  1. Somebody shares my view Rather than "Gay and Lesbian Inclusiveness!" I would prefer to see it (orientation) rendered completely irrelevant.
  2. If souls have no mass, we could use them as currency?
  3. Worried that Tutankhamun will come back and sue them both for using the symbol? He'll more likely put a curse on them all
  4. ...a banking system run by malicious gnomes, lining their own pockets while playing caravan with their savings customers money in the hope of lining their pockets even further... *insert mustache twirling idle animation*
  5. I think it added to the challenge of STALKER, that everything had weight. You had to make some seriously hard choices, sometimes while being surrounded by enemies, what gear to use, what to keep for spares and what you would have to leave behind, despite being perfectly usable and you knew you were going to regret it later when your current gear breaks down. Rent a mule if you need to carry more gear (and gold coins) around. Plan B, start writing IOU's
  6. Slightly off topic, but Master of Orion 2 pulls a similar trick on you with its "pseudo" random bad luck events. The "seed" (for lack of better word) is planted several turns in advance, so if you reload a recent save, you still get the event. I like the idea of mystery items, where you have to deduce the less obvious effect yourself.
  7. Unfortunately that was amongst the things that *did* get reformatted before Steam got reinstalled (because I was resizing and merging some partitions anyway). I thought I was covered by backing up Steam through the Steam client and backing up my old C drive. Gorth gains 100xp.
  8. Now what was the name of that dedicated isometric engine that this guy kept supporting a thread for in the general gaming section... Fife?
  9. That bites. I did a whole back up/manual porting over of all the folders (not just the backup utility) and it worked ok - Steam just ran some quick checks for each game but I didn't have to reinstall them again. Did you back up the saves in the Documents folder? Also...only 3 more hours to a bazillion guns... Yeah, I still have the original C: drive, but all there is in the Documents and Settings folders for FO:NV is a list of installed DLC's, no saves. I feel a bit peevish over that, but hey, I get to replay the game. I would just have loved to try Lonesome Road and the last battle for Hoover Dam bit before replaying it
  10. All I can say is... Never thought about the middleware cost (apparently that's not a one off expense). Maybe that s part of what prevented Fargo from considering it. It sucks big time that they are going to depend on external tech and support though.
  11. Yeah, that was one of two times I was about to give up on the game. The second time I actually did give up, but that's a different story. The Little Lamplight designer should have his game designer license revoked.
  12. My botched backup of the Steam folder may also have eaten all my FO:NV saves... Looks like I get an "opportunity" to replay most of the game (and DLC's) without having completed the game yet (despite being 150+ hours into it).
  13. Well I wasn't expecting that. The world of Ferelden? If I remember DA:O correctly, Ferelden was a small insignificant country in the corner of the map of a setting called Thedas (The Dragon Age Setting)
  14. Just speaking for myself, not anybody else, but I think it's very unlikely. The rights to develop games for the franchise currently rests with Red Eagle Games (not sure if that's the exact name) and the only serious attempt they've made so far to realise a WoT game was a kickstarter for tactical combat games for mobile phones or some such. The cancelled the kickstarter 4 days prematurely having achieved nothing even remotely close to their target.
  15. Seems like the immaturity outweighs the maturity in responses by a scary degree... might be a good idea to take a timeout.
  16. Yes, it sounds bitter Maybe add some constructive feedback on the appropriate community boards? As far as I know, they make no secret of to do some degree being driven by fan feedback. It might make a difference for DA3. Edit: Let's try to stick to the topic. Bashing Bioware gets tiresome to listen to.
  17. Would that even work in the first place? I don't know It would probably result in a bulky elf or a tall dwarf.
  18. Yeah, Obsidian has gone through some rounds of layoffs too over the years. Never pleasant. Doesn't mean the people still working there aren't smart.
  19. I would bet a virtual six pack of beer that they are going to use Onyx for a number of reasons. It's internally developed and supported, it seems stable and they have experience with it and its tool sets already. Dungeon Siege III runs on it, as does the current in development South Park game. Two very different types of games, both visually and game mechanics wise. At least seen from the outside, it looks like an obvious choice.
  20. Thread pruned a bit. There is a subtle but important difference between being funny and just trying to be provocative.
  21. Yeah, lets not get started on member numbers... Sadly I missed the train. Used to lurk a lot on the Interplay forums the last year of BIS' existence, but I never saw the original BIS boards (other than on the internet wayback machine). When I had gathered enough courage to register, BIS got closed the day before, so I didn't bother.
  22. Moved to correct forum. I don't think you are alone in asking the question though.
  23. From the bold faced part on the Kickstarter page: "Project Eternity is an isometric, party-based RPG set in a new fantasy world developed by Obsidian Entertainment." Highlight by me. Sort of implies that the game is going to be isometric rather than acrobatic camera movements.
  24. Would a child of a "mixed marriage" elf and dwarf be considered a half-elf or a half-dwarf? I think it adds a lot of complications to the game without adding much. It makes sense in some strategy games (like the Paradox games or some old KOEI games) where dynasties are important. In a crpg it would most likely require you to give up adventuring, settle down, build a cottage and do honest work for a living.
