  1. 'Eternity: Broken Soul(s)' sounds quite nice
  2. I voted for 'Challenge'. When I was kid, whole 'real' world was same as fantasy world. I didnt knew all the physics and stuff. Now I am in same world when playing fantasy game. example: When I was kid I was afraid after dark in my room, because my imagination create monsters etc which may be jumping out of closet. Today when I grew up I know that science and my experience proove that its not going to happen. But when playing fantasy game am I again not sure about it and it feels great. Cheers
  3. There's nothing final about Ability progression/selection. Right now we're implementing them as a fixed order progression. That may change for one or more classes depending on how it feels. There's nothing that necessitates gaining them in a strict order. Wait, what do you mean by fixed order progression? Like its set that all fighters get cleave(or whatever else) on 4th level?
  4. 1) I am quite torn around this, it seems it may be fun but I have to see it with my own eyes working. Bad implementatin will mean rest spawn or devils tool 2) same as above 3) well I can live with that, it was not much issue for me in IE games 4) as point 1 5) doesnt seems so radical, but I also sometimes like to farm XP 6) this I am not sure about how they mean it. I for exaple like if I can make cleric good frontline fighter even that it was suposed to be more healing/buffing bot. Whilst here, in this thread, you say: Am I misunderstanding something? Anyways... I don't really have no concerns ^^ where you can see what they are actually aiming for: yeah, i would add where you can see what they are actually aiming for: by my opinion and from what I read so far Sorry, didnt want to confuse or be too radical. English is not my native language. And you are nitpicking
  5. Hello everyone, I dont want to be somehow negative and I really love most things presented to us so far. But there are few things which were announced in updates and I am dissapointed by them. I am curios if someone else have similiar feelings about some features which were uncovered. Ofcourse not all is set in stone and maybe there will be changes to these, so lets talk about it and see if we can decide Obs guys to consider rework/polishing of these. Enough blabling, my 3 issues so far: 1) Character attributes - I really not like 'Power' stat etc. I would like more real physical/psychical stats. Not going to explain it as there were a lot of posts around this: http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/64157-josh-sawyer-reveals-some-information-about-project-eternitys-attribute-scores/?p=1354290 here is link where you can see what they are actualy aiming for: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Attribute 2) World map - In one of latest updates was confirmed that there will be travel system as in BG. It was ok system but after playing NWN2 SoZ, Fallout 1,2 and Arcanum I really like explorable world map, especially because I love ranger class and it always seems gimped when core advantages of this class are not usefull in game 3) I dont like pink/purple concept arts for magic - dont hate me for this As I already state, I love P:E so far and really looking forward to it. But these are forums for discussion, not fansite of Justing Bieber so lets talk a little constructive. Also share with us your own concerns if you got any. Cheers, Chiloutman
  6. Well this is already year and half from start, this rate we will have Eternity at home sooner than next update here, just saying..
  7. Only really good think from SoZ was overland map and exploration + Ranger/Druid skill finally have some impact but it was already confirmed that we are not getting overland map exploration (I am soo sad) Everyone was talking about font size in that update, I was so sad that nooone is bother that we will miss that feature
  8. I am not huge fan of ranged combat but i will put some comments here: 1. people here take too much realism into this. We can cast fireballs but we cant create volley of arrows? Its still game with soul based magic, even warriors will be casting spells 2. environment(line of sight) should be definetely taken into account (but I fear it will not as far as I am reading updates) - this was big problem in all infinity engine games 3. This game will have real time combat, most people dont want micro manage one character to hit one arrow, they have to be reliable 4. in BG1 bows were overpowered because can oneshot from beggining - well you oneshot wolf with two handed sword as well I dont see problem here 5. Shields should be taken more into play but this was there from BG1 where tower shield have +4 bonus against ranged attacks 6. Yes to friendly fire, that will force player to move archer into meaningfull positions 7. Size and speed of opponent should matter (this was partialy balanced by AC in IE games) Overall - please dont gimp archers to something noone wants because meele weapons are superior in all situations
  9. Include LAN support and forget always online requirement and I will start be mildly interested....
  10. Great update and I love most parts but I am little sad about one thing: I was hoping for more Fallout/Arcanum/SoZ world map to promote non-combat skills for Ranger and Druid. I like much more exploring World Map then just clicking on icon of place to magically appear there. Well one can't have all dreams fullfiled in one game apparently Anyway keep up the good work, all seems very promising
  11. Give me tribal with bone of his father stuck in nose which I can put into powerarmor with supersladge hammer and let him loose wild on jet and I will be happy
  12. I try to speak of what I consider an ideal. Baldur's Gate and IWD were not ideal. But they made their audience happy, me included. And that's absolutely fair. But I also remember that I had to cheat my way through every final boss encounter in the series of BG for one reason or another. I remember tagging Katanas. I remember struggling to find a good club for Jaheira. I remember that when I fought Melissan, only one person in the group had a weapon that could hit her. I remember the Golems in D'arnise Keep, I figured out they required special damage types to beat. I savescummed for hours just trying to figure it out and couldn't. So I looked it up online. I remember the guy outside of Friendly Arm who could one shot you as a mage. I don't think a single one of these things made the game a more enjoyable experience for me. But you still remember them? Then I think that it was especialy good. I have played ME 2 years back and honestly didnt remember much of it, because there was no chalange in it. And just for note, there is now katana in BG1 (even in weapon tag skills) and there is scimitar only with expansion installed if I am correct.
