  1. I loved the keep and the little events around managing it in NWN2. Voted stretch goal.
  2. Funcroc is alive! You had us worried there for a while mate
  3. I voted 6, but that is just some Icewind Dale nostalgia. It is really going to depend on your "recruitment pool" as to what is the sweet spot party wise.
  4. I thought all this verbose stuff these last few days was just Obsidian lamenting that they've been going around in circles and it's time to try something new, like without a publisher to hold them back and screw them over with words in contracts.
  5. Please no >_
  6. There is a gaming god Sword of Fargoal 2 Courtesy of Gamebanshee. One of my all time favourite 8 bit dungeon crawlers, next to Temple of Apshai. Numerous late nights and time that should have been spent studying was spent on exploring, fighting and dying.
  7. Because they don't have the rights to do anything D&D, Forgotten Realms, Planescape or otherwise? Brian Fargo had already secured the rights to Wasteland before he started his Kickstarter project, so he wouldn't have to pay a truckload of money for permission to use it and relinquish artistic control of the project to outside interests.
  8. Hmmm, backing up my Steam folder, but now I struggle to remember where my Kotor2 saves go. I wonder if the are in the Documents and Settings folder, Program Files (x86) etc. folder or my Steam folder?
  9. I had a similar experience to yours on Onderon. Every time I went to talk to whatshisname the pazaak player in the cantina to solve the murder mystery, it would CTD when finishing the conversation with the guard captain. I persevered and rebooted my pc, tried a few more times. In the 5th attempt (and a couple of different dialogue paths), it got past the dead spot. It then repeated the process every time I walked out of the cantina, CTD more often than not, but after leaving Onderon for the first time, it got "stable" again. Strange thing (didn't have any issues on Dantooine btw.).
  10. Sounds quite plausible too considering the Feargus quote.
  11. ...You want this, don't you? The hate is swelling in you now. Take your shopping trolley. Use it. I am unarmed. Run me down with it. Give in to your anger. With each passing moment you make yourself more my servant...
  12. My best guess is a new IP funded by Kickstarter. While it could be fantasy, I haven't seen anything that explicitly excludes sci-fi influences. Craters big enough to be landmarks usually implies either technology or divine intervention in scope (or ridiculously powerful magic, which I hope it isn't). .
  13. I think people gave it a cursory glance, got assured that it had nothing to do with Black Isle of old and promptly dismissed and forgot about it in some general gaming news thread. The fun stuff here at the moment is happening in the Project X forum
  14. Stop giving me hope! Was thinking along similar lines when the "200 years ago" was mentioned (the duration of the Great Crusade at the time of the heresy) and Lorgar and Magnus both being fascinated with books.
  15. His last twitter was from May this year... Where did he go?
  16. What worries me is the combination lf faux Gaelic and religious overtones which reminds me of Dragon Age: Origins. The setting was the thing I disliked most about that game
  17. This game better feature lots of crates or it's Project X in name only.
  18. They sure are behaving very "publisher like" at the moment...
  19. I find myself throwing out more and more stuff every annual cleaning too. Difference is, I'm a box fetishist, so I tend to hang on to the empty boxes that stuff came in and so the boxes tend to pile up. Why would anybody throw out a perfectly good box??? Hi
  20. From MCA's blog (here on these forums): "Still, it
  21. It's a gamble, but I sort of hope it might be one of those small steps towards self-publishing, if they could find investment fund for smaller games and reap the entirety of the profits themselves to finance more ambitious projects (provided the smaller games don't tank badly of course),
  22. Never really was a DS fan. Dammit, why can't somebody do something like Simon Bisley's "Slaine" as a CRPG?
  23. Seems like a safe assumption. Well, I've learned that assumptions tends to come back and bite me in the ass Also curious about the scope of the project. Is it "indie" sized, "aaa" sized, for mobile devices only, tonnes of questions besides IP.
