  1. will doors be bashable with weapons like a giant maul or hammer? or trappable for rogues attempting to lure enemies into an ambush? Dwarves look great btw.
  2. Phallus: The wrathful god of Blinding Lust and Tasteful Rape Portfolios; anything sexual related Allies; none, constantly tries to rape the other gods and pervert their spheres of influence Symbols; It should be obvious Rituals; his devout followers must comit a depraved sex act at least once every lunar cycle
  3. don't think its gonna happen bro.... i think they're leaning more towards a ToEE style of portrait (at least judging by the second to last update). But you never know, things are still in the early stages and even if not i'm sure someone will resize the IWD1/2 protraits to be usable in P:E.
  4. what do people think about magical guns? i see no reason for a firearm not to bear enchantments...it is after all just a piece of metal at the end of the day, one which shoots projectiles. If a sword, crosbow or piece of armor can carry enchantments then so should firearms. I only mention this because in Arcanum (the only other RPG ive played with guns) they had no magical enhancements. if it turns out they don't, i hope there is a reasonable explanation as to why one piece of metal can be enchanted and another cannot. same goes for bullets...if arrows or bolts can have special properties why not bullets?
  5. I'd like to see fewer to no generic magic weapons (e.g weapons without a history)... I'd like a clear difference between standard Blacksmith trash weaponry and fine weapons made by a master work craftsman... finally, i'd like magic weapons to be few and far between so that when you do finally get one it feels special and makes all the difference in a battle. essentially, I'm a low magic settingfag <_<
  6. 'YOU' dies against the first rabid squirrel it encounters while picking apples in a tree for the village grandma. Warriors and mages, priests and rogues all are highly trained individuals that should have at least some basis for being as skilled as they are at game start. edit: I think something like selecting some variables at startup would be fine... for example: what Village/city/culture were you raised in? where did you, who did you recieve your training from? do you worship a particular god? what kind of soul do you have (or something along those lines)? simple things like this help define a character rather than just spawning out of mid air and imagining a backstory which usually involves meta-gamey knowledge of the world and events to take place.
  7. i'd definitely like a bit of backstory depending on my race/culture and why i am where i am at the beginning of the story...but I think a bit of background on class is in order too. For example, a different mentor character who plays a minor role depending on what class you are, someone who started you out on your profession...it adds a bit of flavor without intruding too much.
  8. just the usual every day stuff....tasteful rape, incest, domestic abuse (both verbal and physical), frequent sodomy and a few others. Nothing too unconventional really.
  9. yeah, my 3 int Barbarian should totally sound as sophisticated as my 20 int Wizard!
  10. is it too late to post "In B4 Medieval realism whiners"? as for me, I'd be into it...the Poly's have a long history of glorious savagery and brutal blood letting that can sate even the geekiest of nerds. and since the Amaua seem to be big fat tatoo'd shark people a dash of brutality would seem to be in order.
  11. Tactile Telekinesis: The Cipher's melee damage increases exponentially with each level he gains while this ability is active. All other Cipher powers are inaccessible during this time however.
  12. ^ those sound like high level abilities that should be in sequels when the characters have matured into seasoned adventurers. IIRC Obsidian is taking the BG1 approach in terms of leveling (make the adventure level appropriate, bring you up to low-mid level by the end and leave room for further character development in future installments of the franchise)...which i'm totally ok with even if they kill off the PC and you play as his/her reincarnation in the P:E2.
  13. Frankly, I'm more interested in the potential dialogue and plot impact having a psychic character around can affect... If one of the Ciphers chosen abilities is telepathy then being lied to can become a detectable thing during dialogue. Prying secrets from sleeping npc's or prisoners also becomes possible and beneficial. I'd imagine the more advanced cultures may even employ Ciphers as some form of criminal investigators etc.
  14. I've always wanted to play psionics in an crpg and so far, what little I heard from the last update I like. from what it sounds like the Cipher can get incredibly powerful the longer it stays focused in combat. this sounds like the perfect "big bad" class to me.
  15. why you guys want him to waste time on this I'll never know...
  16. i read all about how 'evil' the west is and then I wonder...why aren't the middle east, China, Russia and Africa held accountable? this is just super power/1st world aggro. If the Chinese or some Islamic caliphate ever rose to power in the world on the scale the US has you would all weep tears of blood rather than just the salty tears of envy.
  17. http://www.amazon.com/Daughters-of-Soria-ebook/dp/B00B14B8NC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1358622051&sr=8-1&keywords=Daughters+of+Soria made my estrogen levels rise and my daddy issues flare...
  18. all the **** B-ware has pulled since then and that's what you can't forgive them for?
  19. if there is any justice in the world a Kotor 3 would retcon TORtanic... "it was all a dream" works for me.
  20. Meh...Fallout did it best. No classes, just skills and abilities you learn and develop along the way as you adventure plus the ones you choose upon chaeacter creation. It really is the best approach...for those that want titles, let them earn those titles through accomplishments in-game or through some hereditary backstory.
  21. what i find more curious is why i can be a barbarian when ive spent my whole life in a secluded swamp town with no barbarians around...
  22. I'm an old school player...I graduated from trite concepts of Good and Evil long ago. In truth there is no such thing, there is only need and circumstance and I play my characters thus.
