I've always said that the black city would be the climax of the series.

So this is the conclusion to the Flemeth story then?

New save file system allows users to create customised historical world states from scratch to use in Dragon Age: Inquisition.

BioWare has revealed a method for creating save files to use in its upcoming game, Dragon Age: Inquisition. Posted on the official BioWare Blog, Dragon Age executive producer Mark Darrah announced the Dragon Age Keep.

The Dragon Age Keep allows players to create a customised Dragon Age historical world state, which carries over choices made in Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age II.

Players will be able to customise "as much or as little about the world of Thedas" using the Dragon Age Keep. This customised world state will then be possible to import into Dragon Age: Inquisition.

Darrah also stated that importing game saves is an issue that BioWare is "continuing to investigate". In particular, how saves from previous games could be utilised to "populate the initial world state of the Dragon Age Keep". Darrah did not specify whether importing saves directly into Dragon Age: Inquisition will be possible.

I've fired a shed-load of small arms (and not-so-small-arms) on automatic. Yep, you don't hit much. Which leads me to Q2. Amount of rounds fired versus kills is utterly Point Not Found. Infantrymen try to win the firefight. This means saturating the enemy location with fire to keep his head down so you can advance / flank / bring support weapons to bear. As long as you win the firefight it matters not how many kills you get. In fact, if you put down 5,000 rounds of MG and rifle fire and kill nobody, but pin the enemy for long enough to kill him with fast air then it's a massive tick in the 'Win' column.

I hope that makes sense. The only rounds fired / kill ratio that means squat in a military context are those fired by a sniper, a military specialism.

170 years from now I'd expect firearms still to fire slugs. Almost certainly caseless, maybe in the 6-7mm range and using weapons that utilize electricity and have relatively few moving parts. An Advanced Combat Rifle might well have a large capacity magazine of 100+ rounds with a wide choice of sub-munitions. I think that 'ray guns' and 'lasers' are many years on from that because your personal weapon is always made by the lowest bidder (qv Murphy's Laws of Combat).

The point, my fine friend, is that "my machingun isn't accurate enough" is a redicolous complaint.

If you want to be realistic, you're gonna be missing most of the time, because rapid-fire ballistic weapons aren't accurate. Period.

If you're not, then the appropriate amount of accuracy is for the devs to determine and the player  complaint has no leg to stand on, other than "but I want to kill stuff dead faster"

So alanshu, now that PAX has started, are you going to reveal anything good?

On complexity: I've always thought that complexity in a game was derived from the variety of enemies, in which case DA2 is definitely not as complex as BG2, which isn't as complex as a game made using the Pathfinder system would be.

Enemy variety has no effect on complexity if you have no choices to even make. I would agree the types of enemies you fight effects complexity, but only in a 'meta-gaming' sense - it's not like you know who you're going to fight when you first play the game.

I made a 2 hour rant video about dragon age 2. It's not the greatest... but if you want to watch it, here ya go:

I disagree. Sure, you don't know exactly what your PC will be fighting, but if foes are essentially a dozen types that use the same abilities, the same tactics, and are level-scaled to have the same attributes, battles will be incredibly similar and generally not very complex. Take DA2 vs BG2. In DA2, every enemy mage used the same spell list, and unless you were playing on Nightmare and they had some random immunity slapped on, tactics against them would be the same. Ditto for Warrior and Rogue foes as well. In BG2, Mages were much more complex and fighting them you needed to cast certain spells to remove their protections and dispell any effects they caused your party, but Thieves backstabbed and Warriors(Barbarians, Fighters, Paladins, Rangers) hit **** with their weapons. In a Pathfinder game, battles would be much more complex because with the large amount of feats, spells, and special abilities, characters that are of the same class could be vastly different than in BG2.

Is that the latest romance option?

Cute dinosaurs with flammable tails have been under-represented in video games for too long.

Is it a felony in DA world to have a relationship with a underaged dinosaur?

Aside, I know they do inter-species relationships, but was Shale romanceable?

As far as I know - no.

I cannot - yet I must. How do you calculate that? At what point on the graph do "must" and "cannot" meet? Yet I must - but I cannot! ~ Ro-Man

Son, I am disappoint.

As for romance, I hope they're inclusive enough to represent the self pleasuring type. Too long have we labored on the outskirts of humanity.

Yep, she is a brick house indeed.

On another point, why the hell all threads about BW degenerate into the same thing?

"Who is romanceable?"

"Is the game going to suck?"

" [insert BW game here] sucked so this one is going to"

"No that game didn't suck this other BW game sucked more"

I'd say the answer to that question is kind of like the answer to "who's the sucker in this poker game?"*

"For example, if you fight a dragon in a rocky clearing, you may be able to take cover from its breath weapon behind boulders. However, the dragon can flush you out by concentrating its fire to melt the stone."

“You can individually target their limbs, and they react to the damage to a leg versus another one,” says Laidlaw. “I think that helps ground the encounter a lot more. If you need to get in close to the legs, we open up a whole new realm of counter-moves. He can take a swipe at where you likely are, which feels more like what a real beast would do. It grounds the encounter, and keeps it very physical.”

Meh, sounds like Twitcher or some other action game to me.

That is really disappointing, the next thing I'm expecting to hear is that the pause function is getting removed, because, let's be honest, if the gameplay is going in that direction, who needs it.
