Do someone think about 2 stamina bars? first is 'short term' stamina that is exhausted by using abilities and getting hit, second should be 'daily stamina'. Each character will have 'Daily stamina' degen during lets say 24h ingame time from 100% to 0% and then he need to rest. Also maximum 'short term' stamina cant be greater then actual 'daily stamina'. And character cant rest unlest 'Daily stamina' is under 50% now we dont have/cant spam resting but its still there is reason to rest because maximum stamina is still lowering and then hindering amount of spells/abilities which can be cast. Also its quite simple and easy to understand and I think quite easy to implement. Just idea but I would like to hear your opinions on it.

I was thinking about spell/abilities duration now when we have more insight into classses and it really bothers me. in DnD all spellcasting classes have spell book and number of memorised spells per day. I think now that all classes have some kind of spells we will not see this in game anymore. It doesnt make too much sense for fighter to be able to do ''input random ability'' only once per day. So what will be new replacement system? Cooldowns? If so then we will have quite large amount of abilities at disposal any time. In this case i think that short term buffs need to be extremly strong and long term ones quite weak. In DnD 3.5 there was a lot of mage spells that last few rounds/seconds which end up totaly useless. Who would cast +1 weapon for 10 seconds? Its dangerous (attacks of oportunity, time consuming and without any proper reward) much better is to cast another magic missile. At least I never used these short term buffs as there is not enough time to properly micro in real time with 6 characters unless its pause/play each second of encounter

OMG I bought NWN 2 for that price alone last month

The system is legal, so the point is moot. The logic "if something ends up where it shouldn't" is bizarre. There is no guarantee that a surgeon won't accidentally sew up a scalpel in your abdomen. There is no guarantee that a policeman won't confuse you for a suspect and detain you. There's no guarantee that you won't get ran over by a car next time you cross the road. See the pattern? But if surgeon or policmen do something wrong he is controlled and will be punished, who control these agencies? + System is maybe legal in US, noone asked me or EU if we are ok with it. I starting to think that you are that type of american who thinks America is tha best and can do whatever you guys want

I live in a socialist paradise remember.. Every student in Denmark who's 18+ and doesn't live with their parent gets 1500$ every month for a maximum of 6 years. and there's no tuition either, so money is not really a problem. Lol its 3.375 x minimal salary in my country. I working for 4 years in IT and dont have such salary xD and I am from EU! Now I know where our money goes

Why? I can tell same if you are protecting PRISM but I try to not insult people as much as possible and mainly I dont force them my view of world (as opposed what PRISM actually do)

well If you think that spiing on me will help with overpopulation you are fool, and its not first time, all great empires of history were ''globalizations' and climate changes were there from beginning of time. And you know what? most of problems were 'fixed' by some horrific war (especialy good way how to deal with overpopulation) all of this have nothing to do with giving up my privacy. We in Europe still have some degreee of democracy so dont apply American fascistic manners on me, thanks. If I have choise 1) never allow me to enter America territory or 2) let us spy on you I would definetly skip trip to US And for record, I dont have facebook, I dont have twitter, I dont have blog, Internet was developed in Germany as far as I know. And yes I got Google email even I dont want to (company email) and my personal email is not on google. I dont use my real name on any internet page I know of

So you mean when I'm leaving my house and entering a crowded street I'm altering my behaviour to the form desired by society? Cool, totally didn't know that before. Sarcasm aside, I think you've confused Bentham with Foucault, the designer of the Panopticon and the developer of the panopticism theory. Also, 1984 is not really relevant because there is no ubiquitous Thought Police. The key difference is that Miniluv could and did monitor everyone, everywhere, at every point of their lives. Our intelligence agencies do not and cannot do that. Yet

Lol, and you subscribed to 200-year-old idea? Time is changing, the world is not the same since there's Internet and there are billions of humans today. There's not enough room for everybody if they all want to live like Americans. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_overpopulation) And you based your judgment on speculative fiction such as 1984? That's as reliable as basing your judgment from the Bible. I am not American, I dont want to live as American, yet I am spied by Americans. There is saying: These who dont learn from the past are doomed to follow same mistakes. (Say hello to WW3 - ultimate survival) To be honest replying to something like that is little bit insulting. If you like beiing spied, good for me, but dont apply it on me please, go and by XBox - new in-house all time online camera in your living room. Rejoice everyone!

For all who supports PRISM They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety. Benjamin Franklin and I am not even US citizen hah Also go and read Orwell

I am for equal rights for everyone BUT if 90% of backers are man (my guess) , I dont see why 50% of game should be focused around what womens (and White Knights) want. But I am ok if there will be no boobs around, we still have internets for porn right? little offtopic I laughted my ass of when EU decide that there will be norm that 50% of manager positions in companies have to be womens. Can you imagine it? That you as guy work your ass off for many years to gain your position and then some idiot in parlament decide that you have to ocupy positions in company by incopetent workers just because some feminist **** cant find job (probably because she can only talk trash and become politic) Sorry for my rubish english -
Thanks exo, I will keep it in mind, but right now I am going through SoZ so it will take time when I will return to OC or MoTB progress update - I got few levels and complete all goblin quests. So far most ass kicking is my fighterm but what troubles me that he got hit a lot even with AC25. I skipped Favoured soul as I was not sure if I need cha or wis and take druid instead. My mage is pretty decent as well, I am now thinking if go for red wizard or candlkeep guy. Also any hints how to progress ranger/rouge? its now 3/3 and seems decent I give him archery style. Thanks for all tips guys

