  1. ^ i mean that the Godlike, while considered a separate race by normies, vary greatly in their appearance depending on which god they were touched by at birth... for example a Godlike touched by the godess of fire may have red hair and eyes or perhaps red skin...a Godlike toched by the god of the sea may be greenish blue with gills and so on depending on the deities realm of power.
  2. perhaps the Godlike vary depending on which god they were "touched" by... certainly leaves the door open to further elaborate on their appearance, if not in this game then in future installments.
  3. i don't care much for so called "realism" in my fantasy; that goes for armor, buildings, wealth and the like... people saying they want things to resemble middle ages europe don't seem to be able to understand that if magic, gods, psychics and 4 other alien races had lived side by side with humanity during that time we'd have a completely different notion of what is "realistic". all i want out of realism is for the npc's to behave according to their customs and common sensibilities.
  4. i kinda don't want multiclassing...I'm hoping for a one class system that has its own set of unique skills/abilites/feats to choose from at the start of each class and progresses down its own unique path with different optional abilities. (so that "no two fighters are alike") For those that want to mix it up you can then purchase skills from other classes once you've met the necessary requirements. In this way you can have Ciphers who can sneak, but are still considered just ciphers...fighters who can cast spells, thieves who can range etc etc. You can plan a spell sword as a single class, you just have to learn magic as a fighter...or swordplay as a mage. with this type of system you can have skinny dextrous fighters, burly armoured mages and everything in between instead of having to have a level of this and a level of that ad infinitum until your character resembles a schizo more than a hero.
  5. as a soon to be 'Murican statesian (51st state) and the fact that my people are hot blooded and quick to anger; I fully support firearms for everyone in PE! If i can I'd like to have a Cipher who dual wields a custom set of pistols in his journey for dominance... my plan? shoot the hell out of smugly superior mages, then mind rape them into oblivion.
  6. I'd like cities to be lively... I remember playing a glorious little NWN mod by the name of Almraven...the city in that mod was one of the most "alive" and well designed cities i've ever seen even in professional games. Also, The original Witcher (Vizima) was a good example. People going to work, to restaurants and bars, visitng friends and family etc. Just going about their lives adds so much to a player's immersion. it also makes planning robberies and missions more interesting since you have to take into account the peoples schedules.
  7. I'm a solo gamer...mainly for 2 reasons: 1) I tend to keep my geek/nerd interests in the closet despite it being a huge part of my enjoyement in life and 2) I generally think people online are either pathetic sycophants, general asshats or just plain boring...neither of which particularly appeals to me. (of course this does't apply to everyone, just a large majority) none of my IRL friends are really the nerdy type i could geek out with in this sort of thing so I'm pretty much indifferent to anykind of MP.
  8. you guys seem to be a little confused..."godlike" races are probably going to be similar to the plane touched races of DnD which were not demi-gods by any stretch of the imagination. Hell, even only a small handful of the Bhaalspawn ever truly unlocked their divine heritage to its fullest in order to become true demi-gods (in power, rather than just name) despite there being hundreds of them.
  9. you guys need to learn that a good rogue massacres 95% of all mages in the game before they can even get their buffs up... whether it's through poison, traps or hide in shadows/backstab - mages are toast. Hell, you can even one shot Irenicus at Suldanessellar by laying traps all around him before killing the tree parasites. people that say mages are OP in the game probably are the same ones that try to fight all mages head on with their fighter class characters.
  10. I think a "starting" level or dungeon is good to set the tone, mood and pace of the story...but it can get old if the game has a lot of replay value. therefore I think a starting dungeon should have a character development component, something that maybe defines your characters class/stats and his/her starting personality and skills.
  11. I wish Planescape: Torment had a sexual lust child with the BG series and spawned a new era of superior cRPG gaming that can put the last decade of utter decline behind us forever. Also add in the beautiful naturesque music of IWD and the epic feel of the ToB tracks (best sound track in any IE game!)