  13. Hmm silence for almost 2 months, are you ok Tigraness?
  14. Says who? That sounds like the competitive gamer who does that. I always restart cRPG's multiple times to try out multiple character types before I settle on one. Sounds to me like PE is being designed as a system which stops players from failing. And most modern gamers who play "old-school" RPGs always then go and blame the system if they fail, instead of trying to master the system. Yes, this sounds wonderful exactly as long as you're in a phase of your life when you can afford dumping hours into familiarizing yourself with the system instead of playing the mother****ing game. For anybody else who doesn't have nearly unlimited free time, it's a lot less attractive. While I agree with you that older you are, less time you have. If you dont have time dont force others same logics. You can always play some fast game of CS or any other mainstream friendly game. BUT its single player game and you can learn it as long as you want and I think complexity add 'fun' for people who like to think, Its same like if you say that: Noone playing chess these days, its too coplex just stick to checkers.
  15. just copy/paste from another thread about that: Hmm, I am not sure if I understand it correctly if there will be one stat ''power'' which affects how powerfull wizard spell is and same stat determine how powerfull blow can fighter done I dont like it. Its good system and I know it works quite well for fast paced combat mechanics but for top down view RPG it feels... to simplistic? I think they going for this: http://wiki.guildwar...mary_attributes I would much more like if they can pick SPECIAL or DnD system and improve it. I like when my character have some 'real' characteristics. I know where problem with these system is but I see clearly how to improve it without scraping it completely. Common example is fighter. 18Str/3int vs 14str/15int to make 15int matter, simply add abilities which rely on that skill. For example feat (can be ability) combat expertise (add int bonus to AC) - make it scale with int modifier and now you have good stat for your tank fighter. And make somehow equal number of abilities which rely on each stat and there will be no useless attribute at all. another example: wizard 8str/18int vs 15str/15int spell Nethersword - mage enchant weapon in his hand drawing power from his soul for limited number of attacks. number of attacks = int modifier, bonus damage 1.5x str modifier now you have somehow balanced spell, but 15str mage can use bigger weapon and some armor as well Problem was not with bad primary attributes, problem was with lack of abilities relying on them. my 2 cents

  17. This gives me creeps in connection with your new signature picture There are things like antidotes and spells cure poison or restoration. Maybe even some immunity spells. But yeah, spiders are MOSTLY pretty generic, but dont loose hopes
  18. you guys know that poll is public right? just saying
  19. Well my point is that many spell effects start be affected by elemental mantra - its fire based spell? ofc orange/red effects, water/ice? - blue/white effect, air/lightning - white/blue/pink (arcanum have yellow!), earth - green/brown not elemental? - pink/purple I dont mind magic missile is pink, but I dont like still same boring concept of purple/pink 'Magic energy'. Magic fire can be green, or blue. And not all fire spells have to be orange. Not all mind affecting spells should create any glowing pink aura around head of victim. It breaks immersion for me. And from what I seen so far there are concept arts which show magic/casting as producing purple light - just not fan of it. On the other hand, I must say I am very pleased with that outdoor screenshots around river. that map looks very cool. Also nice to see that a lot of people think that I am idiot
  20. Hello everyone, I know I am boring that I bother with such trivial topic but it really bothers me and I would like to know if I am idiot or anyone else feels same on this topic as me. I generaly doesnt have anything against purple/pink colors but in recent years and games developed I seen raising popularity for this colors and I have to say its not my cup of the tea. Whenever I see it I imediately connect it to cartoon art style. We actually didnt seen it used anywhere in game but we have few artworks which use it extensively. I would like to hear your opinions on that subject artworks: Aloth: http://hydra-images.cursecdn.com/eternity.gamepedia.com/5/50/Aloth.png Animat: http://hydra-images.cursecdn.com/eternity.gamepedia.com/8/8a/Animat.jpg Environment: http://media.obsidian.net/eternity/media/updates/0055/pe-dungeon-concept.1000.jpg examples: http://cubehero.deviantart.com/art/WoW-Draenei-Mage-138971290 Diablo 3 vs Diablo 1 http://westkarana.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/Diablo-III-2012-07-08-22-57-50-97.jpg http://dungeony.rpghry.cz/pics/diablo1_1.jpg Thanks for all comments and be polite (especially to me )
  21. Still require Origin? if so than thanks but no
  22. I am suprised how many people here are on goverment side in this. Well we all have right to have their own opinions - for now. What bothers me is - Why its so big problem that he goes public with it if its legal to do so (PRISM is legal)? Maybe problem is that government is lying to own people? or that goverment is doing something what noone have right to vote for? How many politicans would go into elections and tell people that their program is to spy on them? None
  23. Already told it and will tell it again, no more pink/purple please I know I am nitpicking.... On the other hand, is that armor we already seen on that nature god-touched artwork?
