  1. Yes, those pesky concerns like rent and food. People buying games have to pay rent and food. I'm not saying that I know the optimal price, but that argument cuts both ways. .... no. A thousand times no. If you can't afford something, you do not buy it. Spare me the "BUT I WANT IT" fallacy of an argument. You price products based on how much it would take to break even versus how much the market can bear. I cannot believe (actually, yes I can) that you are actually suggesting that the consumers subjective needs trumps the creators objective needs. Eternity, right now, has a loss of 73,986. This is their freaking job. They can't make video games just cause.
  2. Yeah, never before has there been such a "Why Can't We Have Both?" question.
  3. .... okay...
  4. So, everyone needs to pledge to Darkest Dungeon. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1460250988/darkest-dungeon-by-red-hook-studios
  5. No. It was more "we want to move away from old technology and consolidate everyone onto the same tech (early DA3 prototypes were already using Frostbite) and we really like what we've seen with DA3 at this point and are more keen on following up with that than DA2." Keeping us working on DA2XP would just delay us ramping up on Frostbite. Part of the influence of this thought process is likely how meh Awakening's sales were compared to the investment and install base. Couple that with less overall sales of DA2 and it's not hard to see that the XP held higher risks than we would necessarily want. That does make a valid point.

  7. We know Fart Magic is the bomb.
  8. I'm assuming more classes will be DLC. Lame.
  9. Not the wheel per say, but the whole game. Also it's counter intuitive for PC players who use the keyboard to select which dialogue they want. It's not a big secret that the dialogue wheel was created to make it easier for console players to select the dialogue. Yes, there are several people here who play on PC and enjoyed DA II. You can use the numpad to select dialogue options. I also find it odd you're suggesting that PC players only use the keyboard as opposed to constantly clicking on small areas with a mouse. I thought DA2 was a good game, not great but entertaining enough and I played it on PC...as always. The issues I had with it weren't anything to do with the dialogue but the reused dungeons and monsters just appearing out of the air Yeah, I loved DA2. I still knew its faults and actually talked to some devs at E3 and the like about the adventure that was making the game. But it was a great feat for the small dev cycle they had. Exhalted March is a shame, though. I'm pretty sure it boiled down to "make DA3 or don't make a new game at all at this point".
  10. mmmm..the Chinese and they have done it before. What is my present for answering the question? Hacking computers to spy on people? North Korea, Britain, Russia, France, Iran, Syria, ... to name but a few. LOL, NK doesn't even have internet. You, dude, should watch the news more. USA has the largest spying program in the world as it has recently been revealed. Wait. You mean the NSA is involved in spying on everyone? I'm shocked. It's still conspiracy theory-y to say every hack is the gov'ment.
  11. I'm the kind that wants to stop and smell the roses, to really "experience" it at my own pace. I'm just hoping there's lots of roses to smell. Just as long as you don't berate other players for not looking at everything and talking to everyone.
  12. I'd be very surprised if it was anything less than $39. Of course, in context of me, it will be far less on release.
  13. It would be far dirtier than it is, but less coherent.
  14. This existed before the dialogue wheel as well. Though I believe there's been more effort in making sure at least the immediate response to any of those lines is still unique, compared to the first occurrence in Mass Effect. It may not be the case throughout the entire game, but I remember doing a quick playthrough of the ME2 prologue just to see, after someone had once suggested that the practice was continued and widely used and it wasn't the case there. Seriously. Flavor Choices existed in BG1.
  15. Everyone knows my blasphemous ideas about RPGs.
  16. Good idea getting rid of the Dominant Tone. It was a fantastic idea with piss poor execution.
  17. I'm gonna say it again... The monetary point. If these things are stretch goals, then don't they only happen if we as a community pledge enough money? As I understand it money would not be the main issue, because if there is not enough, then those goals won't come to fruition anyways. I think its more a matter of time and being able to assign qualified and experienced developers to complete the stretch goals. If they don't have the money, they can't assign people to work. That's how employment works.
  18. Bethesda has never given us the entire engine required to make the game. No company ever has done this. Not even Valve. That would be incredibly stupid on their part if they did. Giving out a possibly million dollar piece of software for free?
  19. I'm pretty sure some people are purposefully making strawmen just to demonize people that don't like the same things that they do. Because that is not what I said at all. Well that's what you WROTE, I cannot know what you WANTED to write or INTENDED to write do I? I can only see what you actually WROTE. So try to write more clearly instead of accusing everybody of straw men or misunderstanding. If you do this or that sidequest this or that happens, but ultimately the story does not. Just the plot.
  20. What I did today? Took three Advil an hour ago. They were not Advil. They were Valium.
  21. I'm pretty sure some people are purposefully making strawmen just to demonize people that don't like the same things that they do. Because that is not what I said at all.
  22. HoC US, much like The Office US, is brilliant.
  23. Alpha Protocol had more meaningful choices than TW2. This idea that every single new RPG needs branching story in order to have meaningful choices is extremely detrimental to storytelling.
