Can someone please help me figure out how to fix this issue. I'm not sure if it's my computer or my settings but when I play Deadfire on PC my characters look choppy on the character menus. When I play on console everyone looks great. I've attached my graphics settings for the game. I've played through much of the game like this but it's so annoying and I would like to fix it before I start a new character. Please help! https://drive.google.com/file/d/1LH777fnWlb3WsWDA2SolSqVUfi1a967r/view?usp=drive_link https://drive.google.com/file/d/1iBtrgjBeVx6RRYp_C0wd-Sc78MbRSq2j/view?usp=drive_link

Hi, Is anyone able to explain how one might be able to "swap" armor graphics? Meaning 3d models not just the icon (that i have managed somehow). I've tried messing around with it after tese two tutorials (https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/86034-tutorial-making-potions-usable-outside-of-combat/, https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/86074-tutorial-editing-abilities-talents-and-items/). But because they don't really cover this matter, unfortunately I can't get it to work no matter what I try with swapping seamingly coresponding game object assets. Any help would be most welcome.

Incorrect resolution and cursor offset
alazyworkaholic posted a question in Patch Beta Bugs and Support
I have 3 monitors. My primary middle monitor is 1920x1200. It is flanked by two 1080x1920 monitors in portrait mode. Running Linux (see attached SteamSystemInfo.txt). I start PoE from steam. It loads in the middle monitor (as desired) and the splash video plays with sound but the left quarter of the screen is black and it seems only the bottom left corner of the video is playing on my screen. When the initial menu loads after the video there is an offset between the cursor's visible location and any button it can press. A line in the player.log shows a request for fullscreen 3440 x 1440 and that my desktop is 4080x1920, which may explain why the video won't find in my 1920x1200 monitor, even though I added -screen-width 1920 -screen-height 1200 advanced startup options through the game's properties in Steam. How can I fix the cursor offset and resolution? Player.log SteamSystemInfo.txt -
here's everything my PC was doing at the time on the crash. one thing i have learned is every time it crashes im going into or out of the players menu. (SCAB) most crashes come from changing the SCAB theme and opening and closing SCAB too quick. as for ingame settings its set to full screen 1920/1080. quality medium. shadows off. blur off. vsync off. frame rate cap 120.

Guys, what's going on with textures on PS4? It looks like half of the objects in-game doesn't have textures at all! Also very weird lighting changes and weapon textures loading while aiming. Am I the only one who has these problems? I'm very confused, because this is the worst textures I ever saw on PS4. Playing on PS4 Pro, 4K 50" TV

Hello y'all, I was wondering if anyone else have this issue as well: sometimes during gameplay, the screen will randomly lock up, leaving the current frame frozen in place, but the sound will keep on playing and I can still move my party around (I can hear the footsteps) but as I said, the frame is frozen. It happens every half an hour or so. I've read somewhere that this can be fixed by updating drivers. No results. I've also read that it can be fixed by disabling the Steam overlay. Also no results. I also tried playing in fullscreen and windowed, no difference. My setup: Processor: Intel Core i5-3570K CPU 3.40GHz Windows 10 64 bits RAM: 8 gb Graphic Card: GeForce GTX 660 Ti, Driver version: 397.93 To be entirely honest, it's not game-breaking, but it's really annoying. I'm loving the game so far, but it takes away from the experience when you have to save every 30 seconds to make sure you don't lose any progress. Thank you, JP

I have been having an issue with the graphics completely wigging out on me with pillars 2. It used to be only once in a while and didn't render the game unusable, but recently has been now happening immediately upon booting up the game every time. Basically it initially looks like pretty little artifacts on the screen that flicker and change, multicolored, then after a few minutes the screen freaks out and starts jumping all over the place and then eventually completely freezes. My Specs: Intel i5-6600 3.30 GHZ CPU 32 GB Ram NVidia GeForce 970 Win 10 Home I updated my NVidia video card drivers to the most recent I updated Windows I set that MSSA (or... MSAA or whatever) to 1 like people suggested. I lowered graphics level down to medium I have rebooted the game and my computer multiple times. Any Help would be appreciated.

