  1. http://www2.hardwareversand.de/articledetail.jsp?adp=0&aid=59305&agid=1601&apop=1 ? Pretty close. Supports my current CPU and everything else by the look of it. Unfortunately I'm more or less broke until around October, so I'm just daydreaming a bit
  2. What? On 2k's website, it's classified as 'shooter'
  3. *Sigh* at least they aren't shy about what they are doing. They already put it in the "shooter" department in their games line up. I think I'll to support the Carmageddon Kickstarter. At least they put serious effort into staying true to the original.
  4. An oldie but goodie. Entirely possible that is has been posted some previous year... Bergen Linux User Group implemented CPIP network communication following RFC 1149 back in 2001. 5. Yeah, they've gotten a bit slack this last decade Nokias impact on economy 2001 Back in 2001, they made up 3.3% of the GDP and 25% of Finlands export (not sure what "32 percent in relation to volume of exports" means).
  6. I don't know if I would call it "opportunistic" because it sounds so negative, but in some ways it is. The better question to ask is "why" they haven't done anything of note in recent years. Brian Fargo, Obsidian, probably a lot of small and medium sized developers will tell you pretty much the same thing as in the W2 kickstarter video about game pitching. Those with the money to fund it will tell you to change it into something completely unrelated to what you really want to do or outright forget about it
  7. I just couldn't imagine buying a ready made desktop pc Which reminds me, I really could use a new motherboard some day that supports 32gb of ram
  8. That would make Microsoft the de facto owner of Finland, wouldn't it?
  9. Still playing Warlock - Master of the Arcane... Eliminated my first opponent and made a dent on the second opponents domain. Lots of glee involved as he started out being a bully and making absurd demands (which I rejected), resulting in him declaring war on me on a most inconvenient time. Paynback's a bitch, now he's begging for mercy Also got rid of a duo of fire elementals that had made my life miserable for large parts of the game. Having discovered portals, I'm sort of wondering if I should go investigating what's on the other side of the doorways.
  10. ...all they need now is the local Star Trek convention boarding the carriage
  11. Somebody needs to tell that marketing guy that "South Park: The Game" is called "South Park: The Stick of Truth".
  12. I wonder how close/far from the mark the NPD sales figures were. 330000 sold copies (for pc and consoles combined) doesn't sound like a lot for the level of ambition and investment put into the game..
  13. I can recommend trying out the demo. Unlike some games, this one gives a fair indication of what to expect. I can't find a demo in my usual places, where do you get a demo? I downloaded it from Steam. That was before the game got released. It's still there though http://store.steampowered.com/app/203630/?snr=1_7_suggest__13
  14. The Hexagon? Aka, 'Hex'? Aka the holy symbol of true wargamers
  15. I thought there was 3 main categories of Anime... something with big robots, something with pedophile fanservice and the last category which features a lot of tentacles. Sometimes there are "crossover" franchises where you have two or more categories present. But then, the only Anime I saw from start to finish was probably Ghost in a Shell and I remember seeing most parts of a movie called 'Akira' many years ago. Just not my thing. Couldn't imagine it making interesting (for a western mindset) settings for rpgs. As a completely cultural stereotype, the Japanes comes across as having an obsession with dolls and robots, both in art and particularly in science, where they regularly feature in the heaedlines with new technological advances.

  17. Crossing fingers and hoping for expansions. Complexity is probably a matter of taste. Like Master of Orion 2, there is a "sweet spot" where it offers details, yet doesn't drown you in micromanagement. So far, I'm having fun balancing my 3 main resources, food (I keep thinking of "Madagascar" when I see the little steak icon), money and mana. It makes it challenging to decide how you are going to expand your cities, should you add more food production, money production or something that converts one resource into another. How much is it going to keep costing me in upkeep? Build too many regiments for a standing army and your coffers starts drying up and your population shrinks. Many little details to keep an eye out for, so for me and myself, detail is just about right. I'm just about to take my first enemy player (A.I.) capital. Those things are solid, even when using siege engines. I keep forgetting that I have "stay in play" spells that increases my units effectivity. Need to keep an eye on my research. If I want more detail, I'll go play 'War in the Pacific' or 'War in Russia'
  18. I don't know about the rest, but I'm fairly sure the Infinity Engine was licensed from Bioware back then and as such was and still is the property of Bioware (minus whatever tweaks/changes Black Isle did to it). Which means, any disclosure of engine design/source would likely only happen at Biowares discretion.
  19. As a perpetual single, I find this entire marriage/civil union institution disgusting and discriminating and should abolished altogether in the name of freedom and equality. Just sayin'
  20. Luckily for me, I'm completely unaffected by the D3 "obsession". Never cared much the the entire genre of games. I can in a pinch be bothered to play a level or two of Zombie Shooter or Alien Shooter 2 Still playing Warlock - Master of The Arcane. Still getting my butt handed to me by the damn elementals. Tried gangbanging one, sacrificing a lot of peasanst on the altar of martial success just to see the damn thing reduced to 2hp and then turn tail and flee back through it's own lines of cannon fodder. Since they heal at an alarming rate, it was full strength a few turns later when it came back and broke my siege of the "provicial capital". I also haven't gotten the hang of amphibious assaults yet, getting my troops shot up piecemeal because of failed coordination.
  21. I still have the box lying around somewhere... never really got into the game.
  22. This country has a severe shortage of Gruy
  23. I only tried the Steam demo, but yes. "Do not attempt to play Binary Domain without a controller. If you don
  24. I'm sure the guy who designed those things have some Freudian issues...
  25. Not much insight I'm afraid. Mandatory question, have you installed the latest drivers for the x1900 (not exactly the newest kid on the block, but I think drivers might still have been updated in recent years). What OS version and the rest of the key hardware specs (memory etc.)?