  12. in the IE games when an item was cursed it had bad qualities that would often hinder the player, but the actual curse came from the fact that you couldn't remove the item. now to me this made no sense. If I have an irremovable weapon or armor what the hell happens to my personal hygiene? (how do I clean my sensitive parts with a bastard sword tethered to my arm?) it is completely impractical and quite tedious tbh. a better example of cursed item implementation would be to make them VERY attractive (especially in the early game) in the bonuses that they give you were you have to weigh the benefits of the power it grants versus the actual curses (ie the detriments). take for example the Cursed sword of berserking +3 in BG1. A +3 greatsword in BG1 was as close to a god sword as you could get in that game, but it came with the downside of "you might actually be possessed by the sword and go on a murderous rampage"...to me the irremovable aspect of the item was just silly and unnecessary. TL;DR Make the curse obvious, but the power the item grants so tempting that you'd be willing to risk it. Make it a gamble that the player would be willing to make rather than something permanently attached to your body like its been welded there. If you want to add a replacement to the irremovable aspect just make the power/curse addictive in a way that it affects your mind/soul long term.
  13. that is what the Cipher class is: Psychics and outsiders who are mistrusted because of their powers. so it's a very real possibility we'll see elements of this in game; possibly on both sides of the law, or "good/evil". I think it'd be nice to have maybe a cipher constable who is a hardass while trying to solve crimes...or possibly an evil mastermind who manipulates those in power to acquire his goals. The sky is the limit with this stuff really, which is why it was one of my most desired stretch goals.
  14. damn, petty people sure do get butthurt over stray comments... Maybe next he will create a separate youtube video listing off the country of every donor, the country's capital and national anthem. Even then people will just say he sung the anthem off pitch.
  15. Just because you have a lot to say doesn't mean it's worthy of being said, much less read... and typing out essays for hours on end doesn't make your "position" anymore noteworthy or correct; how sad for that you would think otherwise.
  16. not really, this game is in pre-production... and considering Ciphers were a stretch goal unto themselves (lol Barbarians, yeah, there's a class that's hard to implement) I would think certain funds/time would be allocated to their thorough and proper implementation.
  17. None of you are ever going to convince anyone else on this subject no matter how much "logic" and text walls of China you try to apply to this silly subject...what the hell is wrong with you people?! is it seriously gonna be like this for the next 2 years?
  18. Wind Adepts in Golden Sun can use telepathy on ANYTHING with a pulse... just saiyan' /jrpgFag anyway, i imagine a telepathy skill wouldn't be too hard on the main plot since any big bads would probably have magical/psychic/soul protecting power or items as needed....but this would add an interesting dynamic to small side quests and party interactions. heh, i can already imagine characters, especially the sneaky ones, getting annoyed by this power.
  19. I've seen so many of these stupid threads across RPG boards that all i see now is: "gender differences are disgusting...i wish all women looked and acted like men. Also, every character should be a bisexual love interest."
  20. I, for one, support cooldowns on my romances. /hurr probably...the guy has a stick up his ass the length of a broom handle.
  21. hey, can you post a let's Play video so the rest of us can see how boring it is?
  22. heheheh this thread is TRULY hilarious...a bunch of males discussing what is and isn't appropriate for females to wear in a fictional setting. so in other words, business as usual, just like in real life.
  23. pfft, who knows... i'm still wondering why this is such a big deal in an isometric game where bodytypes will probably be a non-issue.
  24. sigh despite what popular culture would have us believe, MEN are NOT created equal....you only need to look around in your own life to see this is FACT. Women and men even less so...women have different strengths that are generally undeveloped in men and vice versa; this desperate need for "equality" (in gaming no less, how laughable) is not only insulting but diminishes both genders to some kind of wannabe neuter species. a strong women, doesn't need to look, dress or act in anyway like some 80's/90's action star to prove "she can play with the boys"...such a notion is laughable at best. and all you white knighter's, championing a flawed ultra feminist "equality" approach, would better spend such wasted time in more fruitful pursuits such as picking your noses and masturbating. Baring radical genetic engineering of the species: Women are not men, they don't want to dress or ACT like men and the reverse is true for males. It is, as it was meant to be by EVOLUTION. One gender is not superior to the other. bleh, but f*ck it...all you guys care about are "boobplate" and npc romances anyway... kill me now, this is a new BSN in the making.
