German Autobahn Been there, done that. Not owning the car, but just "letting go". It's awesome.

The setting sucked, but the game mechanics, skill system and their attempts at building a "honey comb" structure leaving you free to roam around between major locations as you desired was nice to the degree that it felt promising for the future. I.e. lots of potential mixed with a bit of nostalgia because it brought back memories of a time when they were more ambitious when it came to scope and level of detail.

I'm sure cats invented VTOL.

Or they're going to play time games and make it irrelevant (takes place either before, or way after. Considering Stargazer, probably WAY after...) You are commander Sheppard of the Gorthurian alliance. your presence is requested on planet 317. Another Asari artifact has been found. This one is intact and has an energy signature. Just imagine if we could decode the content...

The yellow ending is my new favourite

Multiplayer expansion. I could have saved a bit of bandwidth then, never even tried pressing the multiplayer button... I wonder if I even have any saves close to the end. Will have to check when off from work.

That means it's out now? If so, maybe it's time to dust off that "Origin" client thing that has been gathering cobwebs for a few months. Edit: Seems like my Origin client is several versions behind... time to update that one first. Edit2: Found something called "Rebellion" too under the list of add-ons. No idea what it is, but it was free, so I grabbed it together with the extended thingy.

I actually liked the idea of no happy ending (happy endings are overrated anyway), but the execution was flawed. As for expectations, I just hope for a lot of elaboration on the details of places and people you met. If they all crash and burn, so be it, but at least show the player and don't make a mockery of the entire 'choice' gimmick.

Scorched Earth and Blubber Volley are some of the best shareware/freeware dos games ever

I would make a terrible pet "owner", but there are days where I miss having a cat around. I grew up with a cat in the house during my childhood and teenage years

Your point still stands, but is +5000 euros a month really 'middle class' where you are? Curious if people would really consider that typical in any way. Is that before or after tax? Makes a world of difference if you pay 38+ percent.

Did they change what the extended cut was going to include? All I read was "cutscenes" and "cinematics" to further explain the endings. So if that's the case, and there's no actual new game play for the player, why is the file so large? Are they giving us a 30-minute movie to explain away the silliness? Most likely a number of voiced cut scenes showing how things ended in various places of the galaxy. Sort of like the old Fallout slideshows, but with higher production values

That's why I have to stay away from Steam's website most of the time. I don't even dare checking exactly how many games I've bought that I haven't gotten around to play yet. Deus Ex (the latest one), GTA games, Skyrim, Saints Row 2+3 just to mention a few

Best toy? Lego. 70's kid here as in we had to use our imagination and creativity to entertain ourselves Never cared much for those episodic commercials that is supposed to shift units of plastic toys over the counter. I seem remember something called 'Zoids' which was patently silly.

Ah yes, remind me to punch somebody in the face next time they suggest stem cell research is unethical. They might not grow on trees, but I'm fairly sure in a decade or so, they grow in vats. Made to order. We take all major credit cards. Thumbs up for getting some quality time with your daughter and giving adversity the middle finger mate. I won't even pretend to understand what you are going through, but damn you go through it with style. Click on your profile/user name. There should be an 'Edit My Profile' button in the upper right corner of the browser.

Wouldn't the fine be tax deductable? It's a work related expense

Maybe they just have a rubberstamp with 2 million on it which they use on their budgets for new games? I somehow suspect a typo or a paragraph ended up in the wrong place. THQ isn't even the publisher, so why the heck would *they* need to shift 2 million units? Isn't advertising and PR the responsibility of the publisher? Maybe they get a performance bonus if they can get that many copies into peoples hands through their distribution channels?

Kind of dull I know, but my first 3 play-throughs of Kotor2 were as 'Gorth' I played it once as female too, but I don't remember the name. Something suitably monosyllabic. Started a few more games than actually finished though. Also all male. For Kotor1 it follows the same pattern, finished twice as a male 'Gorth' and once as a female.

The original was a bit like an exercise in strategy and cryptology I never got the hang of that one, but it didn't stop me from buying EUIII when I spotted it one day a long time ago walking past an EB Games store. Not sure if it was the interface or just the lack of introduction that didn't prepare you for the learning curve. I bought V2 not that long ago and just grabbed A House Divided during Paradox's current sale. It can line up in the queue of games that waits for me to eventually get around and play them

Heh, my first Paradox purchase was the original Victoria from the bargain bin in a store. Paid $5 for it. Took a long time to get the hang of it. The EU games are masterpieces of userfriendliness and polish compared to that first experience Never tried EU2 or earlier, nor the CK games before Tig's enthusiasm for CK2 rubbed off, so I don't know what they were like. Rule #1 when playing EUIII is to disable lucky nations. Otherwise you end up speaking French before you can say "Pardonnez Moi?" My first experience with EUIII (before the NA expansion) was quite positive. Only major turnoff was the very clunky merchant system (no auto send merchants to markets). Bought that one and EUIII: Rome as physical boxes at full price. Loved both despite their quirks. ...and yes, I also bought Magicka, Dungeon Defenders and Warlock - Master of the Arcane. The humour of the former two appeals to me and Warlock is a very neat little strategy/empire building game.

I haven't played MM since it was released for vanilla EU3 or some such a long time ago. At least I think it was the mod. In it's current form, I doubt it adds significantly to the game. Not saying it doesn't add value, but the game with expansions is already pretty darn good. Only thing from top of my head in really dire need of reworking is naval combat. Seriously, a sea battle taking 6 months of constant mutual shelling to resolve? I know artillery wasn't quite as good in the past, but seriously. Not sure where the Magicka hate comes from. The game is awesome. So is Victoria 2, Crusader Kings 2 and Hearts of Iron III.
