god, I loved that series!...played it all the way through part 5 with the same character and everything. jeez, they even had romances by part 5...aahh nostalgia. Hi NerdBoner, an avid fan - I see! Hope you played the remake by AGDI on QFG2. It's pretty fantastic. As for QFG1, another thing I was very fond of was the wizard's game where you could play a mini-game with Erasmus by using all the spells in your arsenal. Quite a cool game. I was about to mention the Trial by Fire fan remake but I figured any true fan would have known about it already haha. and yeah, Mage's Maze varied wildly..sometimes it was simple others times it was screen punchingly hard. the worst was that damn gargoyle though...don't know how many times he made me re-climb that mountain!

I haven't played text in an rpg/adventure game since they were less than a megabyte in size back in the 80's... even then i wanted to kill myself out of frustration over finding the exact word or sequence of words to move forward in the game...granted i was barely out of diapers and my vocabulary wasn't as prolific but still...f*ck that, it was nightmarish! edit: there is indeed such a thing as too old school.

you really think it'll get that high with the spike? the pledges have slowed to a steady trickle so as of now i'd say 2.6 is pushing it.I want everyone's dreams to come true with this game but aproximately 75k from now the Cipher is in, so i gots no worries! If that class makes it in my game is made unless I hear something completely unexpected.

damn, you guys have been pissing on my campfire a lot lately...between this, people withdrawing due to the cooldown debacle and some lunatic "hoping" for a solid 8 hour gaming experience I'm starting to feel like I was the only cat expecting a game the length and breadth of the IE classics. Those were no shorter than at least 40 hours, way more if you took the time, explored and read the lore. now listen here sir, you shut your filthy mouth in my wholesome thread... I'll have none of this kind of talk!

....significantly? I mean adding a new class alone + expanding the world with factions and story...I imagine that each time a stretch goal is met the game just gets that much farther away from release right? the 1.1 mil game was slated for a Q1 2014 (w00t hoverboards soon!) release correct? Well we're def gonna hit at least 2.55 mil...that's a singnificantly larger game with many more things to implement. I hope Feargusaurus and the Obsidiraptor's can pull it off but, I'm worried. ...someone hold me...

BG1 with romances? Surely you jest...

i think a "Zealot" class (holy or profane knights of particular gods) would be more appropriate than a Paladin...Paladin implies strictly good and i think the devs are trying to avoid alignment style restrictions. Feargus also said Paladins are stoopud. A zealot can serve a more chaotic god or a more righteous one depending on character creation which leaves it open to both playstyles: Holy Knight as well as Black Guard. agreed...I'd like the adventure to be equal parts wilderness, dungeon and cityscape.

so long as we reach 2.5 I am a happy gamer...Cipher's and psionics, always wanted that in a cRPG. Adventuring hall is something that can easily (relatively) be modded in later, I got no worries there. Now watch Feargusaurus Rex add some beast-ass goal for 2.7 or even 3 million and makes us all weep...

is this like the thing were womens lives are worth more than mens because they can only produce 1-2 offspring at a time while it only takes one man to basically repopulate a species if there are enough women around? or is it something else? because, aside from cultural and religious indoctrination I don't see the inherint value of a child's life being any greater than say a young adult or even an old person. and again, its a video game...please don't tell me you're one of those tiresome types like those politicians who "believe" video games lead to violence in real life. ...goddamn, when did people become such p*ssies...

hey, if I'm caught up in a battle inside a village and someone launches a fireball and some poor kid gets caught in the crossfire...that's life. I don't want immortal children! It doesn't mean i'm gonna take a pretige class called Child Killer. edit: and they're not kids...they're sprites, people, chill the f*ck out with your pseudo moral outrage.

Live recorded music, Poll 2.0
NerdBoner replied to jerf's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
just give it your all brother...remember tavern music, environment specific music, some tear jerking songs at appropriate times, nature sounds etc. Call Inon Zur up, pick his brain...his Throne of Bhaal tracks were amazing, very epic and appropriate for the stage of power you were dealing with at the time. -
frankly, I'm only limited because lint takes up more space in my purse than actual coin (terrible life choices hehehe)...otherwise i'd be going all out to fund this project, that's how much I loved the oldschool. i don't even care about those high tier extras...I just want this to be a huge, immersive game, with sequels, that will make me forget all about the BG: Trilogy, IWD and Planescape. I want to be an Eternity sl'ut. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=31g0YE61PLQ

I dunno if i said it before, i'm too lazy to mouse click back, but I'd like to know as much about the lore of the world as is comfortably possible and absolutely NOTHING about the plot. cultures, factions, tribes, religions...i want to know as much as my starting character would know being a citizen of that world.
