (edited) Except that they are allowed to say such things and wouldn't risk their jobs by doing so. And by your own words, Springare is delusional aswell. These are statistics from the Swedish National Crime Survey. Translation for the colours; Threat, Harassment, Fraud, Assault, Sex-crimes, Muggings. Reported crimes in the city of Malmö, the town where we unfortunately dump many immigrants and one of the areas where we have had the most reported problems. Number of deaths caused by another person per 100 000 residents and their gender. Edit; Forgot the sexcrimes stats, will update in a moment. Can't get the actual graph to link properly, so here are the numbers; Overall reprted sexcrimes in 2006; 12147 In 2015 18057 In 2005 there were changes to the law that meant that some crimes that were previously sexual exploitation became rape instead and the law was changed further to include that if the victim simply was too scared to resist, it would also be classified as rape. This does'nt account for all of the increase though.
