Mainly New York, LA, Chicago, St. Louis, DC, & Minneapolis with a few more here and there. What do all those cities have in common? Besides total control by Democrats? High crime. Criminals are going to be criminals, especially if there is a big distraction like a protest going on. The protests also map fairly closely to population density. Unsurprisingly, sparsely populated, rural areas are unlikely to see any protests worth noting. Crime rates also seem to be higher in higher pop density areas. It's almost as if... there's more to all of this than red vs blue. Perhaps poverty rates? There is that. Another factor is small rural communities are pretty tight knit. An urban apartment building houses hundreds of people who are strangers to one another. A small town most everyone knows everyone else. And their families for a generation or more. People are more likely to commit crimes against strangers.
