Well if they complete P:E in time they are on 0 profit (but we keep their families feed up for year and half) and anything they sell afterward is just pure profit. No middleman helps quite a lot. If they manage to get it on steam then I am quite sure they can make some nice profit from it. Even 100K sold copies is quite nice buck if you dont have producer who would eat it all for marketing bullsh*ts 100K*40= 4M - more than we fund on kickstarter and I think its not too fantastic number of sold copies - I would be quite happy if I have 200% refund of invested money There are studios with producers who sells milions of copies and still cry that its not enough (well keeping marketing and DVD production guys alive actually cost a lot when I look on it)

Well I cant argue if you put EA - Singleplayer game with online requirement vs Valve multiplayer game with online requirement. We can at least agree that we disagree . The biggest difference is that I think that Simcity is SP game with some Social MP which is not essential for game itself and you opinion is that it is MP only game (even MMO maybe if you compare it to WoW?).
-
Good for you guys, few more projects like P:E and you will be disgustingly rich. Also love your UO avatar.
-
Well its MP game without single player so I can see why you have to. I dont whine that GW2 are not playable offline as well. But are you sure? I recall playing it on some lanparty without internet access... Counter-strike as well and they are similiar as far as I recall...
-
Can you please specify which steam game require to be online to play? Also, Simcity never was designed as multiplayer game(well all before the last one). Last one have only some minor social features and as some already show doesnt need to be online to play offline if they wish. But still its their product and who dont like it dont have to buy it (like myself). Then they should not be shocked when their selling numbers will drop down more...

Well I still dont know what was so bad about Datadisks. I mean I was completely fine with Lord of destruction Datadisk for D2. It got new Act, 2 new classes and tons of new items/game mechanics. And I just paid once for it. I mean I know why its important for developers to gain more cash for next project so they work on their old one (no need for new engine, mostly content related) and gain more cash for next project. EA doesnt care about funding next project, its all about money making. It will never expand IP (intentionaly) or bring anything valuable for its price. I mean I am ok buying game and know that there will maybe be datadisk. But buying game and knowing that I am buying half of the product already and second half will be delivered in 10 DLC. and 2 DLC togather have same value as Datadisk for D2.... not my cup of tea. I still want to play through ME1-3 but I am waiting for some Megaedition with all DLCs and without Origin. Until that I am not spending a single penny on EA games.

Let's Play: Baldur's Gate Trilogy - Ch26 (Mae'Var)
Chilloutman replied to Tigranes's topic in Computer and Console
I must admit I am drooling through this topic very often at work. maybe you should make some ETA counter to next update to save my boss some cash -
Well ME and DA still come from EA, so we don't want to deny ourselves access to those games do we? Well after DA1 and ME1 I thought I will follow these series. But then even before DA2 come out I just rezisted to their awesome Origin system and will never buy anything requiring it. (too bad I kinda liked BF3). I still a little hoping for some Megabox for ME with all 3 games and all DLCs without origin and then I will consider putting money into it. Until then, they can choke on that money from DLCs

Uncle Feargus talks working on Fallout again
Chilloutman replied to WorstUsernameEver's topic in Obsidian General
I... again, what? Aside from the fact that the original Wasteland had blob-like combat (think The Bard's Tale but with guns) and put a heavy emphasis on skill usage (it's where Fallout took it, after all), do you seriously consider these two criteria: 1) it's turn-based; 2) you use a party; as enough to say a game is striving to be more like Jagged Alliance rather than an RPG? If so, why? No problem is with lack of conversation options, no social skills, minimal amount of 'Quests', High emphasis on combat etc. I dont know about what we are arguing here. For me its not RPG enough. You can have different view. And well, its like, your, opinion, man. -

From what I seen it looks much more like Fallout Tactics, but I see that you can use some options for conversation. Still not RPG enough for me (I am not telling it would be bad game tho) -

Chilloutman replied to WorstUsernameEver's topic in Obsidian General
What? Neither of the games really fits that definition. Like really? ok JA is not post-apo but rest? both are tunr based, both are tactical squad game. What is not fitting in this description? Or are you trying to be smart**s here? -

Chilloutman replied to WorstUsernameEver's topic in Obsidian General
I don't think that's up to them. Besides, I don't see anything bad about first-person camera Fallout. We're going to have Wasteland 2 for isometric postapo (even though not taking place in the awesome Fallout universe). Besides, any Fallout by Obsidian will most likely be better than anything Bethesda could ever come up with. Problem with Wasteland is that its not RPG but more like Jagged aliance, tactical squad turn based action game set in post-apo world. And well first person view is IMO horrible for RPGs as player can't see progress of his characters under command and greatly limit some classical RPG elements (AoE tageting, player can control only one character, minimal tactical overview. too fast paced combat etc.) But I know there is a lot of people who likes it. I can't do anything about that. It was only MY opinion that First Person view is bad, I am perfeclty fine if you like it. -
Someone knows how often we should get these updates? I thought it will be once per week

Let's Play: Baldur's Gate Trilogy - Ch26 (Mae'Var)
Chilloutman replied to Tigranes's topic in Computer and Console
I think we have enough see invisible to deal with thiefs without too much trouble, but its true that I didnt play BG with SCS so I can't comment too much on that.matter. Also in side quest we should beef up a little bit and get some nice loot with some nice abilities. -

And then siding with Bodhi as I think I never done that. Besides she is sexy vampire, right? Am I right? Like Selma Hayek right? Also can you please make screenshot with inventary as well when someone level up? And thanks for making me awesome, even tho I dont speak too much... well maybe because with wisdom 6 I am only mumbling idiot? But definetely strong one! -

I cant wait to see my heroic death. Tigraness give me email of your teacher I will send him message that he have to give you more time so you can spend it on BG -
I dont want to be offensive but I think that everyone wants their questions answeared, dont know why your thread should have any priority. Its same with thread ''good ideas not to be forgotten'' who the hell is so superwise to decide which ideas are good enough to not be forgotten? Its on devs to look from time to time on forum and seek inspiration if they want. Forcing them do so will not help you not to mention that they then can overlook ideas of someone else.
