I hope they release DLC for Secret Government that lets me create The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants.

I'd settle for the Travelling Wilburys.

In other news Mixer is shutting down July 22, Ninja got offered 60 millions from Facebook Gaming, which he declined, and I am losing half of all of my followers :(

I liked the UI and the smoothness of Mixer more than any other streaming service around, so I think the streaming market is loosing much by them going down. Sometimes even MS does good product. To bad, they kill it off before it even starts to breath 😕

They expected the big streamers they bought to translate in to views for other streamers on their platform. They wanted a fast buy in to the market. I would have gone for the mid sized streamers, but who can say if that would even work...

Fastbuy is sometimes not very good for the whole market, and game streaming could use one more decent player in the market, to move forward with innovation. After the Ninja move by Mixer, i’ve nothing else in media, which could positively boost the share of the service. For me as a extremely small streamer, who has absolutely no plan for monetization, was Mixer good choice, and to my surprise, I ended up with same number of followers there in half the time compared to Twitch. People on Mixer were probably more willing to check out less mainstream broadcasters *shrugs*

and on Twitch I have found out more people watching you, who feel completed to tell you how to play your games properly, even though if you have with big letters written no spoilers/no backseating. I now fully understand the feelings of Skyrim Grandma 🙂

Sounds like they're throwing in the towel rather quickly to me. And this certainly won't help perception next time they launch a new, or competing platform to something, either. Ask Google about that one...

They were probably losing money and not seeing the numbers go up.

During the time Corona went viral globally and people were stuck at home Netflix, Twitch and other streaming services had a huge numbers boost.
Under these "ideal" conditions, Mixer managed a 0.2% growth. That must've been a huge morale blow.
The increases

Plus if what I heard is true Ninja (maybe Shroud too) likely took the deal because his viewership was going down and the MS paycheck would be a last big cash-out before he has to stop. So when your numbers are going down, it's not that surprising when people won't jump ship with you. But of course, this is just speculation.

It's a shame because Twitch performs like an utter dog on my Celeron NUC (I know, I know). YouTube works great and the few times I visited Mixer it was somewhere in between.

I know of it because it's a front page menu item on Age of Empires 2 DE. I hope they don't replace that button with a Facebook one...

And that is the biggest issue. They decided to pay 30 Megs to one streamer, instead of investing into building up the brand name as an alternative to Twitch, which is slowly transforming into Chaturbate Soft...

Why. Why do they insist on demoing FPSs with a ****ing controller???

Looks fun otherwise. I doubt it'll have a substantial amount of content like The Following, but if it does well, it could convince Techland to do the standalone it could have been. Maybe?

How do you know it's a controller? These sorts of trailers usually look more like some kind of scripted movement specifically tailor made to look smoother and more cinematic than normal controls (that, or some people have gotten really good at just making it look that way, since nobody who actually plays games moves the way trailers like these show the player moving). The real question is why is the field of view about 60 degrees, what the hell - feels claustrophobic...and not in a good way. The player's hands coming directly out of their face is not helping matters, either.

It's logical to demo something on the worst possible controller no? Like, if it's playable with that then it's playable on anything.

Guitar Hero drum controller it is then.

Beyond a Steel Sky out on Apple Arcade now (I'm assuming that's for iOS devices), Steam in July. No word on GOG, but hopefully there and Humble also. I'd embed the trailer here, but for the last couple of days I can't post any videos here, I always get a 403 Error. >_<

New videos of Empire of Sin. The second one dives a bit more into wars between gangs.