Hi, I've tried searching on this forum but I can't seem to find any post that addresses the issue I'm having. When I'm playing on High settings, after a while, the graphics would start showing artifacts (broken pixels) and then the game would freeze up. Sometimes, I'd still be able to close the window but the graphical artifacts would remain. I would have to shut my computer down then wait a while before I could fire it back up again. I have recently tried re-adjusting the settings to something more manageable. It would work for a while but after some time, the artifacts would show up again. The most remarkable occurrence I notice this happening is when the Messenger was sucked into that portal or when I'm fighting spellcasters that cast spells with a lot of VFX. Rig is as follows: - CPU: Core i5 6600 - GPU: AMD R9 390 8gb - RAM: 16gb DDR4 2133 Is it a limitation on my GPU/CPU/RAM/Computer as a whole? I don't know if this has any bearing on the matter but I'm able to run Witcher 3 and Assassin's Creed Origins and the most intense graphical issue I get is a framerate drop for a few seconds then it goes back to normal.

Black Textures
wagmainis posted a question in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
Hi, I am getting a kind of a graphical bug when instead of proper textures, it only shows as black. This is after the Beast of Winter update last night. I saw this on the bridge in Crookspur Fort, the Crystal spiders in the Crookspur cavern, and the Messenger (Beast of Winter). I wasn't able to get the screenshots for the first two but attached is the screenshot for the Messenger. Please note the following: - Game version 2.0 - Graphics set on High - Save game is modded and console commanded (but no mods for graphics) - Rig is as follows: - CPU: Core i5 6600 - GPU: AMD R9 390 8gb - RAM: 16gb DDR4 2133 I am now currently: - Trying the game without mods - Trying the game on medium and low graphics - Trying the game with all graphics settings unticked EDIT: I got the textures back. I'm not sure what did it but I removed the mods and revalidated the files (through Steam)- 2 replies

Hi all I'm playing PoE off a Macbook Pro (Mid 2012) with a 2.9GHz dual-core i7 processor: https://support.apple.com/kb/sp649?locale=en_US Less than a few minutes after I start playing, my Mac starts to get extremely hot. I have even turned the graphics to the lowest quality and reduced the resolution. I have cleaned out the fans (there was a massive dust bunny inside). I have also downloaded smcFan Control for Mac. I'm worried about overheating. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Are there any fixes? Thanks guys

I swear I searched for anything related to dwarves and bugs before this. Male dwarves appear to have a color mismatch between the body and head. Not really that intense of an issue since you play as little dude on the screen, but I thought I'd mention as: 1. It's still weird. 2. While wearing most armor renders the issue moot, I may want to steal Tekehu's clothes (he may not even mind). Or I may want to run a fancy chanter in a dancer getup. 3. Dwarves deserve love and attention too. Isn't that enough? And to echo this post, male dwarf heads 3 and 4 are not playing well with color at all. Many thanks.

Hi all, Loving the game so far, but am annoyed by small graphical error. When I run the game in less than full resolution (which my laptop can't manage), the cursor is covered by a black box whenever I move items in the inventory, or when a cutscene happens. Nothing earth-shattering, but breaks the immersion... The error only occurs in fullscreen mode, not windowed. Am unable to take a screenshot, since they come out like the attached image... Any ideas would be appreciated

Deadfire color scheme. I think there's some problem here, because... it doesn't correspond with theory of evolution. And what exactly do I mean by that? Human perception of beauty was determined by evolution. Essentially people prefer things that are good and healthy for them - in the specific environment they evolved in. And humans evolved in Africa tens of thousands years ago. Back then it looked more like contemporary Greece. Or California. The colors, green plants, water, sky, some sand and much sunlight. In comparison, Deadfire lighting is definitely darker. The same goes for UI. And sunlight is very important for humans. Lack of sunlight can even cause depression, like it's the case with autumn depression. Thus it's obvious evolution made humans prefer brighter environment. It draws people. It's just more pleasant to look at and be there. Of course it would be impossible to change all the graphics now but some adjustments to the lighting and overall color scheme are probably still a viable option. Like adjustments in the beginning of the game. It may be a good idea, because the beginning is the part that is the most often shown on Twitch and YT. --- And here's a short talk about evolution of perception of beauty on Ted Talks.

