and the backer portal would be where? is it the one tied to my account at pillars of eternity website or is it somewhere else. I have not used anything @Obsidian but this forum for a very long time :D

Well i do not lurk their forums but from gameplay it looked like bloated HP pools and no to-hit mechanics (no misses dodges etc. Everything was hitting) there was not even a combat log so i would not have hopes for it to be a DA:O lite in Forgotten Realms

Subs is different than followers and even that is different from viewers. If those ppl get like 3-5k viewers a session it is a good exposure.

No, I won't be skipping anything. I have arguably the best knowledge of the mechanics out of the backers, and I want to share that knowledge with everyone so that they understand the mechanics in the game. I think you'll be happy with my formatting though. Australians make some of the best game commentators. Sensuki, you familiar with TobiWan, arguably the best solo Dota 2 caster? Since when Obsidian is a small indie? It is a small budget "niche" production that through high quality will reinvoke the same emotions in new generation of the players as we had in our days when we got BG IWD and PS:T. It will also allow us to enjoy a game we thought that might have died out. By looking at Obsidian portfolio you cannot mistake them with a small start up indie. I have no problem with store pre order etc as long as the GAME is good (ok i have problem with how physical copies were handled but it is a different pair of shoes). Stop acting like the worst kind of hipster because it is just annoying.

It would be kind of hard to sing NDAs with 75k+ backers that reside in different countries with different legal systems. It's a press review copy, so it is not 100% what we will get on day 1. Giving them out, is to create more coverage and more buzz in the internet for the game, so hopefully it will be successful (at least on par with D:OS) and then we can expect more of the games like this

What does number of companions have to do with their memorability? Actually, it's quite the opposite, less on quantity should make it more on quality.Nothing. But if you want to evoke Baldur's Gate as an inspiration for companions, there should be loads more than 8. I wasn't commenting at all on memorability, but the plurality. Planescape: Torment also had very, very few CNPC:s (but they worked them differently, so it was alright) but they were all amazingly memorable, but they chose to sell the CNPC:s using Baldur's Gate as an example. You remember the original number of the NPC companions in the pitch right? We got more through the additional funding and you still complain about that? I mean wtf? It is on par with PS:T in number and hopefully quality. Remember that we are in 2015 and the game had a very limited funding with a ton of things to be developed from the scratch unlike BG which had lore and combat mechanics only to be ported.

It's bull**** that BIG NAME twitchers and youtubers get a copy before Backers. Hell most of them are probably going to force play the game just because they got paid to. Hmm i did not notice any misses or blocks, does it have no -to hit- roll mechanics in the back and you just have to go through some arbitrary defense and hp values?

i agree that demos often have overleveled characters to show off some cool stuff (the PoE demos also had this) so I see no problem with it, I am not fun of cooldowns though, charges per battle/encounter and day would be better IMO, they would mimic DnD mechanics better than what is implemented now

it looks like Diablo meets NWN, it is not classic DnD, but might be fun to play

i love SS2, i tried to get back to it once it got on steam, but aside of gameplay it did nt age too well. I wish for some remastered edition with HD textures and maybe a bit of GUI improvement

lI do not.recall anything being said about time sensitive quests. Traditionally there were some side quests time dependant but i have no idea how it is in PoE

there is gazzilion of zombie apocalypse games and movies and series, I do not need another one. There is no driving force, nothing to make it interesting aside of something went bad and now we have zombies.....

now while i am sure that the first occurance back in DECEMBER 2014 could have been surprisng even for a commercial behemot such as McD.(sarcasm) I am sure that even to this date they have no plans on how to deliver their goods in a timley manner to all those french fries loving Japanese people in case of those evil doers at the docks block their invaluable goodies....
