3rd Person mod is out! A bit buggy but so is the rest of this game

https://www.nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077/mods/669

I am a huge supporter of Nexus and all their mods. The people who create these Mods are an amazing group and how they can change so much of the functionality of many games that you feel may be lacking in areas

I even joined the Nexus Premium membership and paid to do it, its a lifetime membership and was a one off cost of about $65

Money well spend to support such a great initiative that provides so much enhanced gaming

Based on all the comments, it's more than a "bit" buggy.  A good effort but still largely unusable outside of goofing off or maybe non-combat walking screenshots. Anyway ... I totally understand wanting 3rd but I think I'll stick with first, unless they officially add it in at some point.

What I wish this game had was a more permanent companion - and I don't mean in-your-head Keanu, but someone like Jackie with you all the time. Am I correct in assuming you only get paired with others for a mission and they disappear to "wait" for you somewhere else, if at all?  Sigh.  Makes me want to reinstall FO4 just to have the dog around again.

I know! Cyber-dog companion DLC, anyone? I'd buy it.

What it says on the tin, it's quite fun hearing the designer of some of the past decades most awesome looking cars(Ford Escort RS Cosworth, Ferrari F430, Maserati Quattroporte, Maserati GranTurismo, McLaren MP4-12C, McLaren P1 to name a few) talk about the design of Cyberpunks vehicles!

Civilization, in fact, grows more and more maudlin and hysterical; especially under democracy it tends to degenerate into a mere combat of crazes; the whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, most of them imaginary. - H.L. Has anyone managed to get ricocheting work even semi-consistently?
I only managed a single instance where I could bypass enemy cover with it.

Tiny reward given dozens of innocent bystanders I gunned down trying to make it work.

Read about a new flying mod https://www.pcgamer.com/cyberpunk-2077-flying-mod-lets-you-soar-over-night-city/

Became all excited, thought about screenshot oppurtunities.  But it requires that Cyberenginetweaks mod. Downloaded/installed/created the directory for that but can't get it to work.  Upgraded a VC redistrib. they said to do if it isn't working. Still doesn't work. Maybe there's another such file I need to update but no clue (I haven't fully "upgraded" Win10 in ages) and I'm not going to bother sussing it out just for a game mod.

So I am left fly-less.  Wah. 😥  Maybe it'll work for someone else tho.  Screenshots if you do.

I watched that video and I can finally understand why people are unhappy with this being The Witcher 3 with guns.

Never saw any trailers myself, or read up on anything. No hype, no idea what was promised -> no disappointment. Game's fairly OK. So far, at least. I've been ignoring the main quest by far and large and run around shooting people.

Which admittedly isn't that interesting after a while. Just trying to get my skills up. Which... doesn't seem like it's worth it.

edit: Apparently that video is in a different thread. Ok, whatevs. :p

Trying to get level 20 blades, so I've been running around slashing everything but I've plateaued at 17, not really sure what more I can do.  But while the lvl 20 perks would be nice but I wade through everything anyway.  Using the Sandevistan to become Miles Teg does yield funny results where I get stealth points for running into a room with it on and killing everyone before they notice me.

I've been shooting things through walls the entire game so far, and my Engineering skill is at level 8 or 9. Hacking and Breach Protocol are the only things that seem to level quite nicely. Well maybe Cold Blood or Stealh would too, I don't know.

Levelling crafting is a great experience, roaming around to exhaust every vending machine in the city.  Did make me wonder at who is filling up the vending machines in some dark hideout in Pacifica or even better a transit stop in near the middle of nowehere in the Badlands

Deactivating cameras and turrets by hand, breaching doors and chucking grenades are the best way to level Engineering.

Engineering levels like a charm by throwing grenades. Only thing that is a drag to level is athletics. It gives measly 20 exp for spending 500 stamina, which you start at 100 and it seems every other perk reduces the amount of stamina you use to do stuff and the only other thing seems to be force opening doors which there are not that many and gives 100xp.

Yeah, I found the Quick Hack , Breaching, Stealth all levelled up fairly smoothly.

Well, when I say fairly smoothly, I had them around 16-18 after that 104 hours of my first playthrough.

Handguns and Blades were around 14-15, whilst my Athletics was incredibly draggy and I think was just hovering at 8 or 9.

Having a proper pause from the game now, letting things settle, my memory haze a touch, and what patches might turn up in the next month before properly getting into a second play.

Huh, must try grenades again. Not entirely sure why, but I tried that and it didn't do sh*t.

Or more likely, it didn't show up as progress on the screen. The game fails to display either the loot or the experience progress in a regular basis for me. A lot of times I'm already in the car and driving somewhere it and still shows me each and every piece of trash I picked up. Slowly. VERY slowly. :p

I tend to take everyone out by non-lethal means (usually stealth, breach protocol, contagion and short circuit or punchy punch time) then when I go to loot them I'll shoot them in the head. Then I pick up the bodies and dump them for more stealth XP.

I think when I replay the game I'll just give myself a bunch of skill progression shards so I don't have to play so oddly just to level up my skills.

Did three encounters solely by throwing grenades. One of them gave zero Engineering XP, one gave no more than what I would have gotten if I had sniped everyone through walls and one was okay in terms of XP gain. It's definitely acting weird and potentially related to using Breach Protocol and/or Cyberpsychosis, because I did use Cyberpsychosis to bunch up a group of melee enemies to take out with the grenades in the encounter that yielded no experience, or it might be related to being in combat or not, or a combination of both.

Not quite the level of aplology Squeenix did after the initial FFXIV launch, where all the execs stood on stage quite literally with their heads bowed in shame, but it's closer to that than to the usual non-apology we get *cough* FO76 *cough*.  I appreciate that he didn't throw his developers under the bus and took the blame himself.

Cyberpunk doesn't sound like it's anywhere near as bad as either of those though?

Cyberpunk might have technical issues, but FF XIV was broken on every front (bad engine, bad controls, bad UI, bad mechanics,...).

I mean, FF XIV's beta was such a terrible experience it took my entire guild moving to that game before I could even be coerced into playing it, and that was not even a year ago now, so almost 10 years after the beta... Talk about scars ;) (to inject some positivity: FF XIV is pretty good now)

And FO76, well, FO4 online, what did people honestly expect when you take the worst FO game to date, take out every redeeming quality, and add some more of one of the most iconic features that is left: bugs... :deadhorse:

But the important thing is that the PC version worked fairly well. ;)

Technical, unmet expectations and broken promises aside, my surprise is reserved more for ... if a game is not heavily patched/tweaked in the first 2-4 weeks even when it "runs fine" out of the gate. Because even if it "runs fine" dev's can never stop changing, altering, rebalancing, adding to, or catering to "what the gamers want" (to keep up interest if nothing else), often to an extent where six months later it feels almost like a different game in a way. I am not saying this is a good or bad thing (depends), only that...

Well, if BL4 is ever made, this time i am not buying it for at least two years after release. That's all.

But yes, that video was rather lame for its purpose.  I'm not really sure why they needed it either.  Already knew about more "big" patches coming and all of that.

Side note: I didn't know they were (at least originally) planning on having some form of MP for this game, until recently.  Not that I'm interested in that, but ... it's kind of hard to picture. A separate mode perhaps that wouldn't feel at all like the solo game? Who knows.
