Hey there, are there any new informations about the little but nasty problem concerning that nifty Scavenger Hunt and GOG.com users? I know that there was an older comment from a few weeks ago but since then there was silence. Just asking because the game launch is tomorrow and comming from fig I chose the GOG key over the Steam key some time ago....

Back when Pillars of Eternity was released on GOG.com there were no upgrade paths to higher tier edition - unlike on Steam. However, we have been promised this: Source: https://www.gog.com/news/release_pillars_of_eternity Well, no such thing was ever introduced. Now there's the new Definitive Edition which includes all extras of the Royal Edition. As I'm a big fan of Obsidian's work and I'm one of those customers who bought one of the lesser editions of the game I would have loved to upgrade to the Royal Edition at some point but we never got those upgrade options. I'm very disappointed that this situation hasn't changed with the new Definitive Edition. Again GOG users cannot upgrade to a better version of the game without buying a full version of the game again. It's pissing some people off over at GOG and I think rightfully so. Obsidian, can you get in touch with GOG staff and work something out? This situation creates more frustration than it should be. Edit: I'm not the only one who feels this way, just take a look at the PoE DE release thread at GOG.com: https://www.gog.com/forum/general/release_pillars_of_eternity_definitive_edition_63164/page1

I prepurchased the Champion Edition on GOG.com with the understanding that there would be upgrade options at a later time to the higher tiered editions. Nearly a year later the promised upgrade options are still not available despite availability on Steam. My intention was to buy the game, and a month or so later to buy the Royal upgrade. But that has not materialized yet and my question is: What gives? Why are you keeping money out of your own pocket? I am not the only person on GOG.com who wanted to upgrade their purchase, was told it would be an option, and then got stuck waiting. I'm not spending another $60 (Champion Edition) or $90 (Royal Edition) for a game I already paid $45 for. So What gives? If I read it right, Steam has the upgrade pack options, so why screw over the GOG crowd? Is it because we are fewer in number? I don't understand the mentality. Is it too hard to release upgrade options (for out of game goodies at that) for a game on the GOG platform? What is going on here? Thanks for your time.

My "News" in the top right corner is still only reporting that Patch 3.0 is out (2/16/2016), even though I'm running 3.02.1008 PX1 PX2. I purchased it through GOG.com and installed it manually (not through GOG Galaxy). I can just turn off the "News" of course, but that defeats the purpose and I would like to be informed of actual updates. Is there anything I can do to get this fixed/updated? I have uninstalled and removed all folders/files/entries I could find, reinstalled, and update is still showing as the older 3.0. Thanks for any help

After installing the latest Pillars of Eternity (PoE) verion 2.03 [Windows installer, NOT GoG Galaxy!], I have been getting the following error on launch. ***** Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library ------------------------------------------------ Runtime Error! Program: This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an ususual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information. ***** I have tried to resolve this issue and found the following: By uninstalling Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 Redistibutable, both (x64) and (x86), I can get PoE to work. It starts and runs fine. When reinstalling Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 Redistibutable (needed for other games) the Runtime Error will reoccur without fail. I will also contact GoG.com support with this problem. Attached are the 'output_log' and the 'DxDiag'. Thank you for your help. output_log.txt DxDiag.txt

Game Crashes and other Bugs
Twinsen posted a question in Pillars of Eternity: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
I have just finished the game and I found a number of really annoying bugs and I am also experiencing game crashes occasionally. Since I started the game with an earlier game version, I am not going to post the bugs just yet, the game crashes however occur when I launch the game therefore I believe that issue is not related to the savegames. I use the GOG Galaxy client. I have attached the output logs of the crashes below and my system information. I hope everything is there that is required. I will post the bugs too later on. As I wrote above the crashes occur when I try to launch the game. output_log.txt output_log.txt output_log.txt output_log.txt output_log.txt output_log.txt DxDiag.txt -
For those of you who have Pillars of Eternity tiers that come with Wasteland 2 and you haven't already redeemed your key for use on Steam, it's now available on GOG.com! To redeem your Wasteland 2 for GOG.com, visit the Products tab in your Account Profile, click on Wasteland 2, and click on Choose Platform. If you don't see this option there and you definitely have a confirmed order with the $165 Digital Collector's Edition reward tier or higher, please contact us via the Contact page on the Eternity site.

Start of old thread End of old thread Well, I still got 20 or so games on my wish list. I wonder if they ever considered expanding into pre-PC gaming and offer games for emulators...