Hi There, I was starting up the backer beta this weekend to get my feet a little wet before the release happening in less than 10 days, and I saw that there was no longer an ultrawide resolution (3440x1440 in this case) to choose from the options menu? Are we going to see support for this resolution in the full release? POE1 and Tyranny both supported ultrawide very well. Thanks. DxDiag.txt

In this thread, I'm going to list all the graphics glitches I find. I tried doing individual threads, but there are too many, so perhaps one thread would be better. Feel free to post your own. In this one, as you can see, the Mercenary Priest is casting Consecrated Ground, while the Mercenary Fighter is preparing Into the Fray. However, the little icon showing the current action shows that the fighter is also casting Consecrated Ground

[Beta 4] Spiritshift graphical glitches
AndreaColombo posted a question in Backer Beta Bugs and Support
1. Load the attached saved game. 2. Observe that the moon godlike is a Liberator (Paladin / Druid.) 3. Enter combat with the lagufaeth at your right. 4. When combat starts, use the Paladin's Gilded Enmity ability. 5. Immediately thereafter, spiritshift to a form of your choosing (I used Cat.) Observe that the spiritshift form is not golden even though Gilded Enmity is in effect. Note that casting Gilded Enmity after you spiritshift gives you a golden spiritshift form. 6. Enter your inventory. Observe that you cannot see your spiritshift form in there. All you see is the godlike head with no body. 7. Either win the fight before Gilded Enmity expires or use it again so it is active when combat ends. Observe that once combat ends, your character stays golden until you quit and reload (haven't tried resting but it probably clears the effect as well.) Go to your inventory and observe that your paperdoll isn't golden. Shouldn't it match what you see in-game? Saved game: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ym3whqk2hhq71mb/Watcher%20%28Tikawara%29%20%28c6d44fe0-40a6-41d2-beb6-41096001c85a%29%20%28754608634%29.savegame?dl=0 -

I figured I'd post a Thread around 21/9 Monitors, for Users & Support purposes. Currently Good : Main Screen - Ok. In-Game - Ok. World Map - Ok. Boat Map - Ok. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Current Issues : Character Creation - Display. Level Up Screen - Display. Resting Scene - Left & Right Black Bands. Doesn't really show up well here but you can see the Left & Right Black Bars when the Scene triggers [Feels a little bit unatural, but it's a really minor issue. Parallax Layers - Display. As mentionned by Olauron Mor-Galad here : https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/95304-bug-0000021-backer-beta-release-20886-bb/?p=1969710 Crafting & Enchanting Scrolling Bars UI - Display. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Man, Deadfire looks Gorgeous on this Aspect Ratio ! [34" at 3440x1440] Feel free to add anything weird you encounter.

This post is less about trying to resolve an issue as it is just trying to raise awareness about some bugs and glitches that hopefully will be resolved either by or soon after launch. I will note each issue as I encountered them: 1) If a banner is within the radius of a fireball, the cloth texture gets warped an elongated for the duration of the fireball animation. The elongation gets more pronounced depending how close the banner is to the center of the fireball and the warping seems to always go toward the center. This effect does not seem to happen when other wizard area of effect spells are cast (such as web or chill fog,) and isn't triggered by explosions from grenades. 2) Spell caster action trays have a habit of shacking slightly when browsing spells both in and out of combat. The shacking stops if you select another character, regardless if that other character is also a spell caster, and is far more pronounced with Priests as opposed to Wizards. 3) At no point in the maps of Poko Kohara or Engwithan Waystation Levels One and Two was there a music transition for combat. Over the 1 hour of playtime, the same song looped endlessly. 4) The statue in the hidden room of Engwithan Waystaion Level One displays o text when you inspect it. However, the log will display the text "Character has discovered something interesting" and if you hit tab the text will appear. After you have hit tab, the inspect button will function as normal. 5) After reading the expedition log found on the body found near the entrance of Engwithan Waystaition Level Two, the game would not unpause when I hit space. It was only after I hit escape that the game resumed as normal, although it is important to note that hitting escape that time did not bring up the pause menu, 6) The Imps found after the body carrying the expedition log have two glitches. First, there are a few imps in the next room that have no line of sight to you but keep you in combat without actually leaving the room or taking any action against you. Additionally, when these imps are attacked they do not attack the party. These are the glitches I have found so far, please feel free to add with your experiences or expand this list if you find your own.