Update #55: Vertical Slice Update
Chilloutman replied to Darren Monahan's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Announcements & News
While I like BG feel from concept what I dont like is how 'magic power' starting to be represented by purple/pink color. I hated it on D3 and I hate in in every game which does it. I know magic missile was pink in BG as well but I think in these days everything except elemental magic is 'Arcane pink'. It looks like some source of energy, why its not blue/white electric? yellow/white source of power like heat? black hole? I notice it on mage artwork with snakes - purple. Why?. I dont mind it for some spells but I cant play caster which every second spell is purple (looking at you GW2) I may be alone in this, but I still have to get it out On other note good job Obs, doing fantastic work, hope we will see few seconds from gameplay soon. peace- 140 replies

Hello everyone, So i got hunger for some rpg when waiting for P:E. And then I realise I actualy never complete any campaign in NWN 2. And before I start I would like to hear some suggestion on how to play it. Are there some good mods which are not overpowered? For example ranger is my favorite class but he quite suck in original NWN2 as far as I remember (but i didnt complete game because some bug). Also what party you recommend for SoZ? I remember that I die quite quickly in SoZ. Any tips or hints are welcome. peace Dude

Update #52: Monk!
Chilloutman replied to Darren Monahan's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Announcements & News
I am little tired of all these whimpers. I see 2 groups of people when it comes down to monk 1. European Monk lovers Old hermit 2. Asian Monk Lovers kung-fu master So lets look if wiki can enlighten us: The term monk is generic and in some religious or philosophical traditions it therefore may be considered interchangeable with other terms such as ascetic. However, being generic, it is not interchangeable with terms that denote particular kinds of monk, such as friar, cenobite, hermit, anchorite, hesychast, solitary Basic concept is easy - Do something (mostly sacrificing) in your life to get to heaven, find Nirvana, rebirth.. whatever. European monks try find salvation and heaven through rejecting spoils of mortal world and enduring pain and poor life, Eastern monks through physical and psychical training. European monks were praying, eastern monks were meditating. Both lived in monastery. So if you look on it they are completely same. Imagine mage who like summoning spells and other who practise more offensives spell school. They are still both mage. IF European monk live in Asia he can learn kung-fu and if Asian monk live in Europe he can learn religious teaching. Still they are monks because what makes monk monk is that he devote his life to some greater goal (religious or philosophical) I think that Wound( enduring pain) class ability capturing it nicely for both groups, they just dont understand it. Where I see what European Monk lovers miss is that Wound should feed both physical and psychical (spell casting) feats Peace Dude- 242 replies

Design a monster.
Chilloutman replied to JFSOCC's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Hejkal (Howler) Hejkal is almost 2 meters tall furry humanoid living in forested areas on trees like monkey. By looks he is cross between human and gorilla with long fur. During day he is quite shy creature running away on sight. At night these creatures are drawn closer to civilization enjoying their wicked fun. They close to roads or pathways waiting for any foolish person wandering at nights. When they see their prey they start howling and barking high in trees and insisting fear into poor souls heart. Mostly person starts to run away, exhausting himself and often get lost in forest. Once prey is weak enough, Hejkal swoop from hight of trees jumping on his prey and mostly killing it instantly. On ground, Hejkal is bit clumsy so if person survive first brutal strike they have chance to run away or try to fight Hejkal. Hejkal is mostly solitary creature attacking only lone persons but there are records of bands of these creatures terrorizing far-off villages cutting contact with rest of country as noone was able to get out if travel takes longer than day. Atributes: Strong, Slow movement, Fast attacks, Low health Abilities: Howl - Fear person Leaping strike - Jump from trees on pray dealing heavy damage, knocking it on ground -
Nonsense, even in Czech (almost polish) we have word for ranger aka woodprotector - Hajny. Its the guy who keep forest (roads) save for travelers and keep eye on animals in his territory so there is plenty if some local Lord want to go hunting. I dont see problem with Ranger name at all. Now lets talk about that Aragorn thing: Yes he doesnt have 2 weapons - it doens't mean that no other ranger cant specialise in this type of fighting If I recall correctly he got great knoweladge about forest fauna and flora ( he saved that small hobbit with some leaves) He knows how to camp in wilderness to not attract too much attention He can fast travel through forest because he knows them well Even if I dont recall him using bow, it doenst mean that he cant Now about hunter its guy who goes to forest to hunt down animals for profit/sport/food he use bow and lay traps thats it So even that ranger can be hunter doesnt mean that all hunters are rangers, anyone who can shoot bow on animal is considered hunter. With this attidue we would not have mages but cooks or schoolars because well they read books or cook strange things aka potions/regents/whatever Now Classes vs Tolkien If we keep that anatology that D&D took classes from there then we would have: Aragorn - Ranger/Fighter Gandlaf - mage everyone else - very bad to good fighter So I dont think that classes are so heavily influenced by it. Standard classes are bards, priest/cleric, druids, thiefs. and some new ones like barbarians, monks etc..... to sum it up: Leave RANGER be and go hunting yourself

Sure, they will not be filthy rich and yes steam ofcourse take some percentage for sales but I want to point out that even with 100K sold copies there is still a profit. But I think that all cash from kickstarter goes to development. They would create that game even if we put only 1M into it. Where do you think all those money goes? (yeah I know even kickstarter take some percentage from it)
