Lets Play From The Rear End of History We Shall Ride Forth
Gorth replied to Tigranes's topic in Computer and Console
It's "Life of Brian"!!! -
I don't know much about the Shadowrun universe, but that artwork sure gives off some Bladerunner vibes (which is a good thing)

Hmm... never was much of a Civ fan, but then I only ever tried the very first one. *Scratches chin, thinking*

Your tax money at work Batman's gliding method debunked "Four students from the University of Leicester have calculated that the superhero's method of using his cape to glide from tall buildings would result in him hitting the ground at life-threatening speeds." "The team found that if Batman jumped from a building 150 metres high, he could successfully glide a distance of about 350m. But he probably wouldn't survive the landing, due to the high speeds reached during his descent." "The students calculated that his impact with the ground would be equivalent to him being struck by a car travelling at 80km/h. One of the students, David Marshall, 22, said: 'If Batman wanted to survive the flight, he would definitely need a bigger cape.'" Batman, you are busted!

Saw a game called 'Endless Space' on Gamersgate. The screenshots looked interesting, but the 'blurb' describing the game was 50 lines of marketing drivel of the most stomach churning kind, oozing buzzwords without the faintest hint at what the game is about. Has anybody played it? Is it any good?

I really need to finish that game some day >_ Got stuck at a point where I think most of the side stuff is done, at least the stuff that doesn't irreversibly commit me to a side in the conflict. I think I know what I'm going to play tonight

Celebrated a bit on the Friday at work. Everybody having achieved their goals for annual growth and increase in revenue, it was time to find beer, wine and take away dinner to celebrate Happy Financial New Year Nothing fancy, but it's nice stopping a bit early at the end of the week and enjoy some beers and what have you with your colleagues. Not that we don't do that bit every Friday, but the nice lunch and dinner in the evening meant no hurry to get home. Of course, I'm still in the final stages of one major project and halfway through another one, so it will be a bit of a relief going on leave at the end of the month. I should probably start figuring out what's worth seeing/visiting while in Hong Kong.

It still sucks to be EDI though, as she is "tied" to the Normandy and presumably can't leave it (she said something to the effect of her borrowed body had to stay within a certain range of her core on the ship). Joker might start building a tent to live out the rest of his life in. This being space fantasy, they can of course put the Normandy back together and fly off towards the setting sun (I seem to remember seeing that in one of the youtube videos)

Iron Sky went into my shopping cart at Amazon today. 3rd party resellers only for some reason and couldn't find a DVD, only a blu-ray versions. Ah, what the heck?... I'll watch it soon enough

Looks like those theoretical physicists are getting all giddy with excitement at the moment.

Tunnel vision.

German Autobahn Been there, done that. Not owning the car, but just "letting go". It's awesome.

The setting sucked, but the game mechanics, skill system and their attempts at building a "honey comb" structure leaving you free to roam around between major locations as you desired was nice to the degree that it felt promising for the future. I.e. lots of potential mixed with a bit of nostalgia because it brought back memories of a time when they were more ambitious when it came to scope and level of detail.

I'm sure cats invented VTOL.

A classic Ferrari Testarossa. Everybody knows red ones go faster. Most stylish car ever designed.

Or they're going to play time games and make it irrelevant (takes place either before, or way after. Considering Stargazer, probably WAY after...) You are commander Sheppard of the Gorthurian alliance. your presence is requested on planet 317. Another Asari artifact has been found. This one is intact and has an energy signature. Just imagine if we could decode the content...

The yellow ending is my new favourite

Multiplayer expansion. I could have saved a bit of bandwidth then, never even tried pressing the multiplayer button... I wonder if I even have any saves close to the end. Will have to check when off from work.

That means it's out now? If so, maybe it's time to dust off that "Origin" client thing that has been gathering cobwebs for a few months. Edit: Seems like my Origin client is several versions behind... time to update that one first. Edit2: Found something called "Rebellion" too under the list of add-ons. No idea what it is, but it was free, so I grabbed it together with the extended thingy.

I actually liked the idea of no happy ending (happy endings are overrated anyway), but the execution was flawed. As for expectations, I just hope for a lot of elaboration on the details of places and people you met. If they all crash and burn, so be it, but at least show the player and don't make a mockery of the entire 'choice' gimmick.

Scorched Earth and Blubber Volley are some of the best shareware/freeware dos games ever

I would make a terrible pet "owner", but there are days where I miss having a cat around. I grew up with a cat in the house during my childhood and teenage years

Your point still stands, but is +5000 euros a month really 'middle class' where you are? Curious if people would really consider that typical in any way. Is that before or after tax? Makes a world of difference if you pay 38+ percent.
