  1. I don't think Bioware really had a choice in the matter due to previous business decisions. They sold out to Elevation Partners to merge with Pandemic to create some sort of super-indie studio, then Elevation were the ones who sold Bioware to EA. Let's not use the "sell out" phrase. It's, quite frankly, stupid.
  2. I honestly do not expect it to be a second Kickstarter.
  3. No, I mean is it playable as in are the gamebreakers out? I've played the demo about 3 times if that counts. It's currently very limited but I really enjoyed it
  4. I'm this close to beating The Banner Saga.
  5. In which case shame on Bioware. They should at least aim for decent stories and plotting. As much as I love BioWare, they give themselves too much credit, and the industry as a whole gives them too much credit. Yeah, they made BG2, but ever since then, they've developed a company-wide overblown sense of self-reverence/relevance. My friend that worked on TOR once told me "you guys are right now figuring out what we've known all along - those guys are crazy". Now, I know not everyone is a Casey Hudson or Mac Walters, but you have to admit that this attitude is pretty clear throughout. You have David Gaider on the forums, who is not a stranger to going off on fans for understandable reasons but with a "woah, woah, slow down there, Gaider" slant. Going back to Casey Hudson, who could forget locking the entire writing staff out of writing the ending to a trilogy, or the lesser known ME1 GDD that actually says "THAT CLASSIC BIOWARE STORY"? They wrote great stories in the context of the past, but ever since then, video games have increased in storytelling experience.
  6. I prefer the Order of the Stick version of Paladins. One Paladin gets way too zealous, spends half the second story arc chasing our heroes down, tries to kill his LEADER for making a joke, and ultimately ends up sliced in half from a falling building, where upon the Gods themselves all tell him he screwed up.
  7. Yeah, the Gnomes change in attitude really was great. Anything can overstay its welcome.
  8. That was said in update 16 on Oct 6, though checking the current statement on KS, it doesn't mention the batman decoder ring. Given the KS was closed 17 Oct maybe they removed it. I hope so, or at least the ring being a plot item for something else with reading memorials being a bonus. That's horrible.
  9. Wow, so I just started Sir, You Are Being Hunted... and the whole computer just started GOING... the PSU fan just started spinning overtime!
  10. Affleck was the bomb in Phantoms, yo. You all know this has to be the winner.
  11. Hey, I have an idea. Some doctors are tall. Some doctors are men. That means all men must be tall. As for the "charged and deserved death by Obama" bull****, you do know there's this thing called the military, right? Drone attacks are mostly conducted by JSOC. JSOC does not report to the military, it reports directly to the White House. Which is worse? Obama being the one signing for the attack or an intern for the associate security adviser? Oh well, the whole NSA thing also. Great legacy, wonderful legacy, Barry. I bet you can tell us all about what really happened to JFK, as well.
  12. No, they also run brothels and love sex. Also, the sex kills you. This is a Planescape joke. I just made a Planescape joke, guys.
  13. Ah, ok - never played AP (nor the WItcher 2) but wasn't the choice there a good thing? Didn't know people were bashing it. Being forced to replay the game if you want the full story is never a good thing. but in real life we NEVER get the full story. and... you are getting the full story, the story you helped create. if you decide you want to go with different decisions, you aren't getting another side of the same story, it's a different story all together because your actions are different, therefore the following chain of actions is different. so... i really don't see what you're getting at here. having a second storyline that you can follow (or third or fourth, depending on the game, F:NV comes to mind here) ups replay value for one thing, but it doesn't mean you can't be satisfied with what you've done. for a lot of people one play through is enough, and they never get that niggling little question of what might have been if i'd just done this instead. but for those of us that do, having an entirely different path open up that may or may not be dealing with the same situation (odds are it will be) is quite enticing. i think in a way you've created a false picture of what branching story is. you're claiming that the only way to get a "the" full story is to play through all possible outcomes. but it's not even the same story when you do that, so... i'm really not seeing that. ... video games are not real life, though. And New Vegas is not an example of Branching Story, since you can do anything at any time. You can play both the Legion and the Rangers. Nothing locks in New Vegas. Kill House or let House live, it doesn't change anything. I'm not saying side quests or different epilogues or different lines of dialogue are Branching Story. Just the big things. Plot is not Story.
  14. And the best summon animation is Mr. Hankey.
  15. I was watching Disney's Robin Hood last night, and now I want that as a stealth game.
  16. News flash guys: not all cut content is cut for DLC. If anything, DLC allows for cut content to live again.
  17. My favorite was that she would die and then become a zombie and then it's okay because she's not your sister anymore technically.
