Some PWs were pure gold, I still have good memories of them, although a lot of them were trash with everyone and their mother trying to be some super unique freak and excusing clearly power builds with some **** inconsistent story. Two I liked the most were I think Empires of Eternity and The Way Inn.(if those were the correct names). I was dabbling some with Ravenloft Prisoners of the Mist, but there were too many over the top characters and eventually I left.

Fighter as damage dealer
Darkpriest replied to HelpHelpHelp's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
I am actually trying a part of 6 warriors. 2 with shield 2 with reach weapons and 2 with arbalests. Want to check if they can make through although I already can see that some battles will be super hard unless i will be crafting.potions and scrolls for them -
Bruce... it took 2 huge world wars for people in europe to stop warring with each other... the amount of destruction, lives lost and the sheer scale for what in the end was just a mass net loss for everyone made people realize that maybe it is time to stop killing each other and just cooperate to build.higher wealth. until they themselves will develop the culture of education and fair trade we should just ignore them and buy only reources that we need. Without going into who leads them as long as they are not a direct threat to our land and families. If they are then just blast them back to the stone age and be done with playing with them.

Socrates’ criticism of democracy (i.e why its BS)
Darkpriest replied to Luj1's topic in Way Off-Topic
over me alone? noone. over a community... well there needs to be someone who will be able to enforce and execute laws that will protect my rights to property. otherwise you will have the rule of the strongest, since nature itself created conditions for the rule of the fittest and strongest, and if no law or government type will exist, the primal laws will rule...*shrug*. -
party based combat done right: PoE - RTwP; D:OS - TB; action based combat done right: Dark Souls - definitely; TW3 - most likely. DA:I sucks on both aspects, cause it cannot decide what it wants to be. It is a boring "hold mouse button and aim cross at the enemy", or equally boring "click and go afk", because you need to maw through some overbloated HP values of enemies, which there are 3 types (pack of human like enemies, pack of red templar like, pack of demons) + dragons, and the only thing that scales there are DMG and HP values, once you saw the low level enemy of one type, it will be the same type of enemy later on with exactly same approach and attacks, but with higher values.... PoE at least gives you various beasts with various abilities and resistances, which get extra abilities with higher tier creature type or in case of kith they get various builds from the same list of abilities that all the classes have. D:OS gets various types of enemies based on the map, and section of the map, you have way more options in terms of abilities and synergies, and it is super fun. Dark Souls - has a challenging active combat, with active blocking, various builds in terms of gear, spells and abilities, awesome boss fights and mobs with different types of attacks, etc. TW3 - seems to be a at least good action combat, and it will also include mounted combat and combat with real flying enemies, which you first need to pin down to the ground for better chances... DA:I is dull, uninspired, bad MMO clone combat in action mode and god awful in RTwP mode (pathing of characters alone makes you want to uninstall the game)

I need to take examples, maybe from this educational video?

White grilled sausage... delicacy... Same goes for smoked thin dry sausages.... OMG or those French thin lamb sausages on grill with a bottle of wine to follow... hmmmhmm
-
true, DA:I is not a button masher, cause you have to constantly hold your attack button instead, there is that.
-
Yeah I did not think of the technical aspect, but yeah, there might be limitations to the world size hence the sections.
-
My guess they had to make some compromise in this section if the wanted to maintain the structure where your choices were reflected in the game world. Do you know to what extend is the divide implemented? Maybe it is just that some parts of the map are closed off because war/battle/wild hunt w/e big reason?
-
Well to be fair, and i don´t like DA:I, they are completely different games anyway. Both are RPGs with action combat and open world, so I do not see much difference. Combat seems to be better designed (because it does not try to cheat you into being party based tactical combat so it can be better developed on action part) Open world looks better, but I would have to play TW3 to express my final decisions. (but horseriding alone is better and it includes mounted combat too) From the history though the RPG elements were much stronger in TW series than in DA series overall (2 games average vs 2 games average, and both had nonsensical "romance", but at least TW did not try to cheat you into sex scenes to be more than just that, sex scenes) The only part where someone might dislike this game, is the fact that the game has a clearly defined protagonist with no real customization options, but it is also his strength, as he has well fleshed out backstory in the literature.

Just let them kill each other for what I care, maybe in a 1thousand years the monkeys will evolve into a human being level.

Apparently there are things that Russians can do well
Darkpriest replied to Darkpriest's topic in Way Off-Topic
From a different "universe" and the real life set: Dem Russians and their "red stars" :D (although it is a very high quality work TBH) EDIT: There is something appealing in chicks in power armors :D -
Socrates’ criticism of democracy (i.e why its BS)
Darkpriest replied to Luj1's topic in Way Off-Topic
to be honest, he was right... democracy IS the rule of stupid. it would be different if there were census rules like there were in its origin, but remember that modern republic idea came after renaissance rediscovery of ancient Greeks and then a few hundred years later where common and mostly uneducated folk followed the big words of equality, etc by growing casts of rich merchants who could never reach levels of aristocracy in terms of privileges. In US it was also about money, and why they wanted to break of from the British empire... In modern politics you also appeal to poor and stupid as they are easily swayed by propaganda and their votes matter same like those who are well educated and have better understanding of what is going on beyond their neighborhood or city. The problem with monarchy or even elected monarchy is that sometimes you just get a total retard as a ruler who can mess up things badly, but at the same time greatest features of many countries were achieved during the rules of good monarchs, because they could see bigger picture and were not restrained by voting cycle. -
Not sure if this was posted, but this looks decent first feeling, it blows away DA:I (no hundreds of hit points)

So tell me what we have to do to get....
Darkpriest replied to Vicentegrev's topic in Computer and Console
I have no idea how you guys think that combat system was good there... it was god awful, to a point of being unplayable.... -
And who doesn't run paid shills these days .... OMG they should check all the telecom and other mass consumer products producers and their practice... the same kind of thing is ran by every political party and I assume that by extension also by every government, so it is really nothing special about Russia's "troll" agency... it is funny though how it is tried to be placed like it is the only one out there :D

No immunities
Darkpriest replied to Cronstintein's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Lack of immunities was odd. I was very surprised that i could KD a slime :D and more of odd things. Although imagine a certain boss immune to petrification and KDs. *gasps* I can only hope that they will refine the combat system and bestiary for PoE2 it is after all a first itteration of an own brewed RPG system. -
they just need to give Sensuki access to all their betas :D
